"nbc 10 news" at 5:00 starts right now. we've got heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds. those are just some of the conditions we can expect from a lain of storms heading our way. >> we got a bit of break today, but we're not out of the woods yet. let's go to meteorologist sheena parveen on what we can expect. sheena? >> a beautiful day across the aura. we have a nice break from yesterday's storms to tomorrow's storms. not everyone saw what we had. soe south delaware and jersey. what we're looking at is the rain backing off. doesn't look very impressive right now. we could see showers and storms moving in. we're still nice and dry and clear. tomorrow, severe storm threat. this yellow shaded area. it does include philadelphia, south jersey, and delaware. so as we go through the day tomorrow potentially in the morning and later at night, we

rosenfield. keith? skyforce 10 live overing a forest fire. authorities have evacuated several homes in browns mills. just about an hour ago officials say the fire was starting during range training at the base. fort fatly nobody was hurt. skyforce 10 was over another fire. a fire truck went up in flames. here you can see the bright flames, thick black smoke as well. the plant is on church road. at least one person is hurt. we're still working to find out how seriously. new at 5:00, a bucks county woman suspended from her job at acme for dressing in red, white, and blue is returning to work. she wore a red, white, and dress

right now at 5:00, main line murder that has the chester county neighborhood and police searching for answers. >> that's right. family and friends will say a final good-bye. they found denise barger's family at her home on heatherstone drive. that's where nbc 10's deanna durante is live this evening. >> deah narieanndeanna, what ar about her case? >> reporter: they did not want to talk about what happened. police at this point are not saying much about the case as well. it was a family member who discovered 62-year-old denise barger. one relative told me she was quiet, unassuming, and didn't deserve this.

differe tredffrin police are not saying how she died. on this street off 252, there's not a lot of traffic and residents who talked with us off camera say they don't remember seeing anything out of the ordinary. she was a recent widow and tax records show the home was sold on june 10th. barger was found dead inside seven days later. now, neighbors here again not saying much about what happened here. some of them saying they don't think if someone was responsible for the crime they would come back to the neighborhood. police will only say that her cause of death, blunlts force trauma, and they're calling this a homicide. live from berkeley, dina deanna durante, nbc 10 news. >> a car was stopped with a car

full of weapons. they're both from zionsville in lehigh county. officers stopped them at the holland tunnel tuesday. they were with another woman kimberly arrant. cramsey told them they were heading to new york to save a teenage girl with drugs. cramsey's daughter died over a drug overdose earlier this year. the three pled not guilty and were held on $75,000 cash bail. officers stopped their brightly colored vehicle because it had a broken windshield. they say they also found a stash of guns and knives along with ammunition, helmets, and night vision goggles. now to new information on the murder of a rising music star from burlington county. a friend of the man who killed christine grimmie said the gunman had become fixated on the singer last year. today the police released a report that includes an interview of man who zriems himself as the only friend of

kevin loibl. he murdered grimy after she signed autographs after her concert in orlando two weeks ago. he then killed himself. loibl's friend said he constantly watched grimmie's social media. she became a fan favorite on nbc's show "the voice." to this now, a delaware county family recovering after being rescued from their burning home. crews pull all five members after the fire escape this morning. three of them are children. the building is at yarnell and west third streets. one man tells us he was in bed when he heard shouting. >> i looked out the bathroom window, seen the apartment on fire. there's a family of seven next door. so my first instimgt was to try to get them out. i ran next door, was kicking on the door to help -- you know, make sure they got out.

>> investigators are still trying to figure out what started this morning's fire. well, school is out for summer. for students in philadelphia, today with us the last day. nbc 10 was at roxborough school as kids filed in. the same for shawmont. for some, the work is just beginning. mayor jim kinney wants to transform 25 schools into community schools. the goal is to have struggling cities' schools merge to open clinics and programs at the school's facilities. resources would be available to the children and parents during the day and then to the community after hours. >> most of our kids have needs well beyond the classroom, whether it's growing up in poverty or experiencing trauma or not having enough money to afford a winter coat or dental

it's hot enough. this weekend will be too. before the weekend we're tracking more thunderstorms. a beautiful look at rehoboth beach right now. we have thin clouds around. as we go through the rest of the afternoon, temperatures are going to stay on the warm side. so as we go through, our neighborhood temperatures were in the low to mid area. mostly low 80th at this moment, but if you're in new castle county, 85 degrees. 86 marshalton. 84 in odessa. if you're closer to the beaches, you're still looking at the low 80s. rehoboth beach coming in at 80. allendale coming in at 80. a nice warm day. a live look at satellite and radar, we're in the clear. you see a line of showers stretching all the way to chicago. they're not very organized right now. but as we go into tomorrow, we do expect a cluster of

tree after tree after tree thrown across lawns in cape may county. yesterday's storms tore off roofs, brought down wires, and pelted people with heavy rain. this is what first alert radar looked like yesterday as the strong storms moved quickly over cape may county, and take look at all those lightning strikes along with it. today's break from the storms gave dozens of people down the shore time to clean up that a lot of cleanup. ted greenberg takes us on a tour of one of the hardest hit areas. >> reporter: with both her front and backyards filled with toppled trees, a crushed pickup truck, and other damaged property, jessica hennessey is

the threat for severe weather not over yet. tracking another round of damaging stormed that are headed our way. nbc 10 news the alert sheena parveen has more on the conditions that could affect your neighborhood. sheena? >> yes, rosemary and keith, it doesn't look all that threatening. it's not very organized just yet, but by tomorrow we do expect it to be across part of the area. so we expect some thunderstorms to be rolling in, some of which could be strong severe. right now we're in the clear. we're dry, maybe a few sprinkles trying to move into parts of southern delaware, but for the most part this evening will be remaining dry and warm. take a look as we go through the evening. temperatures remaining in the 80s and staying warm overnight. now look at tomorrow night. 8:00 a.m. in the morning. some models are showing storms.
