4:00 a.m. on your thursday. we'll be right back with tracy in just a few minutes but first, you might notice a change as you walk outside this morning. bill henley is standing by with your forecast. >> good morning, katy. back on the roads in the suburbs, new jersey as well, it's 72 in philadelphia, low 60s for lehigh valley and delaware you will see lots of sunshine today. it's a bit hotter this afternoon. yesterday, we topped out at 91 degrees. upper 80s for the suburbs while new jersey reaches into the low 90s with the shore being the exception. lower 80s. plenty of sunshine for the lehigh valley and delaware, too. i'll go through the day, hour by hour, when i'm back in a few minutes, jessica boyington has your "first alert" traffic. >> we're starting out on the vine street expressway. we have cameras around 24th

street. you can see once in a while a car moves through the area. eastbound, westbound, access to the schuylkill and 95 as well. speaking of those, to the vine to center city, 14 minutes there. only 13 minutes center city over the schuylkill, no problems on the blue route. i'll be back in ten minutes with more updates. boos for cruz, volumed by the delegates chanting we want trump. after the texas senator did not endorse donald trump. the former presidential candidate did congratulate donald trump and he stopped short of endorsing him. that's when the boos began. yet, the rejection that played out in prime time reopened party

wounds. and it infuriated his supporters inside the arena just before vice presidential nominee mike pence made his acceptance speech. cruz received boos from the crowd as he urged them to vote their conscience in november. >> please don't stay home in november. stand and speak, vote your conscience, volt for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the constitution. >> cruz placed second behind trump in the overall delegate count. nbc10's lauren casper was there. >> what did you think about the speech? >> that was an embarrassing

debacle. i'm right now disappointed redefining sore winning. >> now trump hadn't honored the agreement to back the original nominee and he added no big deal. the trump transition team called cruz's speech awful, selfish and cute. >> with the qualifications, i don't understand how someone can be such a person of integrity and that cute speech he gave. >> christie added that cruz showed everybody why he has earned the reputation he has on capitol hill. well, hillary clinton tweeted a short video of cruz after his speech tweeting out what he said about trump, pathological liar, out of a psychology textbook.

mishap after one of trump's speeches. we'll have all of that coming up. live from cleveland, tracy davidson, "nbc10 news." new this morning, patients and workers who were forced to evacuate from girard medical center in philadelphia overnight are now back in the building. the fire began in the basement, we're told, and officials say they don't believe it spread beyond there. there's no word yet on what caused the fire. >> it's 4:06 now. new this morning, a west philadelphia neighborhood fight ends in gunfire. police say a man was shot and a bullet crashed through a window of a people. nbc10's matt delucia is live outside of detectives this morning where police are investigating the scene. >> reporter: police are looking for the shooter at this hour. at sometime, police tells that you a woman poured hot grease on

another person at 45th and market, philadelphia police investigating this police tell us the fight was between two women, then a man came in the house and pointed a gun in the face of one of the woman. pulled the trigger and the gun jammed. so he ran out in the yard, gets the gun working again and fired a bullet and it hit a 21-year-old man in the back. he is in the hospital in critical condition. >> people need to have more dialogue and more understanding to resolve the situation. >> reporter: police say the situation could have been worse considering there were several children including infants inside the house at that time. for now i'm live at southwest detectives, i'm matt delucia, "nbc10 news." this morning, police are looking for a gunman who shot a 16-year-old in north

philadelphia. investigators say the teen was shot twice during a robbery. the victims were visiting relatives when someone shot and robbed him at cecil b. moore avenue. police are looking for the shooter who gunned down a 15-year-old. that boy was shot grissom street in franked ford. witnesses described what they heard. >> and some screaming. a gun, a gunshot. everybody ducked, when we heard it, we ran. >> i ran in the house. >> the victim is in critical condition following surgery for a stomach wound. police questioned a woman in that case. and they're looking for a shooter and another man who was seen with him. temple university world of trustees will meet today to fire

temple president neal seebalt. we're told that students alumni and people who live in north philadelphia and who oppose construction of a new stadium that theabow supports will be at the meeting. nine minutes after 4:00, temperatures are cooling down. 72 degrees right now in philadelphia. like the last few days we'll see lots of sunshine. by 10:00, in the low 80s. warmer today than noon time, upper 80s to low 90s this afternoon. not quite as hot in the suburbs, 60s to start with, 79 degrees to start with. lehigh valley, you'll see bright shine, skies are clear. and temperatures cooling down.

in fact, we're running cooler than yesterday. we could see temperatures in the 50s. bright sunshine and a little bit of a breeze out of the west-southwest, that's going to help to push the temperatures up to 89 degrees at 2:00, and feel it again at 4:00. for the jersey shore a little bit of southerly wind still a warm afternoon. 84 degrees. while interior new jersey warms into the low 80s and 90s. delaware, not a repeat of the storms from yesterday. you'll see that southwesterly wind this afternoon and that will start to bring in the humidity and we'll see it increase. along with the heat that will also be up. you notice the seven-day forecast and a big heatup. i've got a look at that and the ten-day outlook. it's 4:10 right now, we're

going to check in to see what's going on on the roads, "first alert" traffic reporter jessica boyington is standing by with a look at the boulevard. anything there? >> well, katy, we're watching the boulevard now. no problems or delays. still a little early for that at least for backups. route 1 at fox street, all directions move along just fine. northbound and southbound and then bala cynwyd will continue with utility work. and montgomery avenue until about 5:00 until we see cleanup there. route 202 looks okay. no problems or delays here. you can see a little bit of a delay with construction in the way. 17 minutes, adding just over five minutes to your commute. northbound to route 30 to the schuylkill expressway. still almost up into the 40s, though. katy. well, got to have a wawa. how many times have you said that? millions of people get their
