polls today. regardless of the outcome, it appears hillary clinton can now start looking ahead to the general election. a new poll released this morning shows mrs. clinton has increased her lead over presumptive republican nominee donald trump in a head to head matchup. she leads 48% to 44%. her lead increased nine points since last week and may reveal the impact of her speech last week. >> primary and caucusgoers are headed to the polls in california, montana, new mexico, the dakotas, and of course, new jersey. nbc10's matt delucia has more on the voting in the garden state where people are casting ballots for more than just the presidential candidate. >> we still have work to do, don't we? >> the buzz this morning may be centered around those running for president, but there are others on the ballot. those who share your voice in washington and elsewhere. incumbent democratic congressman

the polls are open in new jersey until 8:00 this evening. in cherry hill, matt delucia, nbc10 news. >> and nbc10 has you covered throughout the day. we'll have live reports from across our entire region and beyond as we update you on the presidential as well as the local races. >> and police this morning are searching for two men who kidnapped, robbed, and shot a delivery man over night. pamela osborne has an update on the investigation from southwest philadelphia. >> vai, without a doubt, terrifying night for that delivery driver. he's in stable condition right now, as police search for the two men who they say shot him execution style over $60 and a cell phone. it was just before 11:00 monday night when a 35-year-old pizza delivery driver from chillen pizza left to make a delivery. >> it's not right. it's not right. >> what happened next had this neighbor shaking his head. once he got to beaumont street,

the driver got a call from one of the men who placed the order. he said he would be right down. so the driver was getting the food together when all of a sudden two men came up, forcing him inside of his own car. they drove him away from this location. the two suspects drove the delivery driver to the area of warrington and cobb's creek. once there, they forced him out of his car and onto his knees. they went through his pockets and stole $60, but they wanted more. >> tell them it's not enough, tell him to get on his knees. one of the males returned to the cark, trying to run him over. >> the victim tried to run away. the suspects again forced him to his knees. this time, one of the men shot him execution style before driving away from the scene in the victim's car. that car, a gold toyota corolla, was found a few blocks away. >> he's yelling for help, finally he collapsed. police are called. they arrive on the scene. >> responding officers drove the victim to the hospital.

was sad to hear that the victim who was trying to make an honest living was hurt so badly while doing just that. >> when you don't have money in your pocket, they're going to get it best way they can. >> to make matters worse, police believe the suspects they're looking for are juveniles. >> it's not right for kids to be doing that, you know? i mean, you have to get out and start looking for work or do something. >> and police are still looking for those two suspects. early indications were that these two suspects could be from the neighborhood. so they're asking anyone who has reporting live in southwest philly, pamela osborne, nbc10 news. >> meanwhile, a 5-year-old chester boy is in the hospital after being shot inside his home by gunfire that came from outside the home. sky force 10 was over the scene last night in chester. the boy's mother told police she

was cooking dinner when shots tore through the window curtains. the father covered two younger children to protect them, but a bullet hit the 5-year-old in the arm and lodged near his shoulder. medics took him to the hospital where he remains in stable condition. police are investigating that shooting. police need your help to find a perp they say is responsible for killing a 78-year-old man last week. police issued an arrest warrant yesterday for this man, quintis clark. police say he broke into the victim's home before killing him. police have linked clark to joseph daley's missing blue van. this is it. this is the van. daley was beaten and strangled to det last week inside his home. members of the american legion post talked about daley's importance to their community. >> he had a heart of gold. he would give you the shirt off his back if he had nothing else. and if you talk to any residents in the community, they would tell you that. he was a hard-working guy. >> there's a $20,000 reward for information leading to clark's

arrest and conviction. nbc10 cameras are there as a sexual assault suspect is taken into custody. philadelphia police say the suspect approached a victim out suthe wawa on state road. he asked her for a cigarette and forced her into a wooded area where he assaulted her. she managed to break free and call police. officers caught the suspect on a bicycle two blocks from the scene. >> chaka fattah is back in court as the defense presents it case in his corruption trial. the prosecution wrapped up friday. the government said he misspent campaign money on his son's college loan debt and used grant money to pay off a loan. he also took bribes to secure a federal appointment for his friend. fattah says he is incent. his team of lawyers contend gifts were favors because they were good friends who just enjoyed each other's company.

this is yerl morning. some neighbors said they were nervous after learning they let their pets outside just about the same time the bear was rambling around. emergency management officials posted the video on facebook. they're urging anyone who spots the bear to contact authorities. a new look for the cincinnati zoo. visitors get their first look at the redesigned gorilla exhibit after a 3-year-old boy fell into the exhibit last month. plus, colin unleashes heavy rain and strong winds on parts of the southeast, where the tropical storm is headed next. sheena. >> well, it's not heading here, vai, i can tell you that. we do have a chance for isolated showers later today. warm day today, but tomorrow, big difference with our temperatures. i'll show you that forecast coming up.

the cincinnati zoo's gorilla exhibit is back open this morning for thefirst time since a young boy fell into the enclosure. it now has a higher re-enforced barrier. it has raised the barrier to 42 inches and added solid wood beams to the top and knotted rope netting to the bottom. the zoo released a statement saying the exhibit goes above and beyond standard safety requirements. >> meanwhile, the local prosecutor announced that the mother of the 3-year-old boil who fell into the enclosure will not be charged with a crime after reviewing the evidence, the prosecutor said the little boy simply, quote, scampered off.

well, we are really heating up outside right now. temperatures in the 80s already, philadelphia now coming in at 81 degrees. 76 through many of our pennsylvania suburbs. here's a close look at your neighborhood temperatures. 84, parkside in the philadelphia area, 84 west mt. airy. 81 degrees in bustleton. these numbers will be getting into about the mid to upper 80 throughout the afternoon today. also with your new neighborhood weather, your seven-day forecast is always scrolling at the bottom of the screen for you. philadelphia skyline looking good, or at least what we see of the comcast center. sunny skies outside in philadelphia right now. by 1:00 p.m., 84 degrees should be the temperature. at least through most of the philadelphia area. some spots, some neighborhoods are coming in at 84 right now. by 4:00 p.m., we could see an isolated shower around with temperatures still in the mid-80s. a look at the radar. heavy rain offshore. that rain is moving away. we're dry, but we have a cold

front off to our west. now, today, we're going to stay dry most of the day with pop-up isolated showers here this afternoon. and in that cold front will swing through and give us cooler temperatures tomorrow. now, earlier this morning, we did have tropical storm colin off the florida coast, but now it is really becoming disorganized. it's no longer tropical storm. all this moisture you see off the coast of north and south carolina, that is still what is left over of tropical storm colin, but it is continuing to move out to sea so we don't have to worry about that. this morning, though, we dealt with the warm and muggy weather. this afternoon, we'll be dealing with the warm and humid weather, with a chance of an afternoon pop-up shower. temperatures mid to upper 80s. by tomorrow, though, we have more shower chances in the forecast, but it will be cooler. here's the future weather. by 4:00 p.m., isolated pop-up showers i was talking about. if you see one of those, it will cool your temperatures down briefly. then the overnight hours, we dry up. there's 8:00 tomorrow morning, more clouds come back, maybe a few light showers north and west

wounded hero 5k and concert, and it celebrates those who were severely injured in line of duty. here to tell us more, the program director and case manager for operation war 57th honor and courage program. she's here with her son, marine staff sergeant luke, and spearheading the honor and courage program, and they're joined by corporal tyler southern wounded in afghanistan six years ago. heather, tell us about your organization and how you became involved with those who continue to serve. >> our organization helps support our severely wounded service members and their families through many different programs that we have. we have the service dog program. i myself run our honor and courage program. we have a 24/7 crisis line that i operate for veterans who, you know, they just need to talk or need a shoulder to lean on. we're there for them. like you said, luke spearheaded

the program. yeah. >> that's very nice. i'll get to you in a second. tyler, tell us about your injuries and what life has been like for you since coming home from afghanistan, five, six years ago? >> six years ago, yes, sir. may 5th, 2010, steps on homemade explosives. spent two and a half years in the hospital in bethesda. >> both legs and an arm. >> they had to rebuild my arm from the elbow down. i was at the hospital for 2 1/2 years doing limb salvage. shortly after i was injured, started dating my wife who came up to be my caregiver. we got married within a year later. >> you met -- >> we were friends in high school. she came up to be my caregiver. and we just had our second child in february. >> wow. that's fantastic. tell me what saturday's event means to you, tyler. >> this will be my third. just seeing all these people that have never met me or may

ferguson, died near him home in coral springs, florida. he gained notoriety on youtube before fighting professionally. he fought in the first ever nationally televised mm ara fig. >> philly slugger ryan howard got a nice ovation from fan s following an ugly incident over the weekend at the ballpark. people rose to their feet to applaud him before his only at-bat last night. philadelphia police are still waiting to review surveillance footage of the moment a fan threw a beer bottle at howard at the end of saturday's game. howard was not hit by the empty bottle, but he was very upset about the fan's reaction. he says he does not blame all the fans and he says the person who threw the bottle was just one bad apple. obesity in america continues to be a major health crisis. and the news is better for some groups but worse for other. government weighs in with some brand-new information just released.

over the zika virus which is known to cause severe birth defects. >> this is an important week for an organization working to end blood cancer. the 2016 leukemia and lymphoma society's man and woman of the year campaign wrapped up friday night with a big event. here to tell us more about it is ellen, the xegative director of the eastern pennsylvania chapter of the leukemia and lymphoma society, and also mary, who was named the 2015 woman of the year. thank you both for being here. ellen, tell us about why this is such an important campaign for your organization? >> this is a great campaign. the 17th year we have been doing it in eastern pennsylvania, and each year, it seems to get more and more exciting. a great campaign because we introduce a lot of new people to the work of the leukemia and lymphoma society. many times the 15 candidates who are competing for man and woman of the year, they bring people that aren't familiar with the campaign to the leukemia and lymphoma society and get them

very excited about our research. >> fantastic. mary, you were honored at last year's woman of the year. tell us why it's so important for you to support the leukemia and lymphoma society. >> it's important to me because i'm a survivor, five years and i learned about lls as i was going through my treatment. they're very committed to funding research for blood cancer, and i'm here today because one of their drugs, one of the drugs that i was given was actually funded through lls. >> wow. >> it's really important to me. and as ellen said, it's a terrific way to get involved. >> and it's not just -- i think my sense is when you have been saved because of a drug or because of research, your hope is that everybody else -- >> absolutely. >> -- will get access to the same treatment. tell about some of the people being honored. >> we have a wide range of candidates, different ages, people that are executives in companies, we have people that are nurses. we have somebody who is a young
