happened. tim furlong has been following this story, he'll have a live report in about 30 minutes. for the third time in seven days, criminals have targeted a center city landmark. next 10 was first on the scene after a break in at the clothing store boyds, and we found windows smashed. the thieves hit the window on chestnut street. they made off with expensive purses and jackets. the latest crime has left many in the area on edge. >> did a lot of iner city places, i have worked in the bronx, so i know there's a lot of hurt and pain and people don't have things they need to get by, but doing this is not okay. >> nbc 10's cydney long has been working this story all day, how people live in the area are reacting to all. that's coming up at 6:00.

we have now learned the name of the teen who shot a man during a robbery at rittenhouse square. police say he shot and wounded a man who tried to break up a robbery at the park last tuesday. police say another man was involved but hasn't been caught. new video captures the man investigators say damaged a historic philadelphia building, you can see him walking off with a brass railing stolen from the union league in center city, this was early yesterday morning, he was last seen carrying the six-foot piece on sampson street. this is what the staircase looked like after that theft. you can see part of the staircase actually crumbled. police have not yet arrested anyone. now the center city crime wave is the talk of the town, there was even a community safety meeting last night, again, coming up new at 6:00, we'll look at what's happening in

center city. we felt a dip in the temperatures today, but get ready to bundle up even more for tomorrow morning. >> sheena parveen is tracking your chilly neighborhood forecast. >> we have the frost in the forecast tomorrow, we have the freezing temperatures in the forecast tomorrow. so before you head out, have the jacket and you're going to want the jacket through the afternoon, it's going to stay cold through the entire day tomorrow. for the morning hours, frosty conditions everywhere, but we have the freeze warnings everywhere north and west of philadelphia. these are the pennsylvania suburbs, the reason for the warning, many spots will be close to freezing. the philadelphia area more like the mid to upper 30s, but if you're in south jersey area, like vineland, you'll have frost on the ground tomorrow. it's going to be the coldest

freezing, tomorrow afternoon, highs will only be around 50 degrees again. then we go through thursday morning, not as cold, but we could still have some areas in the 30s. today we're going to stay dry, tomorrow we're going to stay dry. this area of low pressure is moving through minneapolis, as it gets closer to us, it's going to tap some of that canadian air. so take a look at what's happening the cold air is moving in, some milder air does start to move in from the south. so we're going to see the bottom half of this system remain mostly rain. now we go into thursday morning, notice how the poconos, maybe the lehigh valley, we'll have to watch that very closely, could see a bit of a mix, that purple

elkton county. police believe both suspects were from there and were wanted for crimes there. >> reporter: what we have learned in the last hour and a half is more about this connection to delaware. police were looking at them for an incident involving drugs. it was quite a scene for the people who saw it. >> it was like pop, pop, pop. >> reporter: a police shoot-out at the elkton motel. police were serving a warrant on a man and his girlfriend. >> they knocked on their door, announced their presence. >> reporter: through to the window of the motel room u one of the officers saw the man draw a handgun. >> it's the craziest thing i have ever seen, somebody reached

out of the corner and started shooting and that's when everybody was shooting back. >> reporter: after police shot the male suspect, his 25-year-old girlfriend came out and she also pointed a gun and police shot her down too. >> both suspects were seen raising their weapons towards the police officers and the police officers fired. >> reporter: the southbound side of route 40 is still closed. police are on the balcony conducting their investigation. after the incident in dover, delaware, police searched the man's home, found guns, 2,000 bags of heroin, lots of marijuana, a whole bunch of stuff in that house. they tracked him to this motel in elkton. a chilly day, a windy day outside, and do you know what? it's going to get worse

mornings. >> sheena parveen has your neighborhood forecasts, and some areas we're talking about frost. >> temperatures at or below freezing in some of our pennsylvania neighborhoods and our jersey neighborhoods. right now we're at 53 in philadelphia, dover got the warmest at 50 degrees. as we go through tonight, temperatures will be getting colder by 11:00 p.m. we could already have some areas in the upper 30s like allentown, quakertown, exton, redding, wilmton 44 by 11:00 p.m. we'll be seeing temperatures freezing by around 5:30, and they could stay around freezing until 7:30.

atlantic city, above freezing, but interior sections, our pennsylvania suburbs and the new jersey neighborhoods can expect frost. >> the northeast extension is back open after four track for trailer collided. sky force 10 was over the scene near the quakertown interchange. it's not clear how many people were injured, but officials say they all are expected to be okay. the cause of the crash is under investigation. the driver of this truckload with cows jackknifed and flipped over. nine of 16 cows on board survived the crash. police say the driver did not load the cows properly.
