turkey. and the man who orchestrated it all lives in the poconos. and a teen age girl is shot. and a man in his 60s is dead. brandon hudson has been gathering information. >> reporter: police are down here. crime tape is on ninth street. it's strange someone would shoot and kell a 64-year-old man and two women, including a teenager. police arrived at ninth and somerset shortly after the shooting at 8:45. there were at least 11 shots fired. and that's how many shell casings they found on the ground. a 64-year-old man was shot in the back and died. a 48-year-old woman was shot in the chest, a life-threatening injury, and a 15-year-old girl

was grazed in the back. >> it's an unusual shooting. there's three victims. we don't know which of the victims was the intended target. all three victims are hit just one time. it's unusual for a 64-year-old male to be an intended target. >> reporter: police gave us a vague description of the shooter, saying he wore all black or dark clothes and carried the gun in the boot of his timberlands. detectives plan to talk to the 15-year-old girl once she is comfortable. live in north philadelphia, brandon hudson, nbc 10 news. at least 42 people are dead in the violence. the government says more than 100 people have been arrested. turkey's president says the entire plot is being orc straighted, half away a way here in monroe county, that's where an islamic preacher has lived in exile for more than 15 years. he's an enemy of the president, but is he the mastermind or a scapegoat? >> this is a situation that is changing by the minute. people loyal to the turkish president are flooding the streets to take on the members of the military who tried to seize power. as explosions and gun fire continue in that country tonight, a resident says the rebels will pay a heavy price for treason. chaos in turkey tonight, which began with troops sealing off bridges and taking command of government buildings and tv stations. >> people were running off the main squares, off the main streets. >> reporter: the coup, aimed at

president erdogan. he was on vacation and later used face time to urge people to get in the streets and support him. explosions and gunfire rocked cities. including the parliament building. the president later appeared at stunl's airport and said the people responsible for this would pay. >> the country cannot be governed from pennsylvania. >> reporter: erdogan has laid the blame at the man who lives here in the pocono mountains. in a large compound. the islamic cleric lives in exile and is now an enemy of the turkish president. but an expert we spoke to said it's unlikely he is behind this. >> it's kind of a knee-jerk reaction to blame it on him. but the extent to which he has that kind of reach and for him to reach into the military, i think is really stretching it. >> now he is responding to all this.

his organization put out a statement tonight saying it condemns that coup and the president's comments linking the man are highly irresponsible. i'm drew smith, nbc 10 news. meanwhile, france has called up thousands of reserve security forces as authorities try to determine why a tunisian delivery man took the wheel of a 19-ton truck and drove through a terrified crowd on bastille day. 84 were killed, more than 200 wounded. no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. the french president says it was undeniably terrorism. the man aimed directly for children, for mothers pushing strollers and families cowering behind plastic benches. >> people started running from all directions in a panic.

bernie sanders. that's on monday july 25th. former president bill clinton will speak on tuesday. president obama and vice president biden on wednesday and chelsea clinton will speak ahead of her mother on thursday. guess what, you can expect parking restrictions when the convention comes to town. today the city said it will ban median parking. this will given sunday july 24th. it runs through the 29th. curbside parking will still be allowed. in addition, the city wants you to check your street signs to make sure there aren't any temporary restrictions. another change to expect? postal service will temporarily close some blue collection boxes in several zip codes, including 149102, 19106, 19107. for more information on the postal collection box closures
