eagles wrapped up practice? good evening, everyone. i'm jim rosenfield. philadelphia police are investigating a woman's claims against nelson aguilar inside cheerleader's gentlemen's club. joining us live from police headquarters, randy gilhen ha y and a sframt the eagles put out >> reporter: jim, police say their detectives have not yet interviewed anybody from the eagles' organization nap could be coming. meantime, special victims detectives are speaking with the alleged victim, who's an exotic dancer from the club you mentioned in south philadelphia. police say that 27-year-old dancer working at the cheerleader's gentlemen's club file add police report yesterday afternoon accusing a member of the philadelphia eagles of sexually assaulting her inside the club. >> we're apparently investigating an allegation of a sexual assault. >> reporter: police haven't released names4ç only saying th

investigation involved somebody from the eagles. >> involving allegedly a member of 9 philadelphia eagles organize. at this point in time our special incidents team is investigating. >> reporter: indicating aguilar is being investigated. the organization has been in contact with nelson and with proper authorities in philadelphia. because of the legal nature of his matter we will have no other comment. aguilar was the 20th pick in last year's draft, played college ball in california and is originally from nigeria. his attorney tells nbc 10 he has not been involved in any criminal conduct. police say no charges have been filed and their detectives have not interviewed anyone from the eagles, but that could be coming. >> no one has been charged with anything mr. preside anything in respect is no warrant. we're currently going through the investigative process, in

the early stages and quite some time before we move into anything else. >> reporter: and i also spoke with an attorney represent be the cheerleader's gentlemen's club saying they are aware of these allegations and are fully cooperating with police. live at police headquarters, randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. so who is nelson aguilar? he wears number 17. this is his second season in the nfl. the eagles picked aguilar with 20th pick in last year's draft. he started 12 games, had just 23 catches and aguilar went to the university of southern california. we'll continuelxa÷ to follow th accusations against him and brick you upd bring you update as we get them. in bucks county, skyforce 10 and emergency crews rescued and 18-year-old who fell about 100 feet here. this happened in the area of tory road. look at this. you can see crews pulling the young man along a backboard

here. delicate operation. not clear how the teenager fell or if he was injured at all. so the weekend is here. we're looking at a warm saturday morning, but severe storms are headed our way tomorrow as well. nbc 10 chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz here with the forecast. >> we've issued a first alert for portions of the area. the areas most likely to see the severe weather. although most of the day will be fine. we have burks county, pa suburb, chester, bucks and central new jersey especially mercer county. that's from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, the main threat. damaging winds, could also see some hail. those storms are possible from the jersey shore all the way back to past detroit. so it's a very large system that's going to be moving through. the higher risk in our area, lehigh valley, burks county,

after this broadcast. back here at home, if you take septa, your ride's about to get easier. the transit agency thinks so, anyway, because septa rolls out a new system to buy tickets starting next week. nbc 10's rosemary connors is here with details on the septa keycard. >> the key is like a credit card for public transportation. you don't throw it away at the end of the day or week or month like a pass. the goal, make the experience bet around quicker. >> i'm going to try to get out here monday to get one. >> reporter: regular riders like tamika jenkins have been waiting for this convenience for quite some time . >> it had to be a few years ago talking about upgrading the system. >> this has taken a while to get here, but these projects are very complicated and time consuming wherever they've been done in our country. >> reporter: and septa wanted to get it right.

starting monday at 6:00 a.m., 10,000 riders, first come, first served will be able to purchase the septa key. it's a reloadable electronic fare card available through kiosks located at 12 stops along the broad street and frankford line. >> we did this to make travel convenient. if people have waited in lines it buy their monthly or weekly pass, that's going away. >> even if i don't have tokens, try to remember to have exact change, a hassle. >> reporter: a student who interns in center city is onboard. >> sounds more eco friendly to not be throwing away passes each week. >> again, yes, the point. hold on to this card. when the pilot program kicks off on monday, the key card can be used on all mass transit, except regional rail. that will come onboard later. as i mentioned 10shgs,000 commu 10,000 commuter try it out first. the system expands to everybody in the coming months's meantime, if you have the traditional

weekly or monthly passes, continue to use them. they'll accepted as well. and no fare hikes on new jersey transit. today the agency revealed its proposed budget, and nj transit expects ridership to increase almost 2%. the budget proposal will be presented next week. quick work to catch a man in connection with an attack on a woman on the schuylkill river trail. they have a suspect in custody for the stabbing. witnesses told police a man followed a woman yesterday afternoon, and when the two got to walnut street witnesses say he cut the woman across her forehead with a sharp object. she's okay this evening. new at 6:00, atlantic city has a new fire chief tonight, and it will cost the cash-strapped city half what it paid his predecessor. promoting 28-year veteran scott evans to chief. he'll make $154,000 a year. in decision 2016, hillary clinton is going after donald

trump. today clinton told planned parenthood when donald trump says, let's make america great again, that's code, she said, for let's take america backward. it's been a busy day for clinton. this morning the presumptive democratic presidential nominee met with massachusetts senator elizabeth warren. warren's name has come up as potential vice presidential running mate. meantime, a handful of protestors interrupted donald trump today during this gathering of evangelical christians. the presumptive gop nominee spoke at the faith and freedom coalition conference in washington this afternoon. trump supporters responded to the protest with chants of "usa." pennsylvania governor tom wolf wants the military to fund blood tests for nealy 70,000 people in montgomery and bucks county who may have been contaminated to exposed water.

they called 0 on more to address this concern. dozens of public and private wells were taken off-line because of contamination from unregulated chemicals at three nearby military businesses. a jury from outside the state, both prosecutors and frein's defense attorneys made a deal today to move that trial outside pike county. the defense argued frein couldn't get a fair trial locally because of heavy media coverage about the case. frein managed to avoid capture for seven weeks. a judge says he will likely approve the deal. investigators say frein shot and ed bryon dickson and injured alex dougies. prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. and dismissed in camden county, a police officer accused of files false reports. prosecutors charged douglas dickinson with simple assault. 18 cases tossed out because

dickinson would be the only officer called to testify. dickinson joined the camden county police force in 2014. a fund-raiser begins in less than an hour for the family of a fallen police officer. the officer died after he collapsed during a police fire hockey game. passed away back in april. he worked for the philadelphia police department. he leaves behind a wife and three children. tonight is a fund-raiser starting at 7:00 in windwood. [ sirens ] >> when you hear that, an ambulance coming down the street, you assume it's headed to an emergency. many times that is not the case.

and it's putting people with real emergencies at risk. so today philadelphia is sending a message to the public. in a big way. nbc 10 joins us now from chinatown to explain. andrea? >> reporter: you may have heard the sirens, medics are always on the go trying to keep up with growing demand including the ones here at this station. the facts of the matter is that thousands of calls they respond to are net necessary, and that's why the fire department is launching a campaign saying this -- ambulance misused -- may cost lives. how do you know when is the right time to call an ambulance? >> well, when you can't handle them. like, my sister couldn't even walk. >> people with drugs and heroin around here, they're just laid out. we call quite often around here. >> reporter: a true emergency like this one, billboards going up in neighborhood where the

fire department says too many calls. part of a new ambulance misuse campaign urging philadelphians to think twice before calling 911 when it's not a life or death situation. >> not going to happen. i don't care where you put your sign. >> the worst case scenario, a paramedic unit tied up in an area on a not medically necessary call or giving somebody a ride to the hospital and there's a cardiac arrest right around the corner and it takes that much longer to get a paramedic unit to the incident that really needed one. >> reporter: according to the philadelphia fire department last year more nan 250,000 calls for an ambulance. about 79,000 deemed medically unnecessary. meaning insurance companies would not pay for it. >> it's folks calling for other reasons, like they need a prescription refilled or a ride to the hospital to get otherwise. >> reporter: and the call volume increa increases. >> make the decision. >> reporter: when seconds count they want to be able to respond

as soon as possible. required to transport patients to the hospital even if it's deemed medically unnecessary and if the insurance companies don't pay for it, taxpayers usually do. reporting live in chinatown, andrea thomas, nbc 10 news. >> good lessons there. and this real emergency, a south jersey man jumped into the arms of a neighbor to es flames from a late-night fire. it quickly spread through this home. two trapped. two on the second floor. one on the third. >> my brother and i are over there trying to get him out of the second floor. >> to see him next to a flaming house, catching somebody jumping out of the second story window was a treat. >> two of the three men are already out of the hospital, but the home is a total loss. sometimes you don't see the great stuff of what these officer doss in the community. today we did. philadelphia officers from the 5th district and the captain having a blast with first

graders at emack ck kimmaculate mary today. sirens out, and a lot of fun. 3,000 new jersey officers carrying the torch for the special olympic games. nbc 10 caught up with them in maple shoitds to maple shade. touting the light. opening ceremony featuring more than 2,500 athletes. >> announcer: now, your nbc 10 first alert neighborhood weather with chief meteorologist glen "hurricane" schwartz. the great majority of the weekend will be just fine, but there may be a really rough hour in some parts of the area. that's why we mentioned the first alert for lehigh county, burks county, central jersey and in mercer county, for example nap is from saturday 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. across the area, but in any one spot, probably last an hour or less. and damaging winds is the main

threat. some hail possible as well. this covers a very large area. the overall threat, that is in the yellow, and in our region, the higher threats are farther to the north and west. lehigh valley down to the county's north and west of philadelphia. there is still a chance of severe weather in northern delaware and other parts of south jersey and philadelphia. we'll keep you updated on that when they extend the first alert if necessary. going to be hot saturday. that's, of course, one of the invi increed grents of the thunderstorms. 86 sunday. dry and pretty windy. even without the thunderstorms. the storms come on saturday. and they don't come in the morning. so you can probably get a lot of your outdoor work done, and -- this first system weakens as it goes through. maybe a little light shower, a brief shower. this is the stronger thing. look at that.

3:30 in the afternoon. you don't see those colors often on the future radar. that would be some pretty powerful thunderstorms, and moving fast, that means gusting winds. an hour later, 4:30, already past philadelphia on this model. other models still have it by 5:00. then can continues towards the jersey shore as we head towards dinnertime. so most of the day at the shore is going to be just fine. and then we get the thunderstorms. so these symbols indicate the first alert. so as of now, we don't have it in the philadelphia area but it's going to get near 90 degrees. allentown, 83. going to get less sunshine there, and that's why the temperature won't be quite as high. don't have the temperature out for the shore yet but southern delaware looks like it will be dry just about the entire day and possibly even the jersey

shore. now, the rest of the weekend, like i said, sunday is basically dry, but it's windy. it's warm, too. 86 degrees from philadelphia on sunday. and we had valley at 80 degrees. the shore is warmer sunday, because there's a sea breeze saturday. land breeze on sunday. and for the ten-day forecast, you have way above average temperatures tomorrow and sunday, but sunday and monday, strong, gusty winds, and then fairly close to normal temperatures but a lot of the end of next week, looks pretty dry and getting hotter. >> all right, hurricane, thanks. phillies tell us the results of an mri. good or bad news? and a major league debut, jimmy rollins out of a job again? that is next.
