but these flags will be blowing pretty hard tomorrow as well. right now, the wind is making it feel like it's 19 in the poconos, 24 in coatesville, 29 in philadelphia, 27 in wilmington. that's pretty cold for this time of year. especially consider it was 72 degrees on saturday. the current wind gusts, still 30 to 40 miles an hour in some spots. 31 miles an hour in coatesville. it was 43 miles an hour for the wind gusts just an hour ago. it's coming down a little bit because the sun has come down. but that's still pretty strong sustained wind. 8:00, 11:00 tonight, these are the temperatures as we go through the night. it's going to clear out. and so these are the feels-like temperatures in philadelphia, 31 now, going down into the mid-20s. so yeah, it's going to be cold. it's going to be windy again tomorrow. we'll let you know how much it might warm up by thanksgiving. and if there's any rain coming

in with the rest of the forecast in a few minutes. >> all right. and glenn, a quick heads up, we did a check of the airport. the faa has not issued any wind restrictions in philadelphia. there are some delays at newark and new york. make sure you watch every morning from 4:30 to 7:00 by tracy, bill, and jessica. they'll have your holiday traffic survival guide. plus get weather and traffic updates any time on the nbc 10 app. now to two thanksgiving week tragedies. in new jersey, two overnight fires destroyed almost a dozen homes. the first fire happened in trenton. it leveled nearly an entire block. all that's left, charred ashes here. even some cars were damaged. firefighters battled the wind and downed power lines that got in their way. nbc 10's ted greenberg reports from the garden state's capital city. >> reporter: tonight investigators are trying to pinpoint exactly what touched off this devastating fire that quickly ravaged a block of houses. three days before thanksgiving,

families in anguish. nine homes on weinberg place in trenton now in ruins. >> completely destroyed. my documents, my medical school diplomas, everything destroyed. >> everybody came out. >> reporter: people woke up their neighbors soon after the fire broke out around 3:00 a.m. >> it was like an explosion. i looked through my window. there was fire and smoke. >> you never see in your life. >> reporter: three people went to the hospital, including a firefighter with an injured leg. five of the houses collapsed. cars destroyed, siding melted on nearby homes. firefighters say winds were gusty, but their biggest challenge came from falling power lines. >> the fire from that time had headway, and there was no water being put on it because of the electricity causing a safety issue for the firefighters. >> reporter: neighboring houses had to be evacuated when utility crews shut off power and gas. the red cross tonight helping

more than two dozen people. angelica's 3-year-old son keeps asking questions. >> he wants to go back home. there's nothing to go back to. >> reporter: the deputy fire chief says it took a herculean effort to keep the flames contained to the nine houses. he says firefighters managed to save about 50 others. in trenton, ted greenberg, nbc 10 news. about 40 miles away in south jersey, another fire fueled by wind sent seven people to the hospital. this one broke out overnight in woodbu woodbury, gloucester county. it leveled one home, destroyed a vacant home and two cars, and left a third home boarded up. the winds were howling to the point that many people used garden hoses to soak their homes as embers flew. one woman jumped from a second story to get out. next door, a mother, father and baby made it out safely. we spoke that man who got out of his house safely. >> i came running outside and

most everyone -- everyone was outside, besides the one guy that jumped out the window. >> pse&g tells nbc 10 it responded within an hour to turn off gas and electricity. but the fire chief calls the utility's response time an ongoing problem. breaking news from bucks county, a church leader is unarrest. authorities say the 22-year-old sexually assaulted or attempted to sexually assault two teenager girls at his church in middletown township. investigators believe there may be more victims. nbc 10's denise nakano is looking into the suspect's past. we'll have the latest at 11:00. in japan, a tsunami warning has been issued after an earthquake struck off the coast of fukushima, which has a power

plant that was destroyed in a tsunami five years ago. there is no risk to the united states from the tsunami. back at home, a store worker stabbed during a robbery. >> nbc 10's monique braxton joins us live from outside the store. >> monique, i know you had a chance to talk to the manager about how the worker is doing. >> reporter: that's right, a manager here at the city blue says the store employee who was stabbed in the handed inside this store is going to be okay. he's being treated now in the hospital. the other employees in the store are with the police being interviewed. this is the aftermath of the would-be robber and store employee fighting. this is the damage done inside city blue at north broad and gerard. a store employee tells us the would-be robber came in wearing all black. he demanded money. the store manager was stabbed when he refused to open the cash register. that sparked a fight.

here you see they knocked over a sunglass display. two mannequins were also toppl toppled. the masked robber ran off, they didn't get to see which direction. the store is closed but they plan to reopen tomorrow morning at 10:00. live for now in north philadelphia, monique braxton, nbc 10 news. a bucks county man accused of sexually assaulting six girls in the same family will head to trial now. lee kaplan there in the front with the gray beard waived his preliminary hearing this morning on additional charges filed last month. authorities claim the feast errville man fathered two children with a 14-year-old girl who had been gifted to him by her parents. he's accused of sexually assaulting five other children. kaplan has maintained he is innocent. new details in a hit and run that killed an 8-year-old girl in overbrook. her school sent out a letter today informing parents about her death. cassidy elementary school is

offering grief counseling to students. she was hit and killed when walking home with her brother from school on friday. police are searching for a newer model silver nissan. now to the transition to trump. we're getting a better idea of who is being considered for top positions in the new administration as we await more announcements. it's been another day full of meetings inside trump tower in new york. among those sitting down with the president-elect was oklahoma governor mary fallon. she's being considered to head the interior department. her meeting with donald trump came after he spoke with former u.s. senator scott brown of massachusetts. brown indicated he's under consideration to become veterans affairs secretary. donald trump's campaign manager said today things are progressing smoothly. >> president-elect trump has been doing this flurry of nonstop meetings and really needs time to sort of reflect and discuss on the many different people from diverse backgrounds he's met with over the last two weeks.

>> kellyanne conway did not give a specific timeline on when the president-elect would make any announcements. just one day after his face-to-face with president-elect trump, new jersey governor crickhris chris held a meeting with his cabinet. it was unclear what was discussed. yesterday's meeting between president-elect trump and christie lasted for about 30 minutes. donald trump and vice president-elect mike pence plan to spend thanksgiving with their families. the trumps will spend the holidays at his mar-a-lago resort in palm beach, florida. vp-elect pence will spend his thanksgiving in mississippi. his son is a marine and is stationed there. volunteers showed their excitement today in north philly as they handed out free turkeys at the lutheran settlement home. 500 birds were given away at several locations. the city of philadelphia and walmart teamed up for the tenth straight year. planning your road trip before you head out the door this holiday week.

check out this video of a coast guard rescue this morning. the rescue helicopter sprung into action after a duck hunter and his dog became stranded in a marshy area near indian river bay in delaware, after the mehlville fire department determined their boats couldn't get to the hunter. the man and his dog were hoisted out and transported to safety. crossing the finish line at the philadelphia marathon is a great feat in itself. how about pushing a friend in a wheelchair the entire way? >> their names are preston and steve. we're not talking about the famous radio hosts that you know. nbc 10's tim furlong caught up with the two friend today about their special bond. >> looking good, guys! >> reporter: marathons aren't really a team thing. but for steve and his buddy

preston, the philly marathon was just that. steve needed preston every step of the way. >> i was joking, sing, preston, i need some motivation. >> reporter: steve is a trainer at the fusion gym in newark and helps with fusion inclusion, a nonprofit that gets people like preston running. preston's mom have pushed for changes in the marathon's policy denying running bikes. >> when preston is in the chair and we're in a race together, way try to go as harass we can that day. >> reporter: steve didn't expect to win the philly marathon. he had want more people to get behind the movement to get more folks out there on the course, specifically folks who can't run it for themselves. >> people just have grasped onto the idea of, it's all about inclusion, let's get everybody out there and run. >> reporter: tim furlong, nbc 10 news. >> that's fantastic.

runners yesterday also had to battle the wind, the cold temperatures, especially when they finished running. >> i know, yes, when they stopped. >> all bundled up. >> how long is this wind going to stick around, glenn? >> it's going to be a windy day tomorrow. not quite as severe as what we saw today. we could see gusts at 35 miles per hour tomorrow afternoon. and intergoing to get any warmer either. the temperature isn't going up. it's already down into the 30s in much of the area, 40 in philadelphia, that's the warm spot. we got up to 45 today. it feels like it's in the 20s. 29 in philadelphia, 24 in coatesville, 19 in mt. pocono. and that is one chilly day. the average high this time of the year is 54. we got up to 45. tomorrow we may add a whole degree to that. and then we gradually creep up. we're not talking about anything close to the 72 degrees that we had on saturday. we may not even get to 60 coming up in the next ten days in my

forecast, at least. 30 to 35-mile-an-hour gusts. we saw gusts up to 47 in philadelphia today. 48 in lancaster. and 54 miles an hour in harrisburg. the future feels-like temperatures are based on sustained winds, not the gusts. it's going to be feeling like the 20s throughout the area by 9:00. and as we go toward tomorrow morning, when you get up and get out, go to a bus stop or whatever, yeah, it's going to be really cold. it's cold and it's going to still be windy. and it's windy much of the day tomorrow. that's going to keep those feels-like temperatures down. by tomorrow afternoon, feeling like 41. that's about as good as we're going to get. and then tuesday night and into wednesday morning, it's going to feel pretty cold too. that's a day and a half from now. by wednesday afternoon, things

are easing up a little bit, feeling a little closer to 50. still chilly for this time of year. the future wind gusts by tomorrow morning near 30 miles an hour. perhaps we go into the afternoon, around 35. and then tomorrow evening, that's when the wind really dies down. this is not dying down. these are lake-effect snows. the cold wind over the warm lakes. and it just goes right in these bands. these band are not moving. those areas are getting crushed with snow. that's not what's coming this way. this system here in the middle of the country. that's going to take a while. int it's not that strong. i'm not especially impressed by the threat of rain on thanksgiving day. but it's warm enough for rain in chicago tomorrow, and in cleveland and detroit. it gives you an idea that the air mass as a whole at least is going to be warming up. as we go into thanksgiving day,

the first thing, the rain is still to the west, but there are some showers perhaps later in the morning, midday hours. and then it moves out. so if you're traveling wednesday, some rain showers in pittsburgh. rain showers in washington coming in thanksgiving day. dry in the poconos for a couple of days. and dry in new england. pretty good travel conditions. as far as thanksgiving itself, chance for some showers late morning into perhaps early afternoon. you can see how chilly the temperatures are, lehigh valley and p.a. suburbs don't even get to 50 degrees. then we gradually go up. there are those showers, just a few mainly light showers on thanksgiving day. and not everybody gets it. over the weekend it looks like it's going to be kind of windy both saturday and sunday. and then the best chance of rain starts to come next tuesday and into wednesday.

hi, wide receiver nelson aguilar had a rough game yesterday in seattle, including a penalty that wiped out an eagles touchdown. the second year player has 27 catches and one touchdown in ten games. he said after the game the problem is in his head. here is what aguilar said yesterday and doug pederson's response today. >> i have to get out of my own head. i try to catch the ball like this instead of with my hand, because i'm thinking too much. that's a selfish thing that i need to stop, i need to give my energy to my teammates in the organization. >> those are definitely concerns i have now that obviously he's come out and said that publicly, you know, my concern is for him as an individual, as a person. i want to make sure that he's, you know, in a good spot. football aside, we all know about that, i want to make sure
