7:08 am
drive when you have winds gusting near 60 miles an hour, it helps to flood the rain. we need an increase in hume, unfortunately, humidity will go up a touch, it's still going to be exceptionally hot. not record breaking. temperatures will be above average. that will make it very, very dichl for the four fighters trying to fight these fires. look at sacramento, 100 degrees, vegas 109. phoenix 109. this is still temperatures running five to 10 degrees above average. it will stay hot across most of california. the same goes for southern california with your highs close to about 105 to 110 degrees. we are looking at improvele on the coast, nothing is showing up on the radar right now. tomorrow should be dry. however, i want to mention there is the possibility by sunday that we could start to see more showers and more brief heavy downpours begin to working with
7:09 am
back in from the west. these have the potential, not producing ten inches like in recent flooding. still an additional half an inch up to an inch of rain will exacerbate any of the flooding still going on. so sunday is the day to watch in west virginia again. >> thank you. to politics now, more than 24 hoursf britain's shocking vote to leave the european union, the presidential candidates are taking this opportunity to go after one another. donald trump praising the vote as he tours his golf courses in scotland again today. we have coverage on both sides. we start with nbc's katy tur. >> reporter: good morning, it's amazing he was praising scotland, one of the few places that voted overwhelmingly to stay in the eu. donald trump is seeing this as a victory for him. thosei wanting to leave the sam points he tries to make on the campaign trail in america.
7:10 am

7:14 am
still technically in the race, clinton is working hard to rally the populist in her own party. she is expected to speak publicly for the first time tomorrow in indiana. >> msnbc contributor josh barrow. when you look at the parallels of what happened in britain with voters there and what's happening with voters here in the u.s. as we approach this election, do you see these competing world views as parallel situations? >> i think there are broad similarities. i think there was a populist movement behind brexit and donald trump. i think there are differences. first of all, everyone was surprised by the polls. lead led and the polls in the eu rising, it was still basically a tie, whereas, donald trump has trailed quite significantly in nearly all of the polling in this election and the

electorates are different here in the uk. 83% is white. 63% in the u.s. is white non-hispanics. they are a lot easier to succeed in britain that is more who m l homogenous over there. >> this was an emotional vote, because britain of all the countries didn't have the most reasons to leave the eu. >> yeah, the eu is a flawed institution t. biggest flaws relate to the euro, the currency, that caused big economic problems, especially in places like greece and italy. the uk isn't in the euro. it doesn't have the problems that continental europe had with not being able to control its borders. a lot of the complaints about the eu made lessens from the uk. i think in large part, this wasn't about the economy. you had experts lining up saying this will be bad, predicting what happened in the markets yesterday. one of the leading campaigners to lead, he said this thing
7:16 am
during campaign that people in britain are sick and tired of experts. it sort of got made fun of at the time. the mood of the electorate were sick of being told, what was going to work in the economy, especially because so many things went wrong. there is a real decline of trust in experts and institutions. >> which is what donald trump supporters say all time. thanks so much, good to see you again. >> all of this is having a huge impact on world markets, also here at home. break this down for us. the dow closed 610 pints, that wiped out 8 million in value. >> good morning. >> yes, this is clearly important in the news, but for the average american, what does it mean to them? >> for the average american the first place they're going to notice is in their 401k. half of all americans have a 401 savings account, they have laws
7:17 am
of exposure, on average, they lost $3100. more long term americans will feel is this brings in all of this new financial uncertainty. that means the fed is a lot less likely to raise rates any time soon so that's food news if you are making mortgage payments, your rates will stay lower longer, it's bad news if you have a savings account, you are making basically zero interest still interest for those looking at their investments, yesterday the market took such a massive hit s. is that a shock hit? >> the markets didn't expect this to come. they don't know what is coming next. that's a flashing sell signal for investors. that has people biting their nails t. fundamentals of the economy is good. we're 5% unemployment, growing at 2.5%. >> that is good. what i found shocking is traders

fog. that will be the story overnight tonight into tomorrow. i certainly want to give you a heads-up on that. otherwise, clouds breaking by 11:00 a.m. i just looked at the new n.a.m. model. a few clouds sticking around and everything else is clearing as the high pressure system settles into place nicely for today and tomorrow. a change by monday into tuesday. by noon, afternoon hours, low dew points, mainly in the 50s. certainly very comfortable day in the forecast. take full advantage of that because we do have a muggier day by tomorrow. as i mentioned, the overnight fog. i mention that often especially because it gets a little bit soupier, thicker, the marine layer especially along the shoreline. notice the current wind speed and wind direction. even though we are not seeing anything outstanding we're seeing an easterly push due to a low pressure system 100 to 200 miles offshore. that's making the clouds stick around a little bit
