legalized marijuana crew took over. everywhere you look, there are different organizations here, with different agendas. you know, some of them are more serious than others. we've got a guy here who's pushing for people to like hockey more. but a lot of them are serious topics. as soon as one group leaves, another group comes in. but in terms of the relationship to hillary clinton, a lot of people here are saying no matter what bernie sanders tells them to do, they're not going to vote for hillary clinton. >> a hillary clinton presidency! >> reporter: bernie sanders wants his supporters to vote for clinton, many of the supporters here today say no way. in fact, some say they will go out of their way to make her lose in november. >> we're absolutely coming after her. we consider hillary clinton more dangerous. >> if you think this campaign was about electing one man, you haven't been paying attention. bernie sanders is an idea. >> reporter: hundreds of sanders
4:02 pm
supporters say sanders sparked what they call a revolution. while they'd like him to keep fighting, they'll go on without him. they don't need celebrities like sarah silverman to tell them what to think. >> to the bernie or bust people, you're being ridiculous. >> reporter: these people also say the dnc e-mail scandal and clinton's pick of a centrist running mate will come back to bite her. they're okay with that, even if democrats lose the white house. >> people die for us to have the right to vote. we will vote in mass numbers. we'll do everything to get our mothers and grandmothers to vote the way we vote. we'll look at all options. the democrats is just not one of the options. >> reporter: we come back live. everywhere you look, everywhere you turn, a different chant. as all this is going on, the coalition for real justice, they left broad and diamond at temple university. they're walking down broad street. we keep looking over here to see

4:05 pm
but we do have thin clouds around. overall, we're on the dry side. easton 88 degrees. by 9:00 tonight, around 80. by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, a little on the nicer side. a little more comfortable, 67 degrees. humidity not that outrageous. as we go into tomorrow, we'll be seeing maybe a little bit less humidity. but take a look at these temperatures. we're still going to be in a heat wave. we're still expecting the 90s in the forecast. we've been in a heat wave since last friday. we'll take a closer look at your forecast coming up. really taxing the a/c here in the wells fargo center. once delegates seal clinton's nomination tonight, the campaign's focus will focus on advocacy for children, and september 11th recovery efforts. tuesday's team is dubbed fight of her life. they will focus on clinton's achievements. today we heard from two of them. live from the floor of the

4:07 pm
start shortly. and each state will get a chance to put in their votes. over there, that is where new jersey and delaware delegates are sitting. so you can see this when you watch that roll call later, now you know where it is all happening, where our local delegates are sitting. and they get a chance to have their voices heard for the big roll call that we're waiting for. jim? >> lauren mayk on the convention floor. gabby giffords spoke at a rally in philadelphia aimed at stopping gun violence. giffords was shot while greeting her constituents, you recall, this was back in arizona in 2011. today she said it is time for both parties to be responsible about gun control, and work together on the problem. giffords' address is at the convention tomorrow night. >> stopping gun violence takes courage. the courage to do what's right. the courage of new ideas. >> giffords and her husband,

>> reporter: former bernie supporter erica felt inspired by the unity of women today. she's decidedly team hillary. >> if bernie is with hillary, i'm with hillary, too. >> reporter: now, in new jersey, delegate for hillary that i spoke to for a minute on the sidewalk about an hour ago broke down in tears. i happened to ask her if she was okay. she said the tears were happy. she considers the glass ceiling that is right now being shattered by women, and also by the lgbt community a surreal moment in history that she says she will forever embrace. live in center city outside the convention center, i'm cydney long. jim, back to you. >> as lester holt is here with me, thank you for being with me. >> of course. >> day two, big night for hillary clinton, of course. but how this is all going to play out has been up for discussion most of the day. >> her husband, bill clinton, of course, is going to speak. what they're hoping to do today is really to define hillary
4:11 pm
clinton. and you say, why would you define someone who is so well-known. they feel she's well-known, but at the same time not really well-known. the republicans had a field day last week defining her how they wished. this is the time they will really try to set the table. this is who she is. this is her values. it's a really important speech for her husband as well to see if he still has the magic, if he's still in fact her not so secret weapon. >> it comes at a time president obama is enjoying huge popularity. >> you know, he was always considered -- if you remember, there was a big anticipation when he would be rolled out on the campaign and then he came out and of course, he had the meeting with -- on the tarmac with loretta lynch that caused blowback. and even four years ago, eight years ago, there was moments where he was kind of out of step with the campaign. so it's -- i think a lot of anticipation for what he's going to say tonight. >> and what are sanders supporters are going to do on
4:12 pm
the floor. >> they made some noise here again today. the fact of the matter is, it may be a little outsized in terms of what the real effect of sanders supporters is. it is a vocal my north. but they're making their presence known here. >> chuck todd was telling me earlier, bill clinton's got a lot on his plate. he's probably nervous about this speech, speaking about his wife as a nom hee and he's the former president. >> contrast this to melania trump, you're right, he was a president. i don't know how it would feel to come out and make the case, a political case for your wife. it's a lot of pressure. >> oh, no, i would be fine doing it. whatever she told me to say. >> you've been married so long. >> that's right. thank you, lester.
