he was found may 2 lying on a road near main street and strawberry avenue in rural commercial township. but the president of millville based tlv animal rescue says only yesterday did x-rays rereal he had been shot. they showed bullets under the dog's jaw and near his right back leg. >> i can't believe shall be somebody would leave him out there to die. >> reporter: the dog being called mr. bigs himself has what appear to be puncture wounds and scars all over his body. >> he's very lucky to be alive. >> reporter: the x-rays also show bullets shattered bones in the dog's leg. the veterinarian hopes they can find a way to avoid amputating that leg. >> instead of being a simple break, there are multiple fragments. >> reporter: animal rescue is hoping to ghetto nations to help them pay what will end up being thousands of dollars in veterinary bills. mr. bigs will eventually be put

up for adoption. >> this dog did not deserve this. >> reporter: the spca has launched a full investigation into this act of animal cruelty, but so far authorities have few leads on who shot the dog. ted greenberg, nbc 10 news. new at 6:00, a new addition is coming to the philadelphia skyline. today they broke ground on a six story high rise along ray street. it will sit behind the rail yard. developers are calling it view 32, promising that it will have some incredible views of center city. the complex will include dorm space for students as well as for sale up to homes and a preschool. three local doctors face criminal charges this evening in a $5 billion scheme to sell prescription drugs for cash.

doctor all three were indicted. investigators say many of their patients were in fact drug dealers are or drug addicts. the doctors allegedly prescribed dangerous controlled substances and did not examine patients. today state police got a tip about the suspect in last week's road rage shooting and arrested anthony richardson. a bullet went through the door, but did not hit the victim. a co-worker on facebook helped police capture a bank robbery suspect. police arrested brandon stevens on charges he robbed two banks in five days. we showed you the surveillance video last friday. the bank robber wore this phillies hat. police tell us stevens' co-worker saw his picture and turned him in. mayor kenney fears what he says are similarities between

nbc 10 scrviewers help a sel burglar. we showed you the video yesterday. police say he broke into several homes in one day. today officers arrested that suspect. s so he take tda tax fight. this afternoon city counsel members tried to get answers about how it will work. rosemary connors is joining us live from center city. council members getting the answers they need or not is this. >> reporter: well, yes and no. there was certainly plenty of testimony today, plenty of opportunity to get answers. but the question of course is whether it was enough to sway people's opinions on this. some inside city hall anticipate that it could be a few more weeks, maybe even into next month before we get a clear picture as to how this vote will shake out.

police got frantic calls about a black bear roaming residential neighborhoods. >> this time a 150-pound cub spotted in the northeast side of the city before running up a dream. >> a conservation officer tranquilized the cub and released it into the wild. >> in the spring it's more common to see cubs oig attracted to trash and food. >> a bunch of people and you is, but when they say a bear, i shut my door. >> i equate them a lot to teenagers. they're young not with a whole lot of life experience and they get into trouble. >> wildlife officers say urban sprawl is causing an increase in sightings. if you see one, just call your local game commission and they say the bear is probably more scared of you than you are of it. in this case probably not
