roadways. we've seen quite a bit of rainfall today. up through the lehigh valley, bucks county, light to moderate rain right near allentown and easton. as we go into the poconos, we have heavier rainfall. this has prompted a flood advisory. there is a threat for localized flooding, street and creek flooding until 9:30. maybe an inch of rain, possibly we'll see two inches by the time it's all said and done. now, for tomorrow we have a different threat out there. we have some excessive heat warnings, heat advisories for the area. temperatures will be in the 90s with the humidity feeling like triple-digit heat. we'll talk more about this and your weekend forecast coming up. now to decision ç2016 coverage tonight. the push for pennsylvania which will be a key battleground state in this november's election. today brand-new nbc news "wall street journal" maris poll shows the democrat hillary clinton is holding a nine-point lead over gop rival donald trump right here in pennsylvania. she has 45% there to trump's

36%. but that is a much smaller advantage than she had back in april. the poll taken after the fbi director said clinton was careless in how she handled her e-mails while she was secretary of state. nbc 10's aundrea cline-thomas joining us at the home of the upcoming dnc. what are both campaigns saying about getting the edge here in the keystone state. >> reporter: both the clinton and trump campaigns have similar grass roots game plans. now, they're knocking on doors, registering new voters, hoping to get people out to the polls. >> the margins are getting narrower every day. it's tilly going to make a big difference. >> reporter: in the basement of a cafe, they strategize. it's part of clinton's campaign effort to galvanize their base. >> i'll be working on voter registration, going out and standing in front of the local shops. >> reporter: the republican party is campaigning for donald

trump, going door to door on the weekends. >> seeing a lot of blue collars voting for barack obama in 2008, voted for barack obama in 2012, they will not be voting for hillary clinton. >> reporter: a new nbc "wall street journal" maris poll has hillary clinton up nine points over donald trump in pennsylvania. clinton was 15 points ahead in april. >> the fact that her numbers have dropped from the last polls that were taken shows more of the fbi investigation, benghazi, e-mails, it shows people do not trust hillary clinton. >> reporter: clinton's lead narrowed slightly when third-party candidates are factored in. despite her controversies, she remains ahead. >> it takes everybody. we can't just expect some people to vote, and then you don't get what you want because you sat back and you thought that the rest of us were going to carry you through. >> reporter: pennsylvania is a key swing state that will be crucial come november. >> philadelphia's very important. we're the largest city of any swing state in the country. this is where a lot of the focus is going to be in the coming

now approved a new contract. now to a story you'll only see on 10. a poor box bandit on the loose, caught on camera, targeting churches in at least two pennsylvania counties. police in ambler, montgomery county, released this photo of the suspect. he stole cash from donation boxes three times in the last three several weeks. according to police, a pastor of a delaware county church caught the same guy trying to steal from his church as well. >> we don't like that they's preying on people that are out there trying to help their communities. it's a little disturbing. >> police say the man's believed to be in his 40s and was seen leaving both churches in a newer black suv. in the lehigh valley, a community wants a killer off the streets after a popular neighborhood barber was shot right outside his shop in allentown. the newlywed and father was sitting outside his business along south 8th street when someone murdered him.

randy gyllenhaal live in allentown tonight. neighbors set up a memorial tonight. randy, those who knew the victim said he was friendly to everyone. >> reporter: yeah, neighbors said he would always sit outside of his barbershop, actually, right there, chatting it up with the entire neighborhood until yesterday when someone approached him, gunned him down and police say that killer still on the loose. loved ones of eric wagner say the 40-year-old barber wanted a fresh start for his new family. >> he wanted to cut hair. >> reporter: so he opened headliners barbershop and often sat outside greeting customers going home each day to his new wife and young son. >> he was all about the children and the family. they all looked up to him. they all loved him. they took somebody's father away from them. >> reporter: somebody walked up to his chair as he sat outside. witnesses heard almost a dozen shots. >> right here.

i started screaming and crying and hollering. >> reporter: the suspect ran off, and neighbors say he was acting strange, asking around for cigarettes prior to the shooting. and now the family of the victim is mourning a newlywed father and longtime mentor. >> he was a great man. >> reporter: his nephew said wagner taught him to play football, helping him secure a scholarship to rutgers next fall. >> took him from his son, family, his wife. crazq. now they've got to go through this. this is a big loss. i hope we get justice, though. >> reporter: the family says they don't know a motive for the shooting. meantime, police say they're still investigating. at this point no arrests. randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. a new woman is taking charge of caring for philadelphia's most vulnerable children tonight. jim kenny announcing the new commissioner of the department of human services.

dallas police officers who died in the line of duty last week. family and friends filled this church to remember and celebrate the life of corporal lorne ahrens, and thousands celebrated a funeral mass for michael smith. one of the daughters of brent thompson spoke at his funeral about how proud she was of her dad. funerals for the other two officers are scheduled for friday and saturday. four philadelphia police officers are right there in dallas until friday. they will attend funeral services for each of the officers killed last week. one of them telling nbc 10 it's important to support the other officers who are trying to heal. they said they also learned they aren't the only ones supporting dallas tonight. >> good to see the support from the community. so many people think that nobody backs the police. clearly people do. >> donations were being collected to help the officers and their families.

they were also paintings and flags. people could sign and send a personal message to the officers. tonight the ben franklin bridge will light up in blue. it will be in tribute to the fallen officers in dallas. looking live at the bridge right now which will join other bridges and buildings across the nation in paying tribute. nearly the same model robot used to kill the dallas sniper has been neutralizing dangerous situations in south jersey for years. only nbc 10 got a look at it today at the camden county sheriff's office. this robot can ke tect hazardous chemicals, climb stairs and defuse bombs. we asked the department if they would ever use the robot in the unprecedented way it was used in dallas. >> i would never rule out that we wouldn't. but it would be a very extreme case. >> dallas police chief david brown head se personally approved using his department's robot to kill the sniper and said he would do it again if necessary. the challenge of becoming a

police officer may be greater now than at any other time in recent history. today in south jersey, three dozen police recruits graduated from the gloucester police academy. cydney long takes us inside the ceremony.ç >> reporter: consider it unwavered devotion to protect and serve. 36 police recruits earned their diplomas today. they will join the ranks, and the pomp and circumstance without an especially poignant moment of silence for all law enforcement who have sacrificed their lives. a moment to reflect on the last week, police shootings nationwide, five officers killed by a sniper in dallas and pro and anti-police protests.

areas of rain here. that's where we have the flood threat. the flood advisory until 9:30, up to two inches of rain possible. localized street and creek flooding there. as we go through tonight, a lot of the rain continuing to dive down. then tomorrow morning, can't rule out patchy fog early. overall we'll be on the drier side tomorrow morning. the humidity will go up so you will definitely notice that. later in the afternoon, can't rule out showers, maybe a thunderstorm around. but with the humidity and the heat, temperatures will be feeling around triple digits. later tomorrow evening, it's still going to be very warm. we have the excessive heat warning out because of the heat and humidity coming. excessive warning with a heat advisory for surrounding areas. basically it's just going to feel around 100 degrees. that's why we have it out, both thursday and friday. potentially dangerous heat for pretty much the entire area. you don't want to be outside for several hours at a time. you want to stay hydrated. this is the kind of weather where you definitely do not want
