charity event brings strippers to the links with taxpayers in new jersey footing the bill. nbc 10 news starts now. and we begin with the dangerous heat. we are in the midst of the fifth heat wave this summer. a live look at eighth and market streets in center city where it is still hot and steamy at this hour. good evening, everyone, i'm jim rosenfeld. it felt as hot as 120 degrees in parts of our area today and could feel hotter tomorrow. let's go straight to sheena parveen who has a look at our first alert neighborhood forecast. tell us how hot it is right now. >> you won't believe how hot it feels right now. in dover it feels close to 100 degrees right now. and being midnight, it is very warm and humid. feels like 97 in philadelphia. it's all because of that humidity making things very

uncomfortable. if you look at sunday, the bottom of the screen, we have days outlined in red. they're going to run through the weeke weekend. take a look at the 90s. officially put us in heat wave number five. we'll be feeling over 100 degrees with actual temperatures in the 90s. and first alert heat for jersey and delaware. we'll talk about this and more about what you can expect coming up. good evening. i'm jacquelyn london coming to you live from rio de janeiro. they have been the dominating due we for team usa. and today, michael phelps and katie ledecky were back in the pool going for gold. michael phelps was up first, his vapts, the 100-meter butterfly. it was not meant to be though, phelps rallies from sixth overall to finish in a three-way tie for silver. he has a final shot at gold

tomorrow. from disappointment to pure domination. katie ledecky shattered her own world record in the 800-meter freestyle. she powered away from the field and grabbed her fourth gold medal of the game. english gardner easily advanced in the 100-meter dash. this is gardner's first olympics. she is a former track club runner. american goalkeeper hope solo is not handling her team's stunning loss very well. she called the swedes a bunch of cowards. she was apparently angered by their defensive style. they beat the usa in a penalty kick shootout. this is the earliest the u.s. as been eliminated from the olympics since women's soccer became a sport in 1996. meet the local woman who crossed paths with michael phelps when he was just 8 years

old and how she played an integral role in his success. all that and more in a moment. but first back to you in the studios. >> we will see you soon. prayers in german town tonight. dozens gathered at the spot where 6 year old mahauj brown was shot. this is the second time in a matter of days a 6-year-old has become the victim of philadelphia's gun violence. two two nights ago another child was shot in a park. >> reporter: mahaj brown's family is traumatized after the 6-year-old was shot ten times after getting in the car with his godfather. >> you can't walk around shooting people, innocent people. numerous people have got shot around here that has nothing to do would this. >> reporter: homes near the 500

block of east ashley street are riddled with bullets. as many as 40 shots were shot with three weapons. one was an ak-47. mahaj and his godfather were not believed to be the intended target. ed. >> reporter: the pastor urged people to take a stand. it's the second time this week that a 6-year-old was shot in philadelphia. in both cases, no one is coming forward with information. police are offering a reward, up to $10,000 in each case, hoping to change that. >> this little boy is only 6 years old. and he's fighting with everything he has in his soul to stay alive. as you can see behind me, now there's an increased police presence. this community says they're gripped by fear.

nbc 10 news. we have just learned in the last hour, one man was shot and killed just blocks from that scene, while in frankfurt, two men were shot in a basketball court. one of the men died at the hospital. the victim there one of four people killed friday alone in the city. the jury's expected to get the case against pennsylvania attorney general kathleen cain on monday. she did not testify in her own defense. she told the judge she didn't think prosecutors met their burden of proof. she's accused of leaking information to the media from the grand jury and then lying about it. to decision 2016 and the push for pennsylvania. donald trump says there's only one way hillary clinton can win in the keystone state. >> the only way we can lose, in my opinion, i really mean this, pennsylvania, is cheating goes

on. >> trump was speaking to supporters there in altoona. he plans to watch parts of pennsylvania closely on election day wanting to make sure clinton supporters don't vote more than once. meanwhile, she'll be in scranton, joined by vice president joe biden. she released her 2015 tax returns. the clintons made $10.5 million and paid 34.2% in taxes. now to a dirty game of golf. a strip event at a public golf course, in plain sight. undercover cameras from our sister station, wnbc were in and around the course recording it all. sarah wallace has the story. >> reporter: it was quite a full dance performance, definitely not behind the closed doors of a strip club. this one was way out in the open on one of the greens in the

public golf course in wayne on a recent weekday. the action in full swing by noontime. the event sponsored by the sun rise gentlemen's club of patterson advertised a day of golf and girls for $195. uniformed officers were offered a discount. this is the same club that last year was busted on suspicions of prostitution. >> i want to welcome everybody here. >> reporter: the organizer collected money up front in the clubhouse, stressing, it was a charity golf outing. >> money that we collect from you goes to some specific organizations. >> reporter: among the group, i-team producers with undercover cameras. they captured it all as the drink flowed and the golf course games went from a g rating right down the alphabet. there were plenty of lap dances. hand groping and golf ball high jinks. just so we're clear, anybody who

came by could have seen what was happening. my photographer and i were parked along the edge of this very busy road. and we had a direct line of sight to that particular green, which is just a few dozen yards away. that same green where the sun rise trippers spent several minutes maneuvering the flagpoles for the golfers in her group. check out the faces of neighbors. this is a family neighborhood. >> it is a family neighborhood and a public golf course for families to play. this is pretty drastic. >> reporter: they had no idea what was going on practically in their own back yard. >> unbelievable. >> reporter: is this an appropriate use of the golf course? >> absolutely not. i've lived here 57 years. i've never seen anything like that. i don't even want to see city more. >> that's actually really shocking. people are going by, families are going by.

that's on public property. >> reporter: but some golfers on the course a few days later were more blase. >> if they were really going oot it, completely naked, that's over the top. they do that in new orleans. >> i think we should worry a lot more than a girl in a bikini on a golf course. >> reporter: when i visited the strip club, i was told there is no owner and shown the door. we had better luck with the county administrator who asked to see our video and of spoke to us afterwards. how can this thing happen? >> it's easy for it to happen. obviously they came. they requested a tournament. it's not so much the business but what they did on the course that is the problem. we're going to rook at the polo policies and procedures in place. my understanding is it's not the first time it took place, but i can say it will be the last time. >> reporter: news 4 new york.

♪ we're back here live in rio, and for michael phelps, the journey to become being the greatest swimmer of all time started in baltimore, and right by his side, a local woman who says she knew that 8-year-old was special. nbc 10's drew smith has her story. >> reporter: this clinic in dover is set up to treat sport and spinal injuries. but one look at any of the walls, and you'll also get a history lesson in olympic swimming. >> there's a picture of michael when he was young, with me on deck. >> reporter: julia is an accomplished swimmer from baltimore. this photo shows her coaching a very young michael phelps. >> he was certainly becoming something you know above and beyond special in the water. he had a vision that was just unique. >> reporter: gorman became a physical therapist and moved to

delaware. but she sees phelps again in a more recent photo in this year's olympic trial. she also worked with katie ledecky at the trials who is proving her dominance in rio. >> katie ledecky is a one in a million person all around. >> reporter: all of these mark special moments from the past. but for how these athletes are performing now is amazing. >> it's like art. you see the skill and everything. it's just beautiful to watch. >> reporter: nbc 10 news. and you know gorman will be watching phelps tomorrow. he has the final shot at gold in the 4 by 100-relay. if you want more olympics, who doptd, we ha doesn't? we have the link. we are profiling local

athletesathletes you will want to watch in week two. for now, let's send it back to the studios. >> it's infectious. here at home too. folks enjoying the night out with their pups at an olympic inspired yappy hour. the horticultural society put this pop-up garden together. and they offered medals and a cool drink of water which they need in this weather. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> the heat is on for the weekend. pennsylvania, philadelphia suburbs, pennsylvania suburbs, i should say, philadelphia, new jersey and delaware, the first alert's going to go all the way through the end of your weekend. through your sunday, temperatures will be in the 90s, a lot of humidity. it will feel from 100 to 110 degrees.

and even in parts of delaware today we saw parts of 120. avoid several hours outside in the middle of the day. stay hydrated. if you have to be outside, stay cool and try to find some shade. we're going to look at saturday afternoon, and look at how hot it's going to feel, right around 110 to 115 for parts of the area. we could see a little rain relief, but not for everyone. it would mainly be in the lehigh valley and the pennsylvania suburbs. then sunday, feeling around 105 to possibly 110 degrees. it is going to be a hot weekend. most of the area will stay dry this weekend. a little rain relief north and west. here's future weather. as we go through the day saturday, we will stay fairly dry. as we go into the afternoon, 2:00 p.m., a few pop-up showers. could be similar to today, with most of those storms staying north and west of philadelphia.

here at the shore or at the beaches in delaware, you'll be nice and dry. then we go into sunday afternoon. still a small chance for scattered thunderstorms. we'll keep our eye on that for you. your overall weekend forecast, hot and behi hot and humid. chance of a thunderstorm, pennsylvania suburbs, mid-90s, lehigh valley as well. along the shore will be close to 90. delaware will be in the mid to upper 90s, too, and very humid. your shore forecast, heading to brigantine, 89 degrees. wildwood, 89 saturday. 92 possibly on sunday. and for cape may, it's going to be a hot one, a chance we could be in the 90s. some of our computer models are suggesting that. but heat and humidity is going to be the story. and then we go into next week,

big show of support for police officer christopher dorman. he was shot seven times during a drug investigation back in june. the 25-year-old officer joined the force part time last summer. says he was happy with the turnout at this fundraiser. >> it's awesome. a great show of support. >> and john clark, dorman says
