we're heading into another day of commuter headaches. septa says today's trains could be more packed than yesterday's. hillary clinton takes her presidential campaign to atlantic city today. the presumptive democratic nominee visit follows a pivotal move in her campaign. it's 77 degrees outside 4:00 a.m. good wednesday morning. i'm tracy davidson. let's get to sheena parveen and talk about the heat with her first alert neighborhood forecast and a look at communities across pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. sheena? >> a lot of heat in the forecast

for today. we did hit 90 yesterday. it starts with warm temperatures waking up to mid 70s in philadelphia. it's going to stay very warm today. hamilton, 69 degrees. we're really going to shoot up this afternoon. excessive heat warning for the entire philadelphia area. up to trenton, new jersey neighborhoods, new castle county, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. friday. we expect very hot temperatures in the mid 90s feeling closer to 100 degrees. you want to make sure you stay hydrated. try not to stay out in the peak of the day. it will be hot. temperatures today, between noon and 4:00 p.m., we should hid mid 90s in philadelphia and reading. stone harbor more like mid 80s. don't have to worry along the shore. in wilmington, temperatures in

the mid 90s. a hot one today. heat will continue. a heat wave in the forecast. we'll talk more about this and our next chance for thunderstorms. a look at the roadways this morning with jessica boyington. >> schuylkill expressway looks okay. no problems in either direction. eastbound from vine street expressway to 95 a six-minute trip. roads look good. i'm taking a look at 95. into center city southbound, no problem from woodhaven road to the expressway. we're following breaking news out of philadelphia's germantown neighborhood. a 15-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after being shot. this is a live picture from the scene. there are no arrests. we're gathering more information

about what happened and we'll bring it to you as soon as we get it. we also have new information from overnight on a 13-year-old boy in stable condition after he was shot in philadelphia's hunting park neighborhood. the incident started when a woman drove down the street and neighbors yelled at her to slow down because kids were playing on the block. she returned minutes later with a man in her car. he jumped out of the car and fired into the crowd hitting the boy in the leg. >> it's a shame that our young kids are the ones that are getting caught in this kind of things that are going on in the crossfire. i pray to god that he's going to be okay. >> police do not believe the teen was the target. they're searching for the white car the woman was driving. possibly a honda. it's 4:03. the septa slowdown could be worse this morning. according to septa officials, they predict more people will

return to work after the holiday and that means trains could be even more packed than they were yesterday. nbc 10's matt delucia is live at the septa station in montgomery county. you spoke with septa's general manager yesterday about the difficulties along the regional rail. fill us in. >> reporter: right. septa's general manager says that today could be worse. you have those people who may have taken that extra day off and continued on the july 4th holiday. here at the town stop, we haven't even a train as of yet. too early for that. we are seeing people show up for their morning commute. the stop here serviced by west trenton and doylestown line experienced delays and overcrowding yesterday. this is what it looked like at steps throughout the regional trail system. large crowds, long lines. some trains packed to capacity forcing some trains to pass by the remaining stops because they could take on no more passengers. i did speak with septa's gm yesterday at septa headquarters in center city and asked him

what his main concern is going into what will be the next morning commute. >> i'm worried about even more overcrowding tomorrow. we have been telling people and asking them to consider using some of our other forms of service. you know, especially as you get stations that are close into the city, the trains have run through a number of stations and they can be very, very difficult to get on. >> that's what we experienced yesterday. we did speak with a rail expert from the university of delaware about what's going on. we'll hear from him at 4:30. for now live, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. >> thank you. now a live look at 30th street station. septa is giving some riders a refund for the slowdown.

nbc 10's katy zachry is live with more. katy? >> one person wasting zero time responding to the fbi's decision not to go ahead with charges was donald trump. he called the system rigged. we've learned trump will be a main focus of clinton's remarks in atlantic city today. the former secretary of state and presumptive democratic nominee will speak to reporters on the boardwalk just after noon. a big topic is donald trump's business practices and multiple bankruptcies in that shore town. clinton's appearance comes one day after president obama campaigned on her behalf for the first time. it's the first time the two hit the trail this year. it's also one day after she learned the fbi will not proceed with charges for her use of a personal e-mail server when she served as secretary of state. still, the fbi director james comey called clinton extremely careless when handling this classified information. we'll have reaction from donald

numbers and dream big. good morning. we have a lot of stuff in the forecast over the next several days. the first headline, a heat wave that actually starts today. it's going to run through saturday. we're looking at several days with temperatures in the 90s. yesterday we hit 89 degrees. we were close to starting that heat wave yesterday. we do have to be at 90 degrees for three consecutive days which starts with today. mid 90s tomorrow. 97 degrees. friday, 97. that would make a heat wave. average high is 87 degrees. we'll be about 10 degrees above that over the next few days here. there's a warning in place. excessive heat warning for parts of the area where temperatures will be feeling close to 100 degrees because it will be so humid out. along with the heat, it's not going to be dry. it's going to be muggy. it will feel warmer. so today temperature around the

an 18-year-old florida mother is accused of using her infant son as a weapon to hit her boyfriend. at least 20 witnesses say that

they saw what happened. she was with her boyfriend on the beach as two started to argue. witnesses say they threw her 6-month-old at her boyfriend. the child fell to the ground facedown. >> she took the baby by the body and hit the baby against the man and threw it to the ground. >> she held the baby like it was a weapon and hit the male. >> the woman denies the charges and says it was her boyfriend that hit the child. the infant is okay. if released, the mother cannot be around her baby or the child's father. now from our delaware bureau, police hope new surveillance video will help find a man who tried to kidnap two women over the weekend. one of them a university delaware student. both incidents happened between sunday night and early monday morning outside neighboring apartment complexes on east main street in newark. take a look at the surveillance video from the main towers

apartments. at the top of the screen you can see a man walking through a parking lot early monday morning shortly before the second abduction was reported. both women were able to fight off the attacker. officials in camden are asking for your help to track down the arsonist or arsonists that burned more than a dozen homes. >> there's a fire. a huge fire. >> that frantic 911 call from one of four fours in camden on saturday. since then a total of 14 fires mostly in vacant homes. seven firefighters have been hurt battling those fires and officials want to find who's responsible before somebody else gets hurt. >> i hope they catch whoever is doing this. if it's a firebug or whatever arsoni arsonist, they have to catch them quick. >> if they see someone, they

should call police. >> lay down! >> this video could be the key in a lawsuit just filed against the lehigh county district attorney, county detectives and others. it shows police arresting the son of the former allentown police chief in whitehall township two years ago. christopher fitzgerald was acquitted of pointing a gun at detectives. a lawsuit claims his arrest was a case of racial profiling and political payback. we have reached out to the d.a.'s office for comment but have not heard back. a montgomery county man could face up to 12 1/2 years in jail on child pornography charges. he pleaded guilty yesterday to possessing and distributing sexually explicit images of kids. this is the second time he was charged with the same thing. a man who police believe was

responsible for the postponement of a concert is now charged with making terroristic threats. papou was released on $20,000 bond. he and another man made threats to a worker on sunday afternoon. police are looking for the other man. because of those statements, the band perry postponed their conference later that night. the band was scheduled to perform nearby at the freeman stage at bayside. authorities have not said what the threatening statements were that caused the show to be postponed. the group tweeted out the show was rescheduled for august 17th. good morning. it's a warm one outside. if you have not walked outside just yet, it's very warm and it's pretty humid. it will stay humid through the afternoon and combined with the heat we expect today, it's going

feeling closer to 100 degrees with that humidity. be dangerous heat if you're outside for a long period of time. you want to check on your neighbors. make sure you stay hydrated like i mentioned. here's what it's going to feel like. now temperatures will be running in the mid 90s as we go from today into tomorrow, friday and saturday but feeling around 100 degrees. especially tomorrow and friday. even for saturday. now, we do have afternoon thunderstorms in the forecast. not today though. they'll start tomorrow and then run through saturday and if you see one of those afternoon thunderstorms in your area because they'll be pop-up type, it will help drastically to lower your temperatures but we'll be heating up a lot before those thunderstorms get here. temperatures for today, 94 degrees in summerton. as we go into south jersey, we expect mid 90s to continue. 94 hamilton township. along the shore, wur not in tyo

governor tom wolf is coordinating a live forum on his facebook page starting at 11:00 this morning. post your questions under the comments section. on capitol hill lawmakers will meet for the first time to talk about legislation about the growing epidemic of opiate abuse. the house passed an amended version in may. lawmakers will work to resolve differences between the two versions of the bills. the nbc 10 digital team spent months on the streets investigating that problem of opioid addiction in our area and spoke to people struggling with addiction and talked to families and people trying to change the stigma. it's available now on the nbc 10 app. we're approaching the end of an era in the tech word. blackberry says it will stop making its classic model featuring its iconic push button keyboard. it was introduced in 2014. blackberry says it will focus on
