police showing the moment burglars crashed into a store early yesterday morning and stole sthothousands of dollars merchandise. pam has more on the break-in. >> philadelphia police are now looking for the two in the department store burglary. take a look. you can see a red toyota pulling up yesterday morning. the car then smashes into the window of the department store. the suspect ran inside and robbed the place. they were joined by other people in a mercedes benz.

here is how the store looked after the smash-and-grab. the suspect made off with expensive purses and jackets. police say if you recognize the car they want to hear from you. we posted a full video on the nbc 10 app. nbc 10 news. very cold start to the day. temperatures are staying below normal. this is a live look at the ben franklin parkway. we all needed the heavy winter coats this morning. quite a change from last week's record warmth. glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with your forecast. >> yeah. some parts of the area got into the 20s. we are warming up with all of this sunshine. 48 degrees in philadelphia. the average high is about 64.

so we are not going to be any where near the average high. it will be a chilly afternoon. you can see the sunshine across the area, about 46 in lehigh valley. that's pretty cold. we have an increasing area of rain out to the west that will be moving in. this is coming through ohio. world series being played at cleveland tonight. this band might be moving through at this time. how is it going to be effecting us? as we go through the day today you'll see how chilly it is going to stay. areas up around the 50 degree mark. tonight the clouds come in and then some of the precipitation. it is all dependant on the timing. this particular model by 5:30 in the morning still does not have precipitation in. it is right around the freezing mark. you can see this pink area.

this is by 9:00 a.m. that would be more likely to be sleet, not snow, and maybe light rain. at 40 degrees there it's well above freezing. that would just be rain. same story with redding as we go through the morning. then in the afternoon look at the expansion of that rain. the whole area just grows. i will be a wet afternoon and nighttime. the areas getting hit the hardest and what the weekend is looking like in a few minutes. in chester county one person is dead. it took dozen of firefighters about an hour to get the flames under control. fire officials are only saying that the victim is an elderly person. sky force 10 over a school bus fire today. this one near 67th around 8:30

this morning. fire officials tell us there were no kids on the bus. we are trying to learn what started that fire. in just a few minutes tom wolf and other officials will call on the immediate closure of the family detention center. the state is issuing the emergency removal order inside the center. it houses immigrants in the u.s. state officials are also issuing an appeal calling on the organization to take action at the center. pennsylvania has the power to hut down the detention facility while burkes county appeals the closure. happening now, new jersey state lawmakers meeting to hear about the five-year recovery plan. the mayor is scheduled to testify before an assembly committee.

the governor thooz approve the plan in order to avoid a state takeover. prosecutors could deliver closing arguments later this week. they grilled bridgette kelly. she said she didn't think the lane closures were part of a political retaliation scheme. kelly was asked about e-mails where she mentioned lane problems on the bridge. she says she used a poor choice of words. and jurors in the defamation lawsuit against penn state. the final witness took the stand yesterday. he talked about the sandusky sex abuse case and how it effected mcquery. he claimed penn state wrongfully terminated him after he

testified. now on hold for a meeting last night. on the agenda east greenville's desire to leave a police force it shares. east greenville's mayor says he could save money by starting his own police force. both sides will go through mediation. time to check in with jessica boyington. >> we are watching delays on 95 approaching woodhaven. they are take out lanes causing some of that on the northbound side. we are watching an accident near park avenue. wrijs are okay for the most part. two lanes closed with construction headed westbound.

network like we do you can know what temperatures to toss out. it is 47 in vor -- 47 in -- these temperatures are cooler than yesterday 6 to 8 to 9 degrees colder. it's going to warm up a little bit this afternoon with sunshine but we do have clouds that are starting to approach from the west. this weather system is going to be effecting us tomorrow. it has two pieces. you can see the first piece way out ahead of the second. the second is obviously the most active. wait until you see the timing of this. here is that first piece that comes in later on tonight, possibly a little bit of light sleet or maybe into the lehigh

valley. tomorrow not much in the morning because we are in between those pieces and then especially in the afternoon and into the evening that's that secondary ya that comes in with some heavy rain and maybe even thunderstorms as we go into the dinner time hour and mid-evening. so let's say about 3 to 9:00 p.m. would be about the most likely time for me to get rained on and some of the heaviest rain coming towards the end of that period. we have dry weather and much of the weekend looking dry as well. tomorrow we are talking about generally dry conditions early in the day and then the rain threat increases. we go through the afternoon and temperatures hold in the upper

last couple of days. much less wind. that's fine because it is pretty cold even without the wind. in our neighborhood weather you can see a lot of places in mid-40s. nazareth around 45 degree mark. we have high thin clouds coming in. this is ahead of the system that will bring us some rain. two pieces, one in ohio and one back in illinois. the first piece could arrive here later on tonight and if it arrives soon enough could produce a little bit of light sleet up here. as you can see during the afternoon there is a widespread area of rain. it is pretty mild. we get into the 60s tomorrow.

and we just saw some of that heavier rain comes in the evening maybe even with thunderstorms associated with that. for the weekend of course this system moves out and by saturday we are talking about 70 degree high temperatures with at least a decent amount of sunshine. just a chance of a couple of showers on sunday and halloween, looking good. a lot of sunshine, temperatures about average for this time of the year. as we go through the ten day period you can see the jump in temperatures from friday to saturday. then we are at least at normal if not above normal for the temperatures as we go through next week. look at that. tuesday at 72 degrees. thursday up near 70 as well. so next week is definitely warmer than this week. all right. people undergoing cancer treatment can tell you having a strong emotional support system
