4:16 pm
thing really could get kind of soggy. >> a lot of people hoping for some clear skies this weekend. we'll have to see. >> they are. now while the weather right now, although damp and rainy is about the best we have seen it in the last several hours, some events sadly have been cancelled, this is a big weekend for fall festivals, a holiday weekend for some and unfortunately mother nature is just not cooperating. shopping in this weather, it's not for everyone. >> the holiday is coming up, the jewish holiday, the harvest festival. >> but sometimes you just have to get out. >> i'm crossing my fingers because i have a canning business and i'm doing a festival this weekend. >> she's buying produce for the event that is rain or shine. >> 7:00 saturday morning, hopefully, by 8:30, you know, we'll be open for business. >> the owningers of marry me --

>> the rain came and kind of washed us out, and so they called the event. and we do not reschedule the lighting of the great pumpkin. >> but the farm market is open. owners here hope the fall feeling will get you in the mood, even if it is a little wet. and speaking of getting in the spirit of the season, today the scarecrow walk will hope at morris arboretum even if mother nature is fighting the effort. >> it's saturday and sunday, october 1 and october 2. it's 10:00 to 3:00, rain or shine. >> reporter: and they're going to have animals and all kinds of activities for the kids, even if it's in the rain, so bring your boots and your jackets because that is happening, we soon checking with events.
4:18 pm
and the october festival will be going on until tomorrow morning, although they can't set up until the rain does stop. it's not going to be a total washout, it's not nearly going to be as wet as it has been in the last couple of days, but it's not exactly a picture perfect weekend. we have got cloudy skies everywhere. we have some patches of mostly light rain or drizzle. the drizzle drops are so small for the radar to detect and the air that i'm most concerned got is moving to the northeast. that could potentially affect a part of the area by tomorrow morning. we certainly hope it doesn't hit kent and sussex county in delaware where we still have a flood warning going on until midnight. and why?
4:19 pm
because they have got pounded by rain, this is the radar estimates and of course it's a very colorful match. but those areas in yellow, that's over 10 inches of rain, we have had reports of over 14 inches of range in this area in eastern sussex county, close to 9 in seaford, 10 in millford, eight inches in dover. farther to the north, not as much, but five inches of rain is a lot. 3.4 in delaware county. and favorite to the north, allentown, about 1.8 inches, same story with parts of berks county and only a half-inch around trenton. we don't expect big amounts over the weekend, it's just a consistent cloudy skies that we have got, keeping the temperatures down, only 59 degrees in lehigh valley now.
4:20 pm
you can see the skyline a little bit, the clouds aren't as low as they were. the winds aren't as gusty as they were. gusting to 30 in atlantic city. so it's not like it's real improved, it's not as bad. how about that? here's the future cast showing some of those showers coming from the ocean and there's that cluster from virginia, just races through new jersey, in the morning, tomorrow and again more showers around, more sprinkles around, but not the heavy kind of rain that we have been seeing. so at least we have that improvement. so here's the weekend forecast. cloudy, drizzly through sunday, sunday still pretty cloudy, maybe some sunshine in delaware or the jersey shore, but also some showers possible. a little bit of sun will push temperatures into the 70s.
4:21 pm
now hurricane matthew, a major hurricane in the caribbean sea, and it's going to cause some problems. 120-mile-per-hour winds now, category 3, perhaps getting closer to category 4 and as it mon moves to the north, through the bahamas, that's next week, this is not happening quickly, the computer models are pretty varied here, so there's no guarantee that it's going to curve and go out to sea. that's a very large storm, so any of these solutions, even within a couple hundred miles of the east coast would affect us in the form of wind and coastal issues and maybe even some rain, let's talk more about how this could affect our weather coming up a little bit later. this is something that drivers have wanted for years. >> but it hasn't been allowed since the terror attacks of september 11th.
4:22 pm
we have a live look at the ben franklin bridge. what's been banned for years. >> you haven't answered all of our questions. >> questioning seth williams, the $45,000 gift that has the nbc 10 investigators digging deeper into the da's past. and a close encounter he won't soon forget. that's next here on nbc 10 at 4:00. and you can see stocks closed higher today.
