i'm tracy davidson. >> i'm vai sikahema. we are broadcasting live from inside the wells fargo center. on the stage, hillary clinton will officially become the first woman ever nominated for president. we'll walk you through the first day highlights and let you know what to expect later on today at the dnc. first, let's get right to meteorologist bill henley with his look at the neighborhood forecast. it's a look at communities across pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. >> we have a wildly different forecast for you today. the storms have moved out, the temperatures cooled down. under clear skies now. 75 degrees in philadelphia. south jersey is at 72 and look at the 60s are back for the lehigh valley and the suburbs. it does feel better this morning, even at the shore the temperatures are cooling down after big storms rolled through overnight in ocean city and atlantic city, now in the lower 70s. we'll see plenty of sunshine, it will be a hot afternoon. but the humidity will be coming down. 95 in the city and somerton.

lansdale, 90s this afternoon and 93 for easton. plenty of sunshine at new jersey, at the shore, 89 degrees, wilmington warms to 94 degrees this afternoon. i'll go through the forecast hour by hour when i'm back in a few minutes. let's see how the traffic is looking this morning. jessica boyington has your first alert traffic. >> thanks, bill. we are watching an accident scene in collegeville this morning, east main street and east 4th avenue. watch out for that. checking in with the vine street expressway, we are open, this morning, of course, no construction, westbound and eastbound. we are not going to see this construction all week long because of the dnc being around. as you can see, actually if you look over in this direction, there is police activity. that's approaching 95. that's one of the police checkpoints for the five-ton vehicle restrictions. no problems or delays because of that. 95 and the schuylkill expressway have no problems into center city right now. 13 minutes at the most, southbound from woodhaven road to the vine street expressway. no problems on the blue route either, 15 minutes there from the schuylkill to 95. tracy? ç

within the same party, the clinton delegates and sanders delegates trying to make their voices heard over each other. bernie sanders supporters gave him a rousing welcome last night. the democratic runner-up urged them to put aside their disappointment and vote in the fall for hillary clinton over republican donald trump. >> if you don't believe that this election is important, if you think you can sit it out, take a moment to think about the supreme court justices that donald trump would nominate. hillary clinton will nominate justices to the supreme court who are prepared to overturn citizens united. hillary clinton will make an outstanding president and i am proud to stand with her tonight. thank you all very much! >> delegates -- sanders reminded

bias toward hillary clinton's campaign. that plus the resignation of the dnc's chairwoman wasn't enough to end the protests. >> we're all in this together. >> we're not going to harm anybody. we're just here to say something to everyone. >> police cited more than 50 people for disorderly conduct after demonstrators tried to climb barricades near the convention. protesters say they will be out in force again today. democrats are applauding first lady michelle obama for her speech at the dnc last night. >> her prime time address focused on supporting hillary clinton for president and what the election itself is all about. >> this november when we go to the polls, that is what we're deciding, not democrat or republican, not left or right, no, in this election and every election is about who will have theç power to shape our childr for the next four or eight years of their lives.

>> mrs. obama's speech moved some delegates to tears. and just moments after his wife walked off the stage, president obama sent out a tweet which read, incredible speech by an incredible woman. couldn't be more proud and our country has been blessed to have her as first lady of the united states. i love you, michelle. >> today former president bill clinton will speak at the convention. >> a philadelphia woman who's made a career of fighting for churn's rights will also take the stage. nbc 10's matt delucia is live on independence mall with a preview. matt? >> vai and tracy, we are expecting to hear from a couple of people from our our area later on this evening. as we mentioned at the top of the hour, the theme of the convention last night was united together. tonight it is a lifetime of fighting for children and families. the dnc says this night will be about showing how hillary clinton has spent her career working to make a difference for children and families. some of the speakers later on will be mothers of men killed by police officers as you recall,

the fraternal order of police has taken issue with that. there is some controversy with the list of speakers as we enter day two. as mentioned, there are a couple local people speaking at the convention. i spoke with one of them. she works at the juvenile law center here in center city. she told me she got the call a couple weeks ago and asked her really to speak at the wells fargo center center for the convention. she said that she was taken back, she's thrilled to do it, especially to talk about important issues related to churn. she works with children every day. so i spoke with her. we're going to hear a little bit about what she has to say as a preview coming up before her speech tonight. live at independence mall, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. nbc 10 has extensive coverage all week long. our broadcasts continue all morning, afternoon anticipate evening. we'll bring you a nightly one-hour special at 7:00. be sure you have the free nbc 10

app for instant updates and behind the scenes footage of the democratic national convention. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> storms have moved out and we will see sunshine today and another day back in the 90s. but even though the temperatures are going up, the wind has shifted. that's going to deliver drier air for us. 86 degrees, the humidity falls at 10:00. that's up just over 10 degrees compared to where we are right now. it's into the 90s this afternoon.suburbs, plenty of sunshine, 76 degrees at 8:00. by upper -- by noontime, upper 80s. then it's into the low 90s for sunshine later this afternoon and the lehigh valley, you'll see sunshine there, too. 66 degrees now, into the upper 80s by lunch time, look at those winds coming out of the northwest this afternoon. 90, 91 degrees. that's this afternoon. the humidity will be dropping. not as hot nor as humid as it was yesterday. new jersey, plenty of sunshine, skies are clear now. 73 degrees to start with.

we'll warm through the 70s past the 80s and into the 90s this afternoon. and at the shore, the storms have completely cleared the shore. you'll see lots of sunshine and a good warmup, too. 78 degrees. this is a land breeze. it will even get warm at the shore, upper 80s. that's at 2:00 this afternoon. winds will be shifting some later this afternoon. still a great day at the shore and delaware, 73 now, 85 degrees later this morning. and then it's into the 90s this afternoon, but you, too, will feel that northwesterly wind. drier air is on the way. eventually we'll get cooler weather, too. we have the ten-day outlook when i come back. jessica boyington hasç your fit alert traffic. >> that's right, bill. we are starting off on 295 over in west deptford around route 130. you can see no big problems in either direction right now. all lanes moving north or southbound, if you're heading southbound towards the delaware memorial bridge, you'll have no problems doing so right now.

the political world's attention right here in philadelphia. >> that doesn't mean the republican presidential nominee isn't trying to do the same. donald trump was in winston-salem. he took the stage with mike pence. trump promised voters that the gop ticket would bring jobs back to north carolina. he also said there's a double standard when it comes to the resignation of debbie wasserman schultz. >> if happened to them what happened to us, which is disastrous, right? she said it. we'd have headlines all over the world, republicans disaster, it's a disaster. it's the worst thing we've ever seen in the history of convention. >> also on the dnc e-mail scandal, the head of wikileaks says there's no proof behind the clinton campaign's accusation that the russians hacked the party's competer messages.

>> of course, this is a diversion that's being pushed by the hillary campaign. the real story is what the e-mails contain. >> on friday, wikileaks released thousands of dnc e-mailsç with some appearing to show the party trying to undermine sanders. several cyber security experts told nbc news that the e-mails were hacked by russian intelligence. and now to breaking news, nbc 10's katy zachry is following that and other stories we're following for you today. katy? >> that's right, tracy and vai. the daughter of a philadelphia police officer is the victim of a carjacking this morning. right now, officers are still looking for the two teenage suspects who rode up to her on bicycles armed with guns. police spotted the stolen vehicle and began to chase after it. the car hit eight parked cars along springfield avenue in west philadelphia. the two teenagers got out and ran away.

police say they found two guns in the car. the carjacking victim was not hurt. the search, though, continues for the two carjackers, one of them may have head injuries from the crash. this morning, the floodwaters are gone but there's still a lot of cleanup to be done. the rain came down fast and furiously all over our region. that led to flash flooding. drivers quickly became frustrated when they found their way home blocked or slow, they couldn't even get home in somications. a septa bus and car were under water in bensalem, bucks county. everyone did get out safely. trees also came down. a neighbor in philadelphia's overbrook section heard one fall. >> i heard some crinkling out here, really loud, then i heard a boom, next thing i know the tree was in the street. >> on martin luther king drive, ponding slowed down drivers going through fairmont park and

along the schuylkill expressway. your eyes are not deceiving you. that's a hail storm in july. viewers capture hail coming down fast, setting off car alarms in montgomery county. bill henley, more heat is on tap for today but what about more storms? >> storms are out of the picture, no. we see the moisture, though, coming back at us as a bit of fog in some of the areas this morning. this is easton. you can see light fog there. the temperatures have cooled into the 70s for south jersey, philadelphia and delaware but even cooler in the suburbs, in the lehigh valley and this is where we're seeing the fog as a result with those cooler temperatures. leesport is 69, white hall 66. into the 90s this afternoon and that will do away with any fog but at this hour with cooling temperatures and lots of moisture left over from yesterday's storms, the fog is down to half a mile visibility in hazleton. light fog in reading this morning.

the rest of the area is fog-free. we will see a quick warmup today, into the 90s. philadelphia, 77 degrees at 7:00. sunshine and 88 degrees at 11:00 and 93 degrees at 3:00 this afternoon. the suburbs, 85 degrees by lunch time and 90 degrees later today. and the lehigh valley, look at the sunshine, bright sunshine, middle 80s at 11:00. 90s, low 90s this afternoon. but the humidity will also be lower during the day today. drier air is coming in on winds out of the northwest that will be bringing in that drier air and you'll feel it even more so this evening. upper 80s at 11:00 for delaware, 92 degrees this afternoon for new jersey and the shore. you'll see 70s warm into the 80s and both areas will top out in the low 90s this afternoon. just a little bit warmer in interior new jersey. 89 degrees at 3:00, at the jersey shore, likely topping out at 90 degrees this afternoon. futurecast, hour by hour shows

we're in the clear for today. 5:30 this evening, no repeat of thout storms. but there are chances over the next few days of more storms. today and tomorrow, we will be dry, 93 degrees, the high temperature, those high temperatures will be coming down into thursday. 94 degrees and then a chance of some showers and thunderstorms for friday and saturday. high temperatures in the upper 80s for both days. come next week, sunday, and monday, into the 80s, just a little bit warmer tuesday afternoon and by wednesday and thursday, we're back into the 90s. good morning, everyone, first alert traffic reporter jessica boyington here. i'm watching 95. these are our cameras around broad street where we still have those off ramps, the on and off ramps closed from 95 north and southbound to broad street because of the dnc this week here in philadelphia. so not causing any huge problems or delays, of course, but it will be here in an active scene for the next several days.

watching collegeville for an accident scene on east main street and east 4th avenue and the boulevard still with traffic lights that are out and malfunctioning. watch for police activity there in the area, route 1, right around masher street. watching the pa turnpike as well. drive times doing okay so far. westbound and eastbound still in the green, 21 minutes from valley forge to route 80. you can add your in ut to plans to save the city. a public forum is happening at 6:00 at city hall today to talk about the financial rescue plan. the city is more than half a billion dollars in debt. governor chris christie signed two measures into law in may, giving ac time to develop a five-year plan to balance the budget. if the state does not like the plan, it can take over. >> katy, thank you. everyone is talking about first lady michelle obama's speech and bernie sanders late night address. >> philadelphia got time in the
