this session tonight. >> reporter: jacqueline and jim, the crowd was so large, they had two overflow rooms to livestream this meeting. there was a lot of emotion in that crowd tonight. people, brown and black people, were frustrated, and they were sharing their frustrations basically because they say they feel discriminated against at the bars and clubs here in philadelphia's neighborhood. they want to feel valued and want to hold those owners accountable to end that racism. >> i have faith in the youth in philadelphia who are black and brown that this will end. >> reporter: a passionate declaration in front of a predominantly lgbt crowd. several share their stories of racial discrimination at bars and clubs in philadelphia's neighborhood. >> the reality is that within the neighborhood people of color are -- [ bleep ]. >> reporter: this cell phone

video sparked the meeting. it's the allegedly the owner of a gay nightclub eye candy using a racial slur to describe black customers. it was a standing room only crowd at the philadelphia commission on human relations forum, and at one point it was so emotional it brought princes bush to tears. >> how does an oppressed community then turn and oppress its own people. that made me cry. conversations i heard my great grandmother have and my grandmother have, i shouldn't be having. >> reporter: several neighborhood bar owners were subpoenaed to attend. most didn't want to talk to nbc 10, but difficult wood shared his thoughts. >> mostly a lot of those leave that meeting seeing things from a different perspective, and we can do more and try to deal with the community. >> reporter: the mayor was also in attendance standing in the back. he says it's possible legislation can come from tonight's testimony. >> racism -- i can't legislate people's hearts, but we can legislate what they say and what

they do. >> reporter: p the mayor went on to say he will sit down with the commission on human relations. he said there is no perfect solution, but they will work to make it as fair as possible. live in center city, i'm brandon hudson, nbc 10 news. for the third time in seven days criminals have targeted a center city landmark. this morning nbc 10 was first on the scene after a break-in at the closing store boyds where windows were smashed. they hit the store on chestnut street with a car to get inside. the burglars tossed a mannequin to the sidewalk and made off with expensive purses and jackets. just today police identified the teenager accused of shooting a man during a robbery in rittenhouse square. police say 17-year-old manny fraye is facing numerous charges, including attempted murd murder. he turned himself in on saturday. another man was also involved, but police are still looking for him. to division 2016 and the final stretch in the

presidential campaign. we are now two weeks from election day. tonight more fighting words in the presidential race. this time it's donald trump versus vice president biden. >> the press always asks me don't i wish i were debating him? no, i wish i could take him behind the gym. that's what i want. >> that was biden last week in wilkes-barre criticizing trump for his lewd comments in an ""access hollywood" i on "tip. today trump said he would love to take biden up on his challenge. >> he is mr. tough guy. you know what he is mr. tough guy when he is standing behind a microphone by himself. that's what he is. he wants to bring me to the back of the barn. oh. >> trump was campaigning in florida. a crucial battleground state in his presidential bid. today hillary clinton received a high profile endorsement from a republican. colin powell, a former secretary of state for george w. bush and retired four star general.

buck's county community college. then he will head to mullenburg college for an event at 5:00 p.m. on the gop side national committee chairman riencp prebus will attend the burke county republican committee's fall dinner in redding. tonight pat toomey's neighbors were the victim of political vandals who had the wrong house. two of his neighbors in lehigh county woke up to this anti-republican graffiti. the vandals called republicans rapists and nazis. one victim had a toomey in her yard, but she had a hillary clinton for president sign. >> we're not going to change what we believe because someone tries to scare us, and there is no place in this country for voter intimidation because that undermines our democracy. >> the victims say they'll likely have to replace the siding on their homes. toomey is condemning the vandalism. so is his rival, katie mcginty,

and the police are still looking for the vandals. new at 11:00 a plan to disband a joint police force is now on hold in montgomery county. nbc 10 is at a borough council meeting. east greeneville desires to leave pensburg. east greeneville's mayor says they could save money by starting their own police force. tonight the borough council decided rescind the plan to disband the existing police department. both sides will go through mediation. temple police are making some changes in response to recent attacks on campus tonight. school officials announced plans to increase campus polices and security personnel on campus. we're going to show you surveillance video that captured one of the attacks over the weekend. police say a flash mob of mostly young teens assaulted a female student and two male students. campus police officer and police were also assaulted. police are still searching for more than 20 suspects. new details tonight about a

deadly shoot-out between a delaware couple and police in maryland. police say this bb gun is one of two weapons used by the suspects to threaten police. the confrontation was at the new eastern inn in elton just over the state line from newark, delaware. police say 25-year-old brandon jones was shot and killed after he raised his weapon towards officers who were serving a warrant. jones's girlfriend 25-year-old chelsea porter was also shot and killed. a missing backup dancer for beyonce and rihanna is now safe. she disappeared from her home in north jersey this weekend. family members pleaded for information and rihanna made a public plea on instagram. today police in north bergen said her family is reuniting with her. police say the backup dancer was getting treatment for an undisclosed condition. still ahead, royal real estate. what brought princess grace's son back to her childhood home in philadelphia. forget about how the gring

immersive. there's no limit to it. >> all right. i'm good. >> reporter: yeah. i would rather bring you along for my job. keith jones, nbc 10 news. >> that would be a great escape. you could call this next story how the grinch stole halloween. >> a group of thieves made off with nearly 200 pumpkins from a family farm in new jersey. this new sur valts video shows the thieves in the act. the van pulls up and four people start snatching pumpkins from a farm stand. the family says the pumpkins were worth up to $3,000. there is a $1 ,000 reward for information leading to these criminals. >> could be some frost on those pumpkins that are still out there, right? overnight. >> a cold night, sheena. >> going to be a cold night tonight. temperatures in the 30s. the widespread frost, freeze warning for parts of the area. bundle up the kids tomorrow morning. have your jacket on, and you might want to hold on to it through the day. we won't be warm tomorrow afternoon. then into thursday.

thursday we have rain in the forecast. kind of a rainy, chilly day. temperatures only in the 50s. here are the areas that we expect to get the coldest. potstown, 30 degrees. redding, maybe 29. allentown, 30. doyles town, 33. westchester around freezing. new jersey neighborhood, a couple of degrees within freezing. yes, widespread frost expected across the area. right now we're nice and dry. we'll stay that way tomorrow. what's back off to our west is kind of a growing weather system. it has more rain with it now than earlier this afternoon. eventually as we go into thursday it's going to get closer. it's going to tap into some of the canadian air to our north. that's going to put snow on the north side of it. not for our area mostly. by tomorrow morning, there you see it.

widespread frost. this is future weather. then through the afternoon, only in the low 50s tomorrow. clouds start to move in as we go into thursday morning. take a look up at the poconos. that's pink there. that would be a wintry mix or rain and sleet. then we get more rain. temperatures warmer through thursday evening and thursday night. that's when we expect the most rain. some of it could be locally heavy. temperatures mostly upper 50s. we clear up for friday, though, and friday, another day in the 50s. it is going to be still cool. there you see. it's the only rain chance before the week is over. mostly thursday. pennsylvania suburbs stay in the 50s the next few days. the rain coming on thursday. even for the lehigh valley. we could be in the 40s. new jersey, 60 by thursday with the rain. even along the shore. and in delaware. everybody will be drying out for friday. then we go into the weekend. the forecast for the weekend looking dry. look at this warmup. 70 saturday in philadelphia. 72 in delaware. 74 on sunday. then monday that's halloween. temperatures cool down again

>> how about a little boulevard brainstorming? the first of three public workshops. the goal is to improve the commuting situation along the 14 mile stretch between broad street and the mall in bucks county. additional workshops are set for tomorrow and thursday. the nation's oldest library is right here in delaware county. nbc 10 was at the darby free library today where a reception was held to unveil some much needed improvements. congressman bob brady will help to facilitate the facelift, and he took part in today's festivities as well.
