headed our way and you could see thunderstorms and even some flooding. with this looming threat people are taking advantage of the weather outside today. whether you're in ocean city, folks were out enjoying the sunshine and the heat and here's a live look at our bluecross river rink summerfest camera which you can see summerfest happening at pens landing and there's still some time for you to get out there and enjoy. >> good evening. i'm denise nakano. let's get out to meetorologist erica martin. eric a everyone is wondering whether tomorrow will be a washout. >> youio know, denise, it will be a washout to get this out of the way quickly because we have heavy downpours tonight into tomorrow. so tonight's weather includes rounds of rain showers on the way. heavier and steadier through the overnight hours and already seeing a flash flood warning issue just south of delaware so keep that in mind tonight into tomorrow.

certainly going to be a messy a.m. commute. if you look at the bottom of the screen, you will see your extended forecast for your area. satellite and radar image and you're seeing the pockets make it into the region and you're seeing orange, yellows and reds telling you that they have the isolated thunderstorms on the way and the heavier rain showers tonight into tomorrow. already getting reports of light precip south of delaware and already on its way and those clouds are developing quickly and i also expect isolated areas of patchy fog. coming up in my full forecast, we'll talk about the cooldown for tomorrow. denise, back to you. >> taking a live look in cape may when people are soaking up the sunshine and the clouds are moving in and it's all about the sand for families as people are on the way to the beach. he is live in atlantic county and the threat of wet weather, drew is popping cancellations down the shore? >> that's right, denise, we're hearing about impacts to cape may county right now and middle

township have announced they're canceling their memorial day parades and people can still celebrate. out on the beach, there are still families down here at the ocean and even though the clouds have thickened up in the last 30 minutes and they're enjoying every minute they can down here. it was a hazy start in atlantic city as some clouds clung around the high-rise casino resorts, but out on the beach the yellow umbrellas were up and people were making the most of this second of the three-day holiday weekend. >> we just came out here just to enjoy the scenery, basically. it's nice out here right now. the weather's good. >> at the new jersey korean war memorial families took a moment to appreciate what this weekend is really all about. >> we always celebrate and we always do something nice and we appreciate everything the troops do for us in our world, our country. >> we ran into a local walking back to his house. he said it's been calm so far. >> it wasn't too crowded. everybody had space. beautiful, beautiful day.

packed show in south jersey. the horse then trampled 19-year-old coy lutz in front of thousands of spectators. it happened last night at the cow town rodeo in salem county. now this is cell phone video of lutz's ride moments before he was tossed from the horse. we froze the video right before he fell to the ground. the paramedics rushed the teenager to the hospital where he died from his injuries. help from montgomery county high school band whose instruments were severely damaged in an arson last week will still get to play in a local memorial day parade thanks to the help of two other schools. westchester university and springford area high school are lending instruments to north bend. they'll be able to march in lanesdale's memorial day parade tomorrow. it suffered water and storm damage after a student set fire

to it last tuesday. that student was arrested and charged with multiple felonies. well, it will be messy. we go one-on-one with bernie sanders to get his take on the democratic national convention here in philadelphia after his previous comments caused a controversy. plus a show of support. why a group of runners was moved to pound the pavement in honor of a septa police officer hurt in a hit and run.

at a motorcycle rally honoring veterans and prisoners of war in washington d.c. trump told the crowd the veterans affairs secretary doesn't care about long wait lines and criticized hillary clinton for not being tough enough on the va. former new mexico governor gary johnson will be the libertarian party's nominee in the race for the white house. the party picked johnson today at its convention in florida. johnson also ran for president back in 2012. he received about 1% of the popular vote back then? >> erica? >> dover air force base reporting a quarter of an inch and yoer night rain showers will be steady coming up in my full forecast. i'll see you then.

show of support for a police officer. officer gary miller was severely hurt in a hit and run last week and he was running in an intersection where a get well relay took place today and the runners ran toward torsdale hospital where he is being treated. andrea, any update on his condition? >> yesterday, denise, we are told he was taken to icu, but we are told by his wife today that he is doing better. both of them are avid runners and the community got together and they hit the pavement to show their support. >> most in this group have never met septa officer gary miller and his love is all of the connection they need. >> we're all runners and we're all together and so we're all, you know, we're a strong community. >> nearly two dozen runners gathered at chippendale street at 3:00, the same time and same intersection that officer miller was hit by a car during his jog just last week.

live camera over philadelphia and we are seeing the clouds getting thick and soony. expect heavy showers tonight into tomorrow and already getting reports of light precip south of delaware into dover air force base reporting light rain showers and satellite and radar image picking up those showers and we is see lighter to moderate greens here and pockets of oranges and reds headed our way. again, i don't expect anything wild, not for at least another hour or so, but light rain on the way and it's not until tomorrow night through the overnight hours that we have the steadier rain and the wind direction has a southerly component and it's going just a little bit and a sign that tropical depression bonnie is moving in up the eastern seaboard. they range between 10 to 15 miles per hour. they'll pick up just a little bit. i don't expect this to be a win story at all through the overnight hours and i do expect

it to be a localized flooding issue and perhaps the flash flood watch and flash flood warning. >> otherwise, futurecast will get this into motion and seeing a couple of pockets there of heavier downpour, but mainly we're see something clouds and i do also expect areas of fog. so keep that in mind tonight into tomorrow and do not turn on your high beams. notice we're seeing those pockets through 1:00 a.m. and keep in mind tomorrow, give yourself extra time because i am telling you, it will be messy between 5:00 and 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. so future temperatures we're seeing a couple of 80s out there and the story for tomorrow mainly topping out mainly in the 70s all due to a cold front sliding down and an associated low which is why we'll get the isolated thunderstorms. so your ten-day outlook and then thursday getting warmer and
