you'll need the rain gear and definitely your coat or something warm. we are here with the details. >> yeah. we have one more warm day. we have been watching the temperatures climb and then the weekend dramatically different. we started off with fog and low clouds. the fog is gone. that disappeared with the temperatures climbing. they will continue to climb. la look at the temperatures. partly sunny skies with southerly winds at 9 miles per hour. it's a wind shift that will make it much colder this weekend. 70s in the suburbs. you're seeing some breaks in the clouds. no showers for the suburbs. we have already seen showers this morning in new jersey and at the jersey shore. those showers will be here this morning and gone this afternoon. sunshine to warm us to near 80 this afternoon. not into the record levels like we have seen the last few days.

we have been streaming along the coast. atlantic city is seeing light rainfall. the heaviest are just offshore. light rainfall extends to the south. that's the first round of showers. those will move out during the day and then this is what's moving in starting tonight. the first of these showers will arrive in the lehigh valley late this afternoon and early this evening. later tonight and overnight tonight into tomorrow looks like the rain is headed for philadelphia. with it much cooler weather. look at the 50s for saturday and strong gusty winds. it will be in the 50s. still showers around first thing in the morning for philadelphia. we dry out and the window dies down on sunday. plenty of sunshine. look at that fall weather. low 60s. sunny skies sunday afternoon. that's not the last of the cooler weather. we are looking at some 30s on the extended ten day forecast.

i'll have that when i come back! 30s. very nice. thank you very much. philadelphia police searching for clues after a burned body was discovered a few hours ago. we are live in kensington. what have you learned so far? >> reporter: we can tell you police sources believe that the person who was found back here on this street behind the laundromat here could be a man. they believe that the body could have been set on fire after that body was dumped here. all of this happened around 6:00 to 7:00 this morning. we are told that a truck driver pulled down the street to make a delivery. went in for a closer look and discovered it was a body. it is believed by people who live and work in the area that it because man. sources telling us they do believe it because male who was maybe dumped here and set on fire. investigators are still very early trying to figure out what happened here.

dozen people. it could take more than a year to figure out what lead to the accident. philadelphia's historical commission is holding a hearing on jewelers row. they are scheduled to be demolished. the commission plans a review to designate properties as historic places. the developer has the permits needed. the mayor says with the way that fits in. the debris from this small plane crash is now at a hanger where federal investigators will inspecti?pqx:o it. they took notes before the debris was remooufd. it narrowly missed homes when it went down on wednesday. the passenger is of cherry hill.

misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and $1,000 fine. thousands of police radios are faulty. they were part of a $36.5 million overhaul. police departments in norristown are impacted. officials found some of the radios were just shutting off. motorola preparing at no cost. a battle over a plan to create protective sand dunes at the jersey shore. several homeowners filed to block the project. the owners claimed the dunes would create flooding and standing waters. new jersey's environmental commissioners said they would handle any flooding. they were planning to begin the dune project in december. and happening this weekend you can get rid of your old

we have a few clouds around. it is warming things up. with the clouds breaking sunshine is breaking through to send our temperatures to near 80 degrees this afternoon. so one more warm one before things change for tomorrow. that change starts this evening as rain arrives. umbrellas will be coming up late this evening and overnight tonight. philadelphia area into delaware and south jersey will also see some of that rain. for now we are watching the temperatures. we are in the 60s first thing this morning. suburbs nice uniform temperatures. philadelphia international at 73 and in the low 70s right now. northeast philadelphia at 74 degrees. they are coming up. we'll get close to 80 degrees. i don't expect to see any records breaking today. umbrellas, a few of them this morning. these showers will end. they will be out of the picture for the rest of the day.

the heaviest rainfall is well offshore. the next round of clouds is just to the northwest. look at the rain spregd throu spreading through the ohio valley. this is into new york. that's a cold front. it will come through tonight and tomorrow. behind it is some much colder air. futurecast shows showers at 4:00 this afternoon moving into burkes county. that's line that will inch towards the philadelphia area at 6:00 this evening. the showers starting in allentown. once they get going we see scattered showers to philadelphia into south jersey and delaware. steadier rain will hold off in the 1:00 in the morning. a little after midnight. that's the cold air pushing into the area. that will shift the winds. for today forecast winds out of the south. it is giving us the warm up. you can feel the humidity fist thing this morning.

we saw it with the fog first thing this morning. once the cold front comes through, the rain pushes through look at the winds for tomorrow. they will be racing through the area. we could see steady winds of 25 miles per hour but wind gusts could go as high as 40 miles per hour tomorrow afternoon. 70s today. as we go into the evening clouds building and chance of late evening showers. suburbs will also see late evening showers. 50s by late evening. rain moving through the area. showers will eventually make it into delaware as well. the showers moving through delaware. south jersey had seen showers. inland it has been dry. it will likely stay dry at 10:00 this evening. overnight into tomorrow that's when you can see the rain moving in as well. 79 today, 50s tomorrow with gusty winds that will die down for sunday. it is looking good for the

education levels. a local organization is continuing the mission to help victims in our community. she is here with bobby who lost his mother to domestic violence. we'll talk a little bit about that in a second. let's start with you. tell us about what the organization does. >> sure. it is a comprehensive domestic violence agency located in montgomery county. we provide a ray of services from emergency shelter for people needs to flee to community education, crisis intervention, legal advocacy and just education on the top of the domestic violence. >> tell us about your mother and what happened to her and how that effected you. >> yeah, so my mom was married to my step father for about eight years.

we grew up in a house with him. it was never a home. it was a house. there was always a lot of tension growing up. my eight grade year my mom moved down the street because my sister was a senior in high school and she wanted her to continue at her same high school. a little over 11:00 years ago he took my mom's life and took his own right afterwards. i was kind of lucky though because my sisters are absolutely amazing. my family and my mom has two brothers and two sisters. everyone lives in the area. they took us into their homes and we didn't really skip a beat in terms of just trying to keep everything as normal as possible. like i said, we were very lucky to have that support system around us. >> it is amazing. i have known you since you were in high school. you played baseball with my son, trey. i didn't know that's the reason why you moved into the school

you attended sophomore year. >> yeah. the community was fantastic. you know, it was a very tragic event. you know, it opened my eyes to all of the good there was in this world and all of the people that were there for you. >> tell me why you decided to get involved. >> i'm a big eagles fan. two or three years ago after the ray rice incident he got a two game suspension for domestic violence. i couldn't believe that. you know, the suspension got larger after they saw the videos and everything. i don't think you need to see the videos to know how it is. i had written a letter to a few guys and sent a letter to the laurel house. i said these are my thoughts. how can i get involved? how can i help to make a

the decision to designate properties. a u.s. military member killed helping iraqi forces to retake the city of mosul from isis. it is the first american combat casualty. richard reports from near mosul. >> reporter: isis today hit back with a sneak attack on a government complex where they exchanged fire with security forces. isis may be trying to slow down the assaults on mosul. it doesn't seem to be working. iraqi troops said they pushed from within four miles of the city, the isis capital in ie la iraq. iraqi troops brought in their heaviest weapons. isis fought back with suicide bombers. all of this was new to the iraqi soldier's ears.

we'll win god willing. isis does need to be retreating from some of its positions. the soldiers showed us a tunnel and bunker they just found. at the far end we came out into an isis headquarters. food still in the kitchen area, half made bombs, chemicals for more. and on the wall one of the most infamous symbols any where, isis logo. when americans were standing in front of this they were about to be beheaded. today it was their turn have isis on the run. reaching mosul the isis stronghold may be the easy part. today the u.n. warned isis gathered about 600 civilian families, brought them to isis locations to use as human shields. nbc news, northern iraq.

we know the identity of a decorated american soldier killed in an attack in afghanistan. a civilian from oklahoma died yesterday. they were wounded in an encounter with hostile enmy forces. earlier they say the man was responsible for the attack and three other people were also wounded. sergeant active duty four years ago and was awarded the purple heart. ash carter is in turkey this morning. he talked to the president about the country's involvement in the campaign to retake mosul from isis. the president has been frustrated at turkey. tensions are rising between the two countries. carter didn't say whether he thought turkey should be allowed to participate. they say sovereignty needs to be respected. >> today people in japan are cleaning up damage from a strong

earthquake there. it was centered on the western side of the island nation. it caused two houses to collapse and knocked roof tiles off of other buildings. at least seven people were hurt. the earthquake caused temporary blackout. there was no danger of a tsunami. no formal talks scheduled moving into day three of the strike. unionized professors said they are angry over a contract offer that costs them more for health care plan and changes other policies. officials with the state system say health care costs are rising for all americans. the system said it offered the faculty members pay raises.

financial. nice breaks in the clouds. blue sky and the temperatures are climbing. we are in the 70s right now. unusually warm for this time of year. our normal high temperature is 65 degrees. we are already at 70 in philadelphia. it is 75 in allentown. allentown 6 degrees warmer than yesterday. it was a record. that's 1 degree warmer right now than we were yesterday at this time. there are more clouds around. we won't get quite as much sunshine as yesterday. i don't see any showers in the immediate area or any records being broken today. i'm tracking showers later this evening and overnight tonight into tomorrow morning. redding late this afternoon and this evening. we'll see the clouds building in. we have already seen showers at the shore. it will come to an end this
