one round breaking a window where two young children were sleeping. >> like 18 consecutive shots. my son was sleeping and it woke him up. >> reporter: police say the target was 49-year-old carl walker, sot in the passenger seat of pickup truck. he died as a friend drove him to the hospital. and a gas station customer standing in the wrong place at the wrong time was also hit in the leg, but he is expected to survive. >> several rounds had been fired. we're making an effort to determine if there's more than one shooter. >> reporter: redding police are using surveillance video to track down possible suspects. >> in our opinion, one shot is too many in the city. you have a condensed community, which is an example of some of the rounds hitting row homes. >> reporter: neighbors in northwest redding say gunfire is nothing new, but when it senator -- shatters windows and strikes innocent bystanders it becomes terrifying.

doctors at hackensack university medical center in new jersey delivered the baby girl via c-section yesterday. she was born premature at about 35 weeks. the 31-year-old mother was diagnosed with zika in her native honduras and then traveled to new jersey for more treatment. the case is causing concern for other pregnant patients. >> patients in new jersey are constantly coming to us, doctor, i'm pregnant. can i go out by the pool? what do i do? am i going to get a zika infection? and the answer is most likely not because we don't have a lot of cases within the united states. >> the baby is now receiving nutrition through an iv. doctor will monitor its ability to suck and swallow, to eat, as they would with any premature baby. this is the second baby born in the u.s. with birth defects from zika. the first was born in hawaii to a woman who had lived in brazil. jim? >> keith jones, thank you. a developing story in

southern california now. the lapd confirming two people have been killed in aed in suicide shooting on the ucla campus today. police put the campus on lockdown after the shooting as they search for a possible active shooter, but there was no gunman on the loose. the campus was on lockdown for a few hours but that was lifted in the past 45 minutes or so. nbc10 will keep an eye on the situation and bring you updates from california. at home, an off-duty philadelphia police officer fired his gun at a suspect, but one of the bullets smashed into the lobby at temple university hospital. investigators say the shooting happened late last night in north philadelphia. happened when a car crashed into the officer's motorcycle and the driver took off. no one was hurt during the shooting. officers found the suspect's car near sixth and came bria. the driver turned herself in this morning but police haven't release her name. decision 2016 coverage now. democratic presidential front-runner hillary clinton is rallying for votes in new jersey

storms. there have already been two. four to eight could become hurricanes and one to four could become major hurricanes. a gathering today at the shore highlighted the importance of being ready when a hurricane is headed your way. this emergency preparedness conference was put together by cape may county an atlantic city electorate. the goal is to provide people with information and resources that are vital in the event of a serious storm. >> so it's very important that we have that coordination and everybody is aware of just what the procedures are and just what we go through. >> hurricane season runs through november 30th. let's hope we don't have as many as predicted. >> yes. it is expected to be a little more active because we have allah neen forming, the opposite of el nino from last season so we expect more development. we'll keep our eye on it. right now we just had that

posttropical cyclone spinning in the carolinas and virginia. this is the shore and it looks just fantastic. we're looking at nice conditions along the shore and the delaware beaches right now with an onshore wind. that onshore wind is allowing it to be a little cooler at our shore points and delaware beaches. here's what it looks like in center city. we still have that summer twoormt deal with, partly cloudy skies. we had a few spotty showers on radar. really that's it. these are mostly just sprinkles across the area. what we're looking at is lower bucks county, maybe some trying to form in parts of gloucester county. really not much, though. right arnold middletown. one very light shower here. i think that one's kind of dying out. for the rest of the evening we'll keep watching for any extra pop-up showers, although our moisture is fairly limited at the moment. temperatures are mostly in the 80s but right along the shore where we just saw that nice picture. we have a little bit cooler temperatures here with an onshore wind, 77 cape may courthouse, still very comfortable. 73 degrees cape may point.

winter gas bills will be going down for several hundred thousand people in new jersey. pse&g wants to cut gas bills by 7.4% next winter. it would save the average customer $64. if aproofed the new rates would take effect this october. june signals the start of the busy summer travel season. a study out today reveals the top driving distractions for teenagers.

from our live cameras you see mostly sunny to partly cloudy. 83 degrees our pennsylvania suburbs where we have dry conditions. so closer look here. we have some mid to upper 80s too. 85 degrees west bradford township. kenneth square is near 90 degrees right now. so some of our suburbs do heat up quite a bit dmending what neighborhood you're in. 83 degrees melbourne, 84 exton. collegeville, a little high on the reading so most likely close to 90 degrees. 86 ft. washington, 86 north wales and in bucks county, temperatures mostly in the low 80s. quite a difference here. bensalem, 82, newtown 82 degrees as well. we're all nice and dry at the moment except for a few tiny sprinkles around. one small shower here. we have not seen much in the way of rain today. just a random pop-up shower. but there is one now trying to develop a little more. it's fairly small. it's moving into south philly here. but the heaviest of sit right around 76 moving towards 95 in south philly.

this is going to try to move into the philadelphia area, but a lot of these showers have really struggled to hold together. so i think over the next hour or two we could see a couple more pop-up showers. i don't think it's going to be a big deal though. for tomorrow we're going to be warm but not as hot as today. so the warmth does continue. that's our first headline as we move forward in the forecast. 78 degrees tomorrow in redding through the lehigh valley. bethleh bethlehem, 78 degrees. we'll have an east wind tomorrow, an onshore wind from the atlantic so it will be a little cooler. 78 degrees phoenixville, 79 west chester. we'll still be warm. it will still feel in some cases like summer warmth. 80 degrees fair mount, 83 degrees mt. airy. tomorrow, upper 70s for haddenfield, mostly sun-in skies. at the shore, onshore wind, 72 galloway township, 70 degrees atlantic city, 70 in avalon. you're in delaware along the beaches like rehoboth, the

onshore wind should only give you the low 70s. dover 77 degrees. wilmington coming in at 78 degrees. before the week is over we have some rain in the forecast. thunderstorms return as we go into friday. here's future weather. we could have some patchy fog overnight tonight. tomorrow afternoon we really do look to be on the dry side, just some more clouds moving in. then we go into friday. you see some scattered showers and storms trying to develop in the early morning hours. some models are even putting it in in the afternoon. so we'll have to watch that very closely. but we do have rain in the forecast before the weekend gets here. for the weekend, though, we have kind of a half-and-half forecast. drier saturday but then we have some rain coming back. as we go into sunday. here's your weekend forecast for friday, showers and storms moving through, kind of scattered in nature. for the pennsylvania suburbs, 83 degrees if you are in the lehigh ñ nw jersey, in the suburbs of new jersey closer to the shore, 72 degrees. saturday we're looking dry. temperatures mostly right around

>> reporter: no secret how much we love our pets. daisy is 12 weeks old. her cute face will join the database fur alert. >> i want to send fur alert to rest of the community. >> reporter: consider it an amber alert for lost pets, a free download that utilizes gps technology. fur alert puts lost dog owners and finders in touch with each other. a push notification sent to your phone gives you all the details. >> you get a picture, a map of where the pet was reported missing, details about the pet and the owner's contact information so you can quickly make contact even if you can not or will not approach the animal. >> good boy. it's an awesome idea. it's scary to lose your pet. he's new to me so he's not real familiar with the area and it's nice to know there's something out there to help find him. >> that family at that moment, that is an emergency. >> reporter: in 2015 alone gloucester township police got 103 calls for lost animals. they also found 80 strays. in one of their facebook posts about a lost dog, it was shared
