station in pittsburgh with the recap. nbc 10 news starts now. good evening. i'm jacquelyn london live from rio de janeiro. the olympic games here are being overshadowed. ryan lochte and three other swimmers were not robbed at gun point as they say. the swimmers damaged this gas station bathroom. surveillance video shows the men trying to leave the gas station, and that's when police say an armed security guard pulled a gun on the athletes. they eventually paid for the damage and left before police arrived. one night after being pulled off their plane home, gunnar bentz was allowed to go home. jimmy feigen remains in brazil

defamation. the report claims she misused nearly $400,000 in proceeds from the philadelphia marathon while working as a top aide for mayor nutter. both deny the accusations. a philadelphia man is accused of holding women as slaves inside his home and forcing them to work as prostitutes. investigators say he recruited prostitut prostitutes. andrea klein thomas takes us inside this human trafficking case. >> reporter: authorities busted in to arrest 44-year-old bruce steel. did you see women going in and out of house? >> just once or twice. they weren't wearing anything specifically. they were just women in general and i never really paid attention. >> reporter: according to court documents, for years, "cash"

would recruit women and force them into prostitution. they would be closely monitored by surveillance and a door lock. >> that that's going on next door, and it took that long to catch the guy. >> reporter: the women would have sex with strangers at various montgomery county hotels in exchange for drugs. and if they didn't make enough money, steel would beat them up. or not give them drugs, causing serious withdrawals. >> physical, emotional and psychological abuse. >> reporter: she cannot speak specifically to what they're going through, but they've already helped 300 women who have been sexually, commercially exploited. >> we need safety planning, emotional and trauma counseling. >> reporter: at least seven victims have been identify and

detectives want others to come forward. case like this are more common than you may think, from the city to the suburbs, low and high-income neighborhoods. as for bruce steel, he's being held on $1 million bond. nbc 10 news. now to an update on a nbc 10 investigation into how philadelphia schools have been failing at fire drills. on thursday, the school reform commission approved new regulations on how philly schools document and conduct fire drills. it comes after it was exposed the district was not conducting all the required drills for at least three years. >> through your investigation individuals were not completing those drills, and so it was really important for us to look at that process. >> some of the changes include electronic reporting to the district office and hiring someone to ensure schools follow the new policies.

in decision 2016 tonight, donald trump made a major change in his campaign thursday night. he expressed regret for some of the words he's used during his controversial campaign for president. >> sometimes in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don't choose the right words, or you say the wrong thing. i have done that. and believe it or not, i regret it. >> trump made that declaration during a rally in charlotte. he didn't specify which remarks he regrets. the clinton campaign reacted to trump's regrets saying that apology tonight is simply a well-written phrase until he

1: 1:27 in the morning. ocean city should see it at about 1:30 in the morning. temperatures should be in the 70s. philadelphia, 79 degrees, atlantic city coming in at 80 degrees. if you look at the seven-day at the bottom of your screen, you'll notice a big relief next week. this weekend it's still going to be hot, but technically, the heat wave that we've had for so many days has finally come to an end. today we hit 88. so still heat in the forecast. just not that oppressive heat that we've been feeling for the past several days. this weekend, though, a chance of thunderstorms mostly later in the weekend and there's that relief coming next weekend. temperatures, i think you'll enjoy them and the humidity much lower. i'll show you that in just a minute. but right now here's future weather. mostly dry through the day.

four more people in our area are infected with the zika virus. the new cases are in montgomery

county. in each case, they were infected outside our area. there are 74 casing in pennsylvania. there's troubling new evidence that it may also affect adult brains. it is just in mice, so it is still early, but it suggests zika can damage adult brain cells critical to learning. but more studies are planned. the birds shut out the steelers. we'll show you how the defense stepped up in a big way, and hear from doug peetderson, next. i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message.

the steelers, 17-0. they shut them out. take a look at jim schwartz' defense. returns it 38 yards for the touchdown. then malcolm jenkins got a little help from leo tis mckelvin. and aaron grimes, look at this interception by him. that is a great interception. sam bradford and the offense, they had trouble moving the ball in the first couple drives, but they got going in the second quarter. he finished for 115 yards. birds win, 17-0, and they feel the offense is getting better each week. >> we really rebounded and put a nice drive together to score nearly three points right before the half. and yeah, i was pleased with how the offense was able to move the ball there in the second quarter. >> i think we were pretty vanilla tonight. i think they were pretty vanilla
