. >> reporter: good morning. an investigation is underway. no one from the school would come out and talk with us in person. we know the student died foll following an altercation. just after 9:00 last night employees claimed they were trying to restrain the boy. we are still waiting official details from police. no confirmed cause of death but we are told the boy lives here and he was unresponsive from the fourth floor. it is a private school for children who have academic challenges. we just received a statement that reads although we are shocked and saddened by this event it is an ongoing investigation and we are unable to comment further at this time. again, very few confirmed details. we are getting new information

from our sources right now. we'll be back at 11:30 and following up throughout the day. matt delucia, nbc 10 news. >> thanks, matt. two teens are dead after a crash along roosevelt boulevard. the teens ran a red light before that crash. it happened just before 12:30 this morning in olney. the car collided with another car and hit a slight poll. accident investigators plan to speak to them about the accident. roosevelt boulevard has been considered one of the most dangerous roads in america. more than 60 people have died on this road in the past five years. state lawmakers are looking into the installation of speed cameras. it does not have a red light camera installed. sky force 10 was over an accident involving a school bus

the five-year-old told police he pulled his two-year-old brother out of the wreckage. the boy is severely burned but is expected to survive. the family was in the process of moving at the time of the crash. right now united airlines says the system is running normally after delays and cancellations around the world. passengers complained of delays lasting as long as six hours. united says delayed flights resumed at 3:00 a.m. philadelphia international airport tweeted there were no issues there. a houston doctor accused a flight attendant of discrimination. another passenger had an emergency. when she offers her assistance the flight attendance told her to put her hand down. the doctor called it

gusts near 100 miles per hour knocked down trees and power lines. they are monitoring bridges ahead of this weekend's storm. let's get a check of weather in our area. e erika martin is standing by. >> upper 30s and 40s. wilmington, delaware mostly sunny to sunny skies. high pressure systems keeping everything ideal. the humidity is low. temperatures really comfortable. if you look at the bottom of your screen you will see your local neighborhood forecast. it includes a sunny and mild forecast. overnight frost advisory issued by the national weather service until 9:00 a.m. saturday morning. we do have a chilly a.m. saturday but a warmer sunday in the forecast. in fact saturday once it starts to warm up just a little bit we'll see lots of sunshine and temperatures topping out in the mid-to upper 60s. next week we very well could see

the investigation is still underway here. no one from the school will come out and talk with us personally. a 17-year-old student died following an alter kag lacation night. the student had an ipod that did not belong to him. the student began fighting with a staff and students tell us he became unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene. we are awaiting official details. it is a private school for children who have behavioral, emotional and academic problems. a state reads although we are shocked and saddened by this event it is an ongoing investigation and we are unable to comment further at this time. the school is open. parents still dropping their

kids off this morning shocked to hear about what happened. we are working to gather information on this nbc 10 news. >> thanks. two teens are dead after a crash along roosevelt boulevard. police say the car the teens were in ran a red light, crashed into at car and slammed into a light pole. two other people survived that crash. three kids are recovering from minor injuries following a crash. the crash happened near scotland drive. no word on what lead to that accident. united airlines says it fixed the system outage that lead to delays of up to six hours overnight. philadelphia international

airport tweeted there were no issues there around 7:30 this morning. this morning hurricane nicole is headed towards the middle of the atlantic ocean. the storm danged buimaged build boats. it knocked out power. nicole was a category 4 storm. it now weakened to category 1. astronauts are keeping an eye on the hurricane. this video was taken yesterday afternoon. forecasters say nicole does not pose a direct threat to the u.s. but could cause dangerous surf and strong winds along the east coast. in our area it is a much different weather story. meteorologist erika martin is here. >> a quick look at hurricane nicole. there is not much for it to feed off of as it continues out through the atlantic. locally we do have really great

people will need more that be a drivers license starting early next year. the licenses are not in compliance with the federal real i.d. act. starting january 30th pennsylvanians will need an alternative form of i.d. to get into federal buildings. if the state does not comply by 2018 they will need that more secure i.d. to board a plane as well. at least three airlines taking as devices catch fire mid-flight. the airlines are adding a bag that a phone or laptop can be placed inside when it starts to burn. there have been reports of
