territory. sunshine, a warm day. the humidity will be falling as the day goes on. we'll go through this day hour by hour. back in a few minutes. first alert traffic first with jessica. >> an accident scene cleared out of way. there was a vehicle off into the center median there. it's in the middle of a work zone as well. it looks like it's still there. there were emergency crews on the scene that were trying to get this accident cleared out of way. no delays either way on 422. out in pennsauken, a downed pole and wires on route 130, around 612. that might be in the area, clearing as well. no big problems at the lake, 13 minutes both of them into center city. on the blue route southbound, sky kell 95 into the city.

hearing. >> hi, faet. >> reporter: hi indicate. he wants a long-term response by septa and answers what they are going to do. we've heard from septa in the past that the repairs could take upwards of a couple of months to complete. state representative kevin boyle will hold that house democratic policy hearing later on this morning. federal officials will be speaking today, including septa's general manager. more than 100 regional railcars were taken out of service the weekend of july 4th because of a defect in the cars, a crack. since then, septa changed scheduled, borrowed cars from other agencies and many riders have faced overcrowding issues and delays. i will talk to train riders this morning as they get through week three of these problems. the meeting will get under way at 10:00. it is open to the public, by the way, if you are interested. there will be a core of services on the 8400 block in northeast

village. i'm live, matt delucia. nbc 10 news. happening today in montgomery county, this morning there will be a meeting about race relations, community members, police lawmakers and the naacp will meet in ardmore at a coffee shop talking about how to de-escalate situations and unify communities. in chester county, an attack on a police officer is caught on dashcam video. you can see a man to the right of the screen who appears to wait for the police officer who drive-by on ease lincoln highway. he then launched a rock into the officer's windshield shattering it. >> he's right there on him. did pick the rock back up. initially hit the police car with. >> an officer who responded as backup, broke his sternum. he's charged with aggravated

assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. in delaware county, strong storms brought down trees and damaged homes leaving several people without power even into this morning. havertown was one of the hardest hit areas. swiss farms on eagle road, it was a team effort to clean up after a silo collapse. the 40-year-old landmark fell in about 20 seconds. >> we had another big lightning bolt and the wind was picking up. we heard a big thud. thank god, no car was in sight and no one got hurt. that's the most important thing. everything else can be repaired. >> an interesting view of roof repairs from inside the house being fixed. strong winds blew away piece was that roof at a home in white hall township, lehigh county. also in havertown, we were above a home on summit hill road where trees hit a deck narrowly

missing the home. no storms today and the humidity is coming down. but it's going to be a warm afternoon. 74 degrees in philadelphia. 82 degrees by 10:00. notice as we go into the afternoon, the feels-like temperature is equal to the actual temperature. a sign that the humidity is going to be falling during the day, making for a much more comfortable and sunny day. 70 in the suburbs, 78 at 10:00. into the low 80s the 8:00. 83 degrees at lunchtime. 85 at 2:00. again, those feels-like temperatures are the same as the temperature. so the humidity is not going to be a factor. not going to feel any hotter because of the humidity today. a lot more comfortable today and tonight and tomorrow. even the new jersey, 71 degrees. look at that. 81 degrees at 10:00. running warmer at noontime. 86 and 88 degrees at 2:00 this afternoon. going to be a warm summer day today. even at the shore. 85 degrees at 2:00.

republican national convention continues now. i'm tracy davidson. we've been spending a lot of time with local delegates. dennis palmer, the new jersey delegate from blackwood. he's sending a picture every day with a law enforcement official and posting it on social media to say thank you. we're also seeing pictures of the local delegates on the floor. they're saying they're enjoying the action, even the chaos on the rules vote yesterday morning. pennsylvania delegates say their seats are sweet, awesome. just three rows from the front. we'll hear from local delegates, their reaction to melania's speech last night.

welcome back. it's 4:25. happening today, a push to make roosevelt boulevard safer for drivers, bicyclists and walkers. this moerng, advocates are calling for the passing of a bill adding automated speed cameras on the road in northeast philadelphia. the pilot program would automatically ticket drivers speeding on the boulevard. it's one of the most dangerous and deadly roads in

philadelphia. a show of support for a police officer who survived being shot seven times. nbc 10 was at sheer brilliance in norwood, delaware county. the salon held a benefit for officer chris dorm an. he's been recovering after getting shot in full croft last month. they offer clients $10 haircuts and raffles and there was a raffle and officer dorman made an appearance during that fundraiser. >> it's amazing. it's incredible to see -- like my chief said, the whole county came together to support the department, myself and my family. it's real nice. real special. >> and more honors for officer dorman last night. this time he got a special salute during the phillies game. he was escorted on to the field where he waved hello to the crowd. live view for summer city. a bit of a breeze blowing.
