parts of del waerks everyone seeing hot temperatures. it's 91 degrees at the airport. also park side, westmont area coming in at 90 degrees. here is what we're looking at. so far today we've gotten to 92 in philadelphia. tomorrow if we hit 90, three days, that's a heat wave. the average high this time of year is 84 degrees, so we're late above that. tomorrow we'll see the heat continue but we're also watching thunderstorms stretching from south of chicago through parts of canada. that will be here tomorrow. we could see a round in the morning and a round later in the afternoon, but not for everybody at the same time. i'll show you the timing in which neighborhoods can expect it. >> you can track the chance for storms and the heat wave right here on the nbc 10 app. right now we have new information about the terror in orlando. >> police have release add more detailed timeline of the

massacre at pulse nightclub back on june 12th. this as we get a look at 911 calls from the gunman. orlando police say officers rushed to the scene just two minutes after the initial shots fired call from the nightclub came. they got inside the club, exchanging shots with omar mateen. he forced himself into the bathroom and barricaded himself with hostages. during that time negotiators had three phone conversations with mateen where he pledged allegiance to the leader of isis. in one phone call he said, praise be to god and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of god. he referred to god in arabic and said, i let you know i'm in orlando and i did the shootings. >> the fbi says mateen described his actions in a chilling, calm and deliberate manner. as we said, mateen was on the phone while he was barricaded in the bathroom. that lasted for about three hours. no shots were fired then until s.w.a.t. burgs burst in and

rescued the hostages. today we know his body was released by the medical examiner. his autopsy report is not being released. you can read more of the 911 transcripts from the massacre right now on the nbc 10 app. cracking down on heroin. today pennsylvania's attorney general announced a bust of a significant heroin ring. the two men are facing a large list of charges. kathleen kane said they took part in a drug burst after searching their home and cars this month, investigators found thousands of pacts of heroin a street value of $85,000 along with cash and drug paraphernalia. >> we take these dealers off the streets, we take the slys off, we take the steelers off, we

take the money off. >> the suspects are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing later this month. here are some of the other stories making headlines. police are interviewing some of the 12 girls rescued from a bucks county man's house last week. they were found at lee kaplan's feasterville home after a tip. the girls rage from 6 months old to 18. kaplan is accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old after she was given to him by her parents when she was 14. we're told she is the mother of twro of the girls. the other nine girls are her siblings. in philadelphia it is official, philadelphia mayor jim kenny signed into law the historic beverage tax. distributors will have to pay the 1.5 cent per ounce tax beginning next year involvement of the cost is expected to be passed on to customers. opponents say they're not giving up the fight against the tax. officials in ft. dix

investigating this truck flipping on its side today. officials say twro people inside the truck were taken to the hospital. no word on their conditions this morning. no other vehicles were involved. jurors are still working to reach a verdict in the construction trial of congressman chaka fattah. nbc's deanna durante has the latest. >> reporter: about a half hour ago the judge told the jurors not to watch media reports or check social media and they'll be back tomorrow to deliberate. the congressman has been sitting in the courtroom, occasionally checking his phone and chatting with others. aside from a casual greeting, the congressman is not saying much. it appears the jury has not had many questions leading some to wonder how long it will take

before deciding if the congressman is convicted of corruption, bribery or misusing his office for personal gain. prosecutors say he hid an illegal campaign loan. they also say he diverted campaign funds to pay down his son's college loan debt. four jurors have been replaced since the start of the trial. the defense is maintaining all actions were legal and the congressman had no knowledge of the loan or the repayment and pointed out multiple times there's no document with the congressman's name on it. four jurors have been replaced. the latest replaced on friday morning. it became clear there was some sort of issue thursday afternoon a short time after the jury got the case. nbc 10 has obtained courtroom audio that shed some light on what happened with that juror when he was replaced late last week. you'll hear that audio tonight at 6:00. deanna durante, nbc 10 news.

philadelphia police need your help tracking down a man who robbed a 7-eleven in olney. last wednesday police say this guy entered the store, pointed a gun at a worker, demanded mon fri from the register, took off with some of that money. fortunately no one was hurt. a tire slashing spree in bucks county. dozens of tires flattened over the weekend as they sat parked in different lots. nbc 10's matt so lucia shows us the slasher caught in the act. >> reporter: take a good look. these are a few grainy images captured by surveillance cameras, images of a lone tire slasher committed on doing as much damage as possible. >> we were called and when we came in saturday morning, that's what we saw. >> reporter: lafferty chevrolet was hit around 3:00 sunday

some say that puts an end to a tumultuous stretch of trump's campaign. >> does this move help or hurt trump's campaign? >> i think it helps the campaign. i don't think it's as big of an issue as some are making it. we saul paul man fort getting more involved in the campaign. cory lewandowski did a great job in the primary cycle. didn't have to spend a lot of money, got his candidate elect dollar. 17 candidates across the board and his guy won. for the general election cycle, it's a different game. he'll put a different field on the team to get it done. >> trump's ship has taken on water. the question is whether firing lewandowski will right the sinking ship or blow another hole in the hull. we've seen very little evidence that donald trump is mature enough to run a responsible campaign.

let's turn to our weather now. live look at the navy yard in south philly where it's hot and sticky. let's get a check of the forecast with meteorologist sheena parveen. >> the heat is going to stick around for the rest of today. if we hit 90 degrees tomorrow, that's going to be an official heat wave, our second one we've already seen. to say is the first day of summer, not the first full day, that will be tomorrow. your seven-day forecast is always at the bottom of the screen for you. this is a life look over rojo both beach. plenty of shine sunshine and hot temperatures. we're tracking more heat and more thunderstorms starting with tomorrow and continuing again as we go into thursday. neighborhood temperatures mostly around 90 degrees right now. much of the area sitting around 90, even some areas close to the shore had gotten to 90 degrees. woodbine, 90.

cape may point coming in at 78 degrees, a big difference once you're right on the water there. ocean city, 77 degrees. atlantic city, 76 degrees. may's landing 87. we have mull luck township 88 degrees. here is a look at the radar, what we're watching is this area of showers not very organized, stretching from chicago up through parts of canada. that will be in place for tomorrow. it will be moving in this direction and we'll have pop-up thunderstorms. we don't have a large severe risk across our area tomorrow. that's going the lie down to our south. however, it does include sussex county. we'll be watching this as we go through the day tomorrow. that thunderstorm threat is pretty much for everyone. a pop-up thunderstorm is expected. for sussex county we could have substantial storms there. either way everyone has a chance for a brief pop-up thunderstorm during the day tomorrow. here is future weather.

get ready for more construction in philadelphia's spring garden neighborhood. today crews began their work on pennsylvania avenue between spring garden and 22nd street. they'll be resurfacing the road to improve conditions. the $1.4 million project is expected to be finished by the fall. a stretch of broad street is about to get more beautiful, all thanks to the democratic national convention. members of the philadelphia 2016 host committee joined the mayor and other city leaders to announce several beautification projects. there's ed rendell on north broad street. there will be plantings at rayburn plaza and sprucing up

essex and d.j. khalid. made in america will take place saturday and sunday. this is september 3rd and 4th right on the ben franklin parkway. let's hope it's not quite this hot during labor day weekend. a live look at the parkway. busy this time of day. let's get another check of the weather from meteorologist sheena parveen. >> it's still hot pour the first day of summer. temperatures still sitting in the 90s. if we hit this again tomorrow, we'll officially be a heat wave. 91 in philadelphia, near 90 in new jersey and pennsylvania suburbs. delaware coming in near 90 degrees. berks county mostly coming in in the mid 80s. 86 degrees. white hall coming in at 89 degrees, even through bethlehem looking at temperatures close to 90 degrees. so we still have some very warm spots right now. potential heat wave number two, if we hit 90 degrees tomorrow, which i expect much of the area

to be heating up again, but it is going to come with thunderstorms tomorrow in the morning very early. then we could have another round in the afternoon and then we go into thursday and we have another round of thunderstorms in the forecast. so far, though, if you're already looking ahead to the weekend, it looks good, it looks dry and it will be heating up once again. currently nice and dry. we'll stay that way tonight. the area we're watching for tomorrow, that's still pretty far away just south of chicago stretching up towards parts of canada, a little hard to make out. it's not very organized, doesn't have too much moi moisture. we expect very early pop-up showers and thunderstorms. this is 4:00 in the morning. i would say between 4:00 and 6:00 a.m., we could see showers move through, head to the shore by 7:00 a.m. and the second round could be here later in the day. that would mostly be south of philadelphia as the whole system moves through. can't rule out a strong brief thunderstorm tomorrow. by 12:30 on wednesday we're

mostly dry. that's going to be the dry day right in the middle of the week before our next round of storms by thursday. by thursday we could be looking another another round of storms. some of those could potentially be strong to severe. we'll be watching that as we get closer. tomorrow temperatures still 90 degrees. fox chase near 91. lands dale 88, allentown 88. if you're in new jersey expect the upper 80s in parts of h hattenfie hattenfield. dover, delaware, expect 87 degrees with thunderstorms later in the day tomorrow. so if we go into the weekend, not looking too bad. aside from tomorrow and thursday's storms, we'll start to heat up as we go into the week, saturday near 90 degrees and sunny. same thing on sunday. we have a stretch of potentially stormy weather asõ we go into next week. until we get there, we'll be watching the storms. make sure you have the umbrella tomorrow with the pop-up storms and again on thursday. we'll see more widespread rain

new video shows police removing several items from a bucks county home just a short time ago. this is the same home where officers rescued 12 girls last week. investigators are hoping the items they took today will help them figure out how the girls ended up there. the home is on old street road in feasterville. the owner is under arrest tonight. authorities say he fathered two of the children with one of the girls after her parents gave her

to him. nbc 10's monique braxton is live at the home where we've been digging for information since the story broke. >> monique, what did police take from the house today and how do they hope that will help? >> reporter: about three hours ago musical instruments were removed from this home. investigators say the young amish girls have been asking for those instruments. police hope it will make the children feel more at ease to talk. here is video you saw first on nbc 10. the lead investigator led his team back inside 428 old street road this afternoon. a short time later we captured this video of police bringing instruments and easels out of the home. a detective told us the children police believe were home schooled asked for their violins and flutes. when i asked why, investigators say they picked them up because they want to make the girls at the center of this multicounty investigation as comfortable as ib
