"early today" starts right now. >> we begin with yet another school shooting, this time out of south carolina, where a 13-year-old boy opened fire with a handgun at an elementary school playground. describing the wounded, a teacher and two students hit by gun shots, one of them a 6-year-old boy in critical condition. it was towards the end of the school day when they learned of the active shooter at townville elementary. police say the gunman pulled into the school parking lot and immediately began firing shots. s.w.a.t. teams descended upon the scene as the school went on lock down. the entire incident was over in 15 minutes, thanks to a first

alert" neighborhood forecast a look at conditions where you live. bill? >> vai, it's steady rain in philadelphia international. you see the cameras shaking. that's the wind also present during the day today. steady showers in philadelphia and not alone. reaching into the suburbs into new jersey. in fact, a large area into moderate rainfall. new castle county, say level and cumberland. and camden county as well. within that area, we have seen a few lightning strikes, most the lightning with heavy rainfall overnight into southern delaware. and the rain is still coming down at a pretty good clip. more than 2 1/2 inches an hour in parts of this area. some heavy rainfall and there's already anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of rain on the ground there. flood warnings up for southern delaware. but the rest the area, no sign of flooding, but we do have a steady rainfall. it's not going to be an all-day
