pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. good morning, bill. >> good morning, pamela. we're starting off pretty quiet this morning. here's a live view of philadelphia from the adventure aquarium, looking across the delaware. 77 degrees right now in philadelphia. delaware is 77 and coming down the temperatures will be dropping a little bit more but as they come down, we're seeing some areas of fog form. as far as showers and thunderstorms, pretty quiet right now. isolated showers moving north of atlantic city, heading towards the shore. the fog will be disappearing as the temperatures climb. we'll see 80s this afternoon, clouds, sunshine, 80s for philadelphia, the suburbs and the lehigh valley with a chance of late-day showers and thunderstorms. that threat for new jersey, the shore and delaware as well. i'll walk you through it hour by hour with the futurecast when i'm back in just a few minutes. let's see what monday is looking like on the roads this morning. jessica boyington has your first alert traffic. >> thanks, bill. we're starting off on the vine street expressway this morning. these are our cameras around 24th street.

no big problems or delays in either direction. we're not dealing with the ongoing construction where we close it westbound from broad street to the schuylkill expressway. and eastbound. so you can see traffic moving along nicely all directions there on the vine. no problems through center city and into center city as well. 95 southbound from woodhaven road to the vine street expressway, 14-minute trip, 13 minutes right now on the schuylkill eastbound from the blue route to the vine and no problems on the blue route. new this morning, police in montgomery county are investigating a double shooting. >> gunfire was reported at an apartment complex in ambler. police were called to the forest garden apartments along forest avenue just before midnight. nbc 10's matt delucia is live there this morning. matt, what have police told you so far about what happened? >> police say they'll be giving us more information a little bit later on. what we can tell you that we know at this point, two people have been shot. let me step out of the way here. crime scene investigators have been here, since just before

midnight when this happened. we're on the 1 o block of forest avenue. investigators have set up the crime scene and lights arrange the outside of this building. take a look at some video from earlier. a lot of activity inside this apartment building. the two people were shot as i said just before midnight. one of the neighbors who lives across the way tells us she heard about five gunshots in all. no word yet on the condition of the victims, what the motive was for the shooting or if the shooter is still on the run at this hour. very few details at this point, although witnesses say they did not see anybody taken out, any victims taken out of this building overnight. but agains with we take another live look, police have been investigating, investigating throughout the night. i'll be back at 4:30 and we'll hear from the neighbor who heard the gunshots just a few hours ago. live in ambler, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. two former temple university

police officers are under arrest. aaron right and marquise robinson face aggravated assault charges. robinson was fired saturday after charges were filed. in gloucester county, investigators will be looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed a lumberyard. hundreds of firefighters battled the flames in franklin township business. the calucci lumberyard in gloucester county is now a total loss. fire crews brought in tanker trucks. some of the watt her to come from a nearby lake. about 200 firefighters met even more challenges dousing the flames. >> firefighters are hampered by the hot weather, low water pressure and variable winds that was blowing around pretty good. >> i already did my crying in the car. we have to say, hey, it happened. >> three firefighters were

treated for heat-related illnesses. it's not known if the family will rebuild their business. in trenton today, new jersey lawmakers will announce their support for extending jobless benefits to striking casino workers. it's been exactly one month since union employees at the trump taj mahal in atlantic city hit the picket line. state senate and assembly leaders say they'll back a bill that gives unemployment benefits to striking workers 30 days after a walkout. the casino's bankruptcy cut those benefits. now to the latest in the ongoing septa slowdown. today a new policy could affect your septa commute if you rely on the regional rails in center city. riders will have to buy tickets before boarding at any stations in philadelphia between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. tonight. septa said it made the move because of scheduling issues following the loss of more than 100 structurally deficient rail cars. also today, the naval hospital parking lot on broad

street in south philadelphia will re-open for septa customers. it's been closed for more than a week because of activities surrounding the democratic national convention at the wells fargo center in south philadelphia. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> 4:06. we are watching the skies this morning. a few scattered showers at the shore. that's a live view of cape may. a bit of fog in some of the suburbs. you can see it in the lehigh valley, too. visibility has dropped, a little bit in trenton. not really all that much. more fog in atlantic city where the visibility is two miles this morning. the fog will be disappearing. the threat of the more storms with heavy downpours will be with us. a first alert for the suburbs, the lehigh valley and the poconos through this evening. the threat of more flooding and heavy rainfall coming as a result. we will see that possibility of flooding. quiet right now, other than a few isolated showers, they are ott the shore this morning, just north of atlantic city and

inland in southern burlington county heading off to the northeast. most of the day will be dry. actually get sunshine, too. that will allow the temperatures to climb into the 80s this afternoon. a steamy day ahead. winds right now out of the northeast at 8 miles an hour. we could see stronger gusts with thunderstorms this afternoon. seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen shows that we are not going to see the 90s for the week but we will get more wet weather. i'll have details on that when i come back in just a few minutes. thanks so much, now that we know how the weather will be looking today, a look at the roads this morning. >> jessica boyington is standing by with a check of new jersey roads. >> we're watching 295 right now. these are our cameras in west deptford township in new jersey, route 130 is the area of the camera as well. not a lot of cars on the roads. everybody is moving along smoothly, north, southbound. if you're heading to the delaware area southbound from the 42 freeway up to the

delaware memorial bridge, that's a ç22-minute drive time. speeds into the mid-60s. no restrictions there. watch for construction over in bridgeport. route 130, the similar area between route 322 and route 44, that is supposed to be in place until a week from now. northbound from route 30 to the schuylkill expressway, dealing with some construction. that's about a ten-minute addition to your trip. which i don't think it will be right now because there's not a lot of cars on the roads. move slowly through the area. average speeds, that's what's causing that, into the 30s -- the high 20s at least. 12 minutes headed southbound from the schuylkill to route 30. more updates on your morning drive when i come back. pamela? time now 4:08 on your monday morning. happening today, donald trump heads to a harrisburg area high school to address supporters and stump for votes. >> he will bring controversy with him. next, hear is weighing in on remarks that trump made about

controversy surrounding donald trump. in a written statement, ryan praised the sacrifice of it the family of an american muslim soldier killed in iraq. yesterday trump defended himself against the criticism he got at the dnc from the parents of fallen army captain humayum khan. his father said he wouldn't even allowed to be an american if trump was president. >> i think i made a lot of sacrifices. i work very, very hard. i've created thousands and thousands of jobs. >> democratic nominee hillary clinton campaigning in ohio with running mate tim kaine called the response the same old trump. but she acknowledged she has her own problems like winning the trust of voters. >> i know we've got problems and

well, nearly washed away. >> that's what happened to an historic town near baltimore when torrential rains triggered deadly flash floods. take a look at this individual dwro from -- video from maryland saturday night. the flooding killed two people, destroyed dozens of vehicles and left main street in ruins. county officials compared the town to a war zone. >> cars wrefr. sidewalks missing. roads partially gone. yew till polls down. cars on top of cars within buildings, the bottom floor completely gone, foundations completely gone. i don't think we can compare this to anything we've seen before. >> county officials declared a state of emergency. they said they got a month's worth of rain in just two hours. yesterday, members of the pennsylvania indent team headed

to ellicott city. members are expected to be there for the next week. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> 4:15 and steamy outside. clouds over wilmington but otherwise dry. no sign of showers in the immediate area. for sea isle city and the coast, cape may, we'll see sunshine today with a chance of more showers and possibly some strong thunderstorms. 70s to start with and we'll be climbing into the 80s this afternoon. a steamy day ahead. ucon township. satellite and radar showing some activity headed toward the coast. ocean county and burlington county getting that heavier rainfall. that will move offshore. we'll likely see more showers and thunderstorms developing during the day. weartown be on the lookout. those showers are headed for

you. the first alert, the suburbs, the lehigh valley, and the poconos. 2 to 4 inches already on the ground. through this evening, there's a threat of thunderstorms, heavy rain an a flash flood threat for those areas. but other spots will see thunderstorms, too. the hour by hour forecast shows at 8:00 this morning, isolated showers are possible. no big storms at that hour. could see more activity at the shore in cape may county. as we go into the afternoon in central delaware getting scattered showers and then into the lehigh valley this evening, that's when we'll see heavier downpours. it won't be an all-day rainfall. just the possibility of more showers and thunderstorms. and temperatures won't get into the 90s, into the 80s for philadelphia, the suburbs and the lehigh valley. sunshine at times, just enough to warm the temperatures in new jersey, into the 80s. at the shore you'll see clouds and some breaks of sunshine with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. the heavier downpours most likely in the afternoon and wilmington. into the 80s with that same

threat of more showers. a look ahead with the ten-day on 10, coming up in the next half hour. >> bill, thank you. 4:15 on your monday morning. 74 degrees outside our studios in bala cynwyd. >> jessica boyington joining us, live with a look at the blue route. >> we do look great on the blue route right now. that's what we look like on most of the majors. maybe some construction spots. we're talking about the blue route right now around the germantown pike on ramp. no big problems or delays. you can see cars moving along nicely north or southbound. we also are going to check in with the pa turnpike morning. we're watch something construction there. if you're headed eastbound, the left lane is closed from downingtown to route 29. 23 minutes at the most westbound to route 1 and valley forge right now. route 38 around haddonfield road, not a lot of cars on the road. we just saw a car move through the area. roads look dry, too.
