piling on, tonight more people are pulling their support for donald trump because of those lewd comments. and now his wife is weighing in on the scandal. tracking rain -- more wet weather is moving in tonight and some areas could be at risk for flooding. and matthew makes landfall, tonight the hurricane is blamed for several deaths on the east coast. and more damage is still being done. good evening, i'm denise nakano, today we've seen fallout over the lewd comments by donald trump. but in the past half-hour, dozens of supporters gathered at trump tower in new york city, to show their support for the presidential candidate. and trump himself came out to greet them. take a look.

>> again, this just happening within the past 30 minutes. trump did not make any comments or answer any questions from the media. donald trump had been out of sight since releasing a video last night where he a i popoll jazzed for the lewd comments about women. this as republicans and democrats came out in droves to criticize the comments and called on him to drop out of the race. trump did respond to the calls on twitter this afternoon. he wrote quote, the media, and establishment want me out of the race so badly. i will never drop out of the race, will never let my supporters down. trump's own wife is weighing in on the controversy. she released this statement this afternoon -- the words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me. this does not represent the man that i know. he has the heart and mind of a leader. i hope people will accept his apology as i have, and focus on

weather, take a look at the nbc 10 radar. we've been seeing scattered rain throughout the day and more on the way with a chance for storms. let's take a look outside. at society hill towers in philadelphia. pretty soupy out there. fog has started forming in many areas. there's also a chance for flash flooding in parts of our area. let's get the latest on this from first alert meteorologist erica martine. >> first alert has been issued for heavy rain and fog, philadelphia, the philly metro area, north and west. for the entire delaware valley, new jersey, we'll see heavier downpours as the day progresses, and comes to an end. so keep that in mind, especially as you're driving. overnight clearing, by tomorrow morning. we have issues with heavy rain, widespread. and developing fog as you just saw on our live camera wilmington also seeing really dense fog developing so keep in mind, poor visibility with the addition of those pockets of downpours moving in from the south towards the north. we also have a cold front, i

far cry from what they were this morning the when we were being pelted by rain at two inches an hour and winds. this as hurricane matthew tracks along the atlantic. the size and scope of hurricane matthew's strength now visible from the air. the storm literally wiping away jacksonville beach in florida. evidence of the powerful storm surge that pummeled the atlantic coastline, from florida to north carolina. >> yes, it did downgrade into wind. but it upgraded into the volume of water. and water can kill. >> the storm left behind widespread destruction as it skirted florida. >> unbelievable. >> poor people, poor, poor people that have to relocate. >> before barrelling up the coast, eventually making landfall north of charleston. downing trees, flooding streets and knocking out power. now more than a million people without it. matthew inundated the historic

today the philadelphia fire department and red cross came together to kick off fire prevention week. this afternoon presented a $55,000 death in support of the no more fire deaths campaign. the red cross is partnering with the philadelphia fire department to give out thousands of free smoke detectors and alarms, since the campaign started last july they've installed 4,000 of the detectors across philadelphia. officials say having a fire alarm makes the difference

respects all women, we find the recent statements and behavior completely inappropriate and unacceptable. let me just start off by saying there is a bit of an elephant in the room. >> that was republican speaker of the house, paul ryan at the wisconsin fall fest this afternoon. that elephant in the room? is donald trump and his lewd comments. trump was supposed to be the keynote speaker at the event, but announced he wasn't attending shortly after the comments came to light. ryan said despite the troubling situation, he was there to talk about other issues. ryan did say in a statement last night that he was sickened by trump's remarks. while trump was the main topic of conversation at a clinton rally in philadelphia. the main message was get out and vote. ann holton, the wife of vice presidential nominee, tim kaine, spoke at an event in philadelphia. she urged everyone to make sure they're registered to vote with only days left before the

neighborhood forecast. when does it clear? overnight into tomorrow. reelly by about noon 1:00 p.m. when we start to see a break in the rain and in the clouds as they continue to work northeastward. so what do we include here? rain, flash flood watch for kent and sussex counties, so keep in mind we have developing fog through the overnight hours, so it will get dense at times. visibility will be poor. live shot over wilmington, conditions are just foggy. satellite and radar image picking up greens moving in from the south towards the north. notice here we're seeing some heavier greens, darker greens and yellows, oranges, i think we'll see some isolated thunderstorms especially as the cold front sweeps down from the northwest so keep in mind right now we have southerly moisture, tropical moisture and then the cold front that will likely trigger some thunderstorms especially likely. highs today for kent county, newcastle county so a wider perspective, you can see the

sournl flow, there is your massive cold front sliding down from the northwest. get ready for the threat of the rounds of thunderstorms, otherwise, locally we're seeing some widespread showers and that developing fog as i just mentioned. so far estimated rainfall total nominal at best. we have the flash flood watch for kent and sussex counties, live shot over philadelphia, it is developing fog through the overnight hours, into tomorrow with the scattered showers in store, current temperatures, 67 degrees and the winds remain calm. by the overnight hours into tomorrow i do expect the winds to kick up by tomorrow morning. current temperatures across the entire area, mainly mid to upper 60s, overnight lows, 58 for philadelphia. allentown 48 and 52 for vineland so a warm night in the forecast. your ten day on ten. we have the threat of showers again tonight into tomorrow. by tomorrow notice we're starting to see a break in the clouds for the second half of the day.

temperatures in the low to mid 60s. i'm going to go with an average of 66 for the entire delaware valley. on monday, notice we see more sunshine in the forecast. keeping it in the 60s, upper 60s by tuesday, we do have some developing clouds on thursday, but right now i'm going to keep it with a mix of sun and clouds. and notice these temperatures warming up by wednesday into thursday, now by friday and saturday we go back into the 60s, overnight lows not an issue for tonight into tomorrow. the issue of course would be widespread rain and that developing fog tonight into early tomorrow morning. and keep in mind, it will be a windy sunday in the forecast. follow us on social medi media @nbcphiladelphia. hundreds showed up for an open house birthday party to mark the milestone. for the first time ever the arena floor was set up to be half ice and half basketball court. fans were given a chance to shoot hoops or pucks. nbc 10's parent company comcast

torgerson, a dime for christian pearson. torgerson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another ten wins. tonight's nascar sprith cup race in charlotte has been postponed because of the effects of hurricane matthew. can you still see the race on nbc 10 coverage starts at noon tomorrow. i'm danny pommells, back to you. well a young girl who survived cancer used her birthday to give back. instead of gifts, 6-year-old emma lynn asked everyone to donate to alex's lemonade charity that helps children with cancer. she set up her own stand outside a home in chester county. emma lynn was diagnosed with neuroblastoma this summer but was given a clean bill of health after having a tumor removed. she's raised $2300 so far. congratulations, can't wait to see what she does in the next fewer years. for us here locally. the good news is of course we're not seeing the too much as far as matthew goes, only some
