and digging in a search that could crack the mysterious disappearance of this woman nearly three years ago. that woman disappeared from her home in lehigh county in november 2013. now the search has led investigators to a house about an hour away in ross township, monroe county. nbc 10's deanna durante has been working the story all day long. she joins us now live from ross township. deanna, what are police telling you? >> reporter: at this point nothing, despite repeated requests for comment. we can tell you we spoke with the mother of holly grim. she's having more of these fliers printed up, holding out hope that her daughter is still alive. state police are keeping watch at this house. they expect to be out here digging again tomorrow. from the air, you can see them. dozens of forensic investigators, state police officers, and medical examiner staff, all digging and sifting through the dirt behind this ross township home. a man who once worked with holly grim owns the house. grim took her son to the bus stop back in 2013.

she drove home, chatted with a neighbor, and never made it to work at allen organ. >> i keep thinking i should have been there earlier for her. >> reporter: jeanette says she knows the man who was the property owner at this home. she says she and her daughter both worked with him. jeanette says she was told by pennsylvania state police they would be searching the area but refuses to believe holly was harmed. >> we need to put up more posters. we have have lots of people working on that. it's so important that if you see someone that looks like her, please call the state police. >> reporter: the owner of allen organ says he can't talk about grim or the former employee. he says he keeps the grim family in his thoughts and hopes they get closure soon. jeanette says she's raising her grandson and wants to make her daughter proud. she's still asking for people to keep looking for her daughter. >> if you see anything really unusual, call the police.

they'll check it out. it never hurts. you would be amazed what a little -- what you think is a little thing that can turn out to be huge. >> reporter: now, jeanette grim says she wasn't surprised to hear news reports of the search going on here at this house. she said state police did contact her ahead of time and told her what would be going on. today she greeted us with these buttons she had printed up with her daughter's picture and her home phone number, she's passing them out, hoping somebody knows something about what happened to her daughter three years ago. deanna did your anurantedurante. a short time ago donald trump told supporters in colorado that he legally used the tax laws to his benefit. trump said in private business, he brilliantly used those laws to pay as little tax as legally possible during turbulent

economic times. over the weekend, "the new york times" reported that trump may have avoided paying taxes for almost 20 years after losing nearly a billion dollars back in 1995. the unfairness of the tax laws is unbelievable. it's something i've been talking about for a long time, despite, frankly, being a big beneficiary of the laws. >> at an earlier rally in virginia, trump told a veterans' group that he would work to end political correctness in the military. >> like the whole concept of profiling. i mentioned the other day profiling, everyone goes, oh, profiling, profiling. well, profiling is, you know, in israel they're doing it and they're doing it well. and we may have to do that. >> in addition, trump repeatedly linked cybersecurity threats to hillary clinton's use of a private e-mail server. but trump's rival, hillary clinton, spent the day reminding people about donald trump's

believes his son is innocent. >> why? he wouldn't. there's no rhyme or reason. there's no motive. there was no reason why this father would take his son's life. >> brendan's grandparents plan to honor the anniversary of his death, which is in ten days. they'll be holding a mass october 15th at holy savior church in haddon township. happening now, the first evening commute is in full swing under septa's new schedule. this is a live look at 30th street station where septa says the train schedule is back to normal. something commuters have been waiting for for confinemequite . a third of septa's rail cars were sidelined because of a suspension problem. today's scheduled change means 200 more trips across septa's 13 regional rail lines. >> at first it was a little slow. i think everybody adjusted, commuters adjusted. obviously septa was able to adjust a bit. and they made a tough situation not so bad in the end.

>> septa tells us it hopes to return 14 of the repaired cars to the rails every week through november until all of them are back online. now to the latest on the deadly new jersey transit crash. in a report that says officials were aware of violations on new jersey's transit's safety record, according to an associated press report, a u.s. official says dozens of violations were found during an audit. meanwhile, the ntsb says the engineer who was at the controls at the time of the crash told them, quote, he has no memory of the accident. one person was killed, 114 others injured during last thursday's crash. investigators say they recovered one of the event recorders but it wasn't operational. the black box remains in the control car which is not yet accessible because of dangerous debris. tonight there are questions and concerns about kanye west's upcoming concert in philadelphia, following an attack on his reality star wife. kim kardashian west is back in

bracing for hurricane matthew. it is a monster hurricane, moving over the caribbean. and it could impact the east coast later this week. for now, the concerns are for jamaica, cuba, and haiti. haiti could see the worst of it. people are bracing for matthew as the extremely dangerous hurricane continues to churn. winds are kicking up. thousands of people are being evacuated to shelters and churches. haiti still struggling to rebuild from a massive earthquake six years ago. delaware has a significant haitian community. new at 6:00 tonight, nbc 10's tim furlong spoke to some of its members who are watching with concern. >> reporter: fritz is safe and dry and wilmington. but his friend is in his home country of haiti. hurricane matthew is bad and it's getting worse tonight, 45 inches of rain expected and winds up to 130 miles per hour.

hurricane matthew very closely as we end out the week. it should be get closer to the united states by the end of the week as well. we do have cooler temperatures ahead. beautiful look out at rehoboth beach right now. the fog from this morning has cleared. a lot of the cloud cover has even cleared out too, skies mostly clear at rehoboth beach. over the next couple of days we'll be cooling down too, feeling like fall. many of our pennsylvania suburbs as well as the lehigh valley, south jersey neighborhoods, around 70 degrees. we'll take a close-up look at newcastle county in delaware. harmony hills, 72. odessa coming in at 73. if you're in harrington, you're in the upper 60s now with a little more of a north wind. lewis, 70. rehoboth beach, right around 69 degrees. can we weather outside. we do have a few light showers that tried to move into parts of

the lehigh valley. we're moving through berks county. now they're trying to move into upper montgomery county, weakening as they do so. this is really the last of what we'll see for this evening. can't rule out a stray shower even tomorrow, but for the most part, we'll be mostly dry. also mostly cloudy. i think we'll have a lot of areas that will only get to the upper 60s, so cooler than today. langhorne, 69 degrees. allentown coming in only in the mid-60s tomorrow. mostly cloudy, newark at 67 tomorrow afternoon. so feeling a lot more like fall. so here's future weather. the clouds will stay around tomorrow, a mostly cloudy day. can't rule out an isolated shower. if you see one, it will be a pretty quick mover. by wednesday, still looking at the clouds around, but we're fairly dry. into thursday, fairly dry. for friday, expected to be dry. we'll stay mostly dry ending out the week, you don't need to

worry about carrying that umbrella around with you. by thursday, farther to the south, around the bahamas, around the coast of iffflorida, that would be hurricane matthew. here it is south of hispaniola and jamaica, max winds 140 miles per hour. these areas are all under hurricane warning, this is a category 4 warning, very well-organized. it will continue moving to the north and take a turn closer to florida over the next couple of days, that will put it over the bahamas as possibly a category 3 hurricane. the most recent track update does put more of florida in the track. north and south carolina seeing more of that in the track as well. that goes into saturday afternoon. so of course we're getting farther out in time. the cone gets wired because of uncertainty. so this is something we have to watch very closely for, and impact to the united states. now we look at all the computer models. we have a pretty big spread here across the weekend. we'll be watching to see maybe
