evening. count on nbc 10 for results. today pennsylvania supreme court hearing arguments in a case that could change how cool funding is divided. dozens of charter students, where the justices are meeting to will be to the case. six school districts, parents and community groups file add lawsuit claiming the department of education has mailed to give students the resources they need. charter school leaders say the lack of proper funding is hurting all of the schools. >> that inequality hurts our schools. we are struggling to hold on like many other school districts. it's their job to fund schools. it's their onbligation. we need the court to step in.

threatening. police rain vest gaiting the deadly shooting of a two-year-old boy there. the boy's father is being questioned. austin smith lived at home with his 26-year-old father and grandparents. police tell us the two-year-old was shot once in the chest yesterday morning around 11:00. he died at a hospital a short time after the shooting. the boy's father was the only other person until house with a toddler at the time of the shooting. >> whether it was self inflicted or not, that's the matter of the investigation. >> the boy's father was taken to be questioned. bubble wrap, that's what likely triggered a lockdown at valley forge military academy. they say an apartment across the street hearing what she thought were the sound of gunshots yesterday evening.

cease fire seems to be holding this morning. the goal is to revive peace talks and pave the way for humanitarian aid to be delivered. this is the second attempt in war-torn syria. school bus fire in college park, maryland. the driver being credited with staying calm while getting all 20 kids off of this bus safely. it burst into flames last night. it appears the fire started at the left rear wheel before spreading throughout the bus. the exact cause is still under investigation. neighbors say the lower marion school district, we were at the meelting last night where taxpayers voiced their concerns. a judge recently ruled in favor of taxpayers.

the judge ordered the school district to rework the spending plan. neighbors who learned that the district has built up a surplus over the years had a mixes response to the board's plan. take a listen. >> it's a disgrace. >> you lied to us for ten full years. shame on you. >> i believe the taxes will benefit not tonight students 2350ubut my future with educated leaders. >> they are appealing the lawsuit ruling. holding a special enrollment for displaced students from i.t.t. technical institute. the fast track runs today from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m.

another beautiful looking day out there. a few little high thin clouds. philadelphia 76 degrees right now. we are a little warmer than we were at this time yesterday. mid-70s across much of the rest of the area. not too many clouds. the sky is a little bit hazier. temperatures generally in the 70s. ? 78 in middletown. heading south it is 78 in georgetown and 80 in milton. some of the beaches, bethany, only 74. again, that wind coming in off of the ocean making sure the temperature doesn't go up much.

yesterday collulouds are near chicago. we are pretty comfortable this week except for one day, that is tomorrow. the temperature jumps up but then it just drops 15 degrees between wednesday and thursday. in wildwood it will drop 13 degrees. the end of the week quite comfortable or for some folks a little bit too cool. it has also been very dry. some folks do need some rain. the last measurable rain we have had was on the first day of the month. the next is not until sunday. those of you that need rain, you need it on sunday. now, here comes the futurecast. it is one of the computer models that we look at. the next half hour we'll look at another one.

there is a front coming down. it will lead to the cooler weather and very often you get hot weather ahead of the front. it gets more humid then you get some thunderstorms, the front comes through aened it gets cooler. there are those showers and thunderstorms. there it is but it all falls apart. wednesday we look the heating of the day and the atmosphere isn't moist enough to keep the moisture and showers in. as we go through the day tomorrow up to 90 degrees. we are going to be seeing the temperatures again creeping back

tomorrow. mike pence appeared on capitol hill to drum up support for trump. pence is try to go rally members to back trump and candidates in house and senate races to help keep a republican majority in the november elections. violence broke out at a donald trump rally in north carolina last night. while the g.o.p. nominee was speaking a fight erupted in the stands. security guards who are taking protesters out of the arena when a man confronted the group. you can see he grabbed a man around the neck. security let the man stay at the rally. trump seemed unaware of the incident. a police officer faces child porn charges. the 45-year-old charged with 25

late last week we were talking about temperatures near 90. nothing close to that now. it is 79 degrees. we have 79 in dover and 76 in philadelphia. remember how we added the humidity in and you get a feels like temperature? the feels like temperature is the same as the actual air temperature. in philadelphia 1 degree higher in dover and atlantic city. the humidity is still not a factor. the temperature going up through the 70s. we'll see if any place is 80 degrees yet. it's not really. it is 76 in phoenixville. you're getting closer to the 80 degree mark. sai 77 in new hope. no significant cloud cover around. we have to go back to the

lum lum bridgeton at 79. it is 77 in hopewell township. everybody will heat up at least just briefly as we go into the next 24 hours, going up to 93 tomorrow and then a big temperature drop as we go through the latter portion of the week. the dry weather that we have had this month of september, well, that is going to continue too. the only measurable rain we have had was on the 1st. the next is on the 18th, that is sunday. we showed you one computer model a little while ago showing whether showers were going to hold together as they came

through wednesday night. this is a different model. and you can see as we go into wednesday morning there is showers coming into pennsylvania. it's looking pretty impressive. there it goes. that's two out of two. these pretty much? . as the highing of the day days down. those showers dispate. this is tropical storm ian. it is way out to sea. it will stay way out to sea. it has a bigger threat to england than it does to this portion of the world. the next five days between the city and shore will be 93 degrees. it is 88 at the shore and then temperatures generally in the 70s. we are talking about generally dry weather for the rest of the
