i'll tell you right now. >> the deal announced today does not include carrier's plant in nearby huntington, indiana, that plant will move to mexico costing the city 700 jobs by 2018. and the recount in pennsylvania where the process will move forward in about 75 precincts in philadelphia. that's just a fraction of the nearly 1,700 precincts there. that will begin as early as tomorrow. the green party's request to have the machines inspected for m o . it's the first candidate driven recount in the u.s. since 2000. experts say the outcome is very ju unlikely to change following the

recount. counties have until 8:00 p.m. on december 12 to finish the recount. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with hundreds of parents having to find a new pediatrician after a doctor was arrested on child porn charges. >> reporter: first of all, i just checked and dr. kennedy is actually still in jail after his arrest and we at his office here today have been seeing parents come in and out of this pediatrician office. some didn't want to talk to us, others told us they are sad, they're angry, they're even scared about what to do now, how to keep their kids healthy and safe. at personal care pediatrics, the doctor was not in tied. dr. david kennedy was in jail in montgomery county. he's facing charges of sexual abuse of children.

in center city right there. we are finally drying out today. dry pavement out there, no umbrellas, but we're also in for some colder weather, let's toss it over to glenn to find out just how cold and wet. >> we are in december and the average high temperature just keeps going down every day. some of the wind is bringing in some of that colder air, we're going to be seeing gusts over 35 miles an hour both friday and saturday, we saw gusts to 30 plus today. we have got no rain expected through sunday, some next week, though. and then the real winter chill arrives next friday. that's when it's really going to be feeling like winter. now as we take a look at the skies, we can see the skyline for a change, yesterday was different, wasn't it? we have a few peeks of sunshine through there and there's no precipitation anywhere in the area. most places are in the 50s, except when you get north and west, we're in the 40s right now. and in philadelphia itself, it's

52 degrees, officially at the airport, but it's only 49 in west mt. airy, 50 in chestnut hill and andorra. you can see these clouds grad l gradually moving down from the northwest with the colder air coming over the lakes, and there's more sunshine today in southern delaware and in extreme south jersey. as we go through the evening, we're going to see these clouds break up as the wind diminishes, that's going to allow the temperature to go down, by 8:30, we're already down into the 30s in exton and redding. and later tonight we're in the 30s across much of the area. by tomorrow morning, it's mostly clear, 33 in allentown, 31 in quakertown. and then the wind starts picking up again. you start getting those gusts up over 30 miles an hour. but the temperature's not going up very much either, you see?

that's near noontime, we still have the low to mid 40s. and most folks are not going to get to 50 degrees tomorrow. the average high for this time of the year is 50. so this is more typical of early december. and if you're headed toward the riverrink for the tree lighting, the temperature is of course going down as we head toward it, but seasonably chilly, the wind will be less at 7:00 than it will be at 5:00. those colder winds bringing in chilly air that's going to cover much of the country by this sunday. we start to warm up a little bit earlier next week, but look what happens behind me, the first arctic air of the season starts coming into the country. by thursday, it's spreading and by friday, it's here. so next friday and into next weekend, that's when we're going to see the coldest air. now for the weekend itself, it's

temperatures over the weekend are going to be what we would consider to be pretty normal for this time of the year. and it's going to cool down in the evening, which again is normal for this time of the year, 34 degrees by 6:00 a.m., in many of the p.a. suburbs, bucks, montgomery and chester counties. and tomorrow it's going to be a little bit colder than today, still pretty windy. we'll tell you when some real winter type temperatures are coming in with the 10-day. acme announced today that it will open a supermarket in the snyder plaza shopping center near the penns port and whitman neighborhoods. it will include a beer and wine shop along with a variety of locally grown products. the store will also have a starbucks. some homes are -- the

so that really helped a big deal. the wind was blowing stronger than it is now. it's going to be blowing more during the daytime hours, the sun helps to trigger that. this is the direction, it's generally out of the west and some of the temperatures in new jersey, 50 degrees or a little bit higher. yesterday at this time, it was 60 plus. but of course it was raining, 50 in clayton and washington township and pittman and mull can hills, and vorheess, pemberton, florence, even robbinsville and princeton, and new jersey at 47 degrees. you can see these clouds earlier in the day just spreading down toward the coastline. this is the radar and satellite. there's nothing on the radar. those clouds are fairly thin, and they're not producing any kind of rain or snow.

and tomorrow, we're going to see more sunshine, considerably more sunshine than today, but it's also going to be chilly. places like chestnut hill won't even get to 50, swanksville, 49 for the high. allentown only 46 degrees, easton 46 degrees. some of these areas of south jersey and delaware do get into the 50s, dover at 52, newark at 52, nobody getting any kind of rain and tomorrow for the christmas tree lighting, the wind is going to be up there, if you're hanging around late in the afternoon, i'll be doing the weather out there. and then it will be dying down, just like today, as soon as the sun starts setting . but by 7:00, a little bit of wind, it will feel like upper 30s. so come prepared for some colder air and the colder air is going

to spread over much of the country by sunday. this is just seasonably cold. the arctic air is going to make its first, first appearance, in the entire country. there it is. by thursday, the whole middle of the country is just freezing. and it comes to the east later next week. so we're going to feel that chill. and this weekend, well, it's going to be chilly, but nothing like next weekend, next weekend, i think is going to be colder than what we have seen this weekend. and here's the 10-day forecast, you can see the windy conditions the next two days. relatively cool for this time of the year. generally dry through monday, but tuesday and into thursday, a wetter period and then look at friday. really strong winds bringing you in some of that arctic air. and the first shot of arctic air is really tough on the system. >> it gets your attention.

a woman bought new carpet but had a problem not long after

it was installed. >> she was having a headache and i said, listen, it's good to talk about it. she says she became frustrated when she said the company blamed her for causing the problem. >> you can see where it's going flat. >> reporter: paula james tells us she spent a pretty penny financing new carpet with empire. but says one week after empire installed the carpet, she saw it was matting. >> i thought this was ridiculous, i spent all this money and i should be having better carpet. >> reporter: she said her inquiries to empire went nowhere. the representative from empire said that she could fix the carpet by vacuuming it twice a day. she couldn't believe what empire said was causing the problem. >> they said it was because of

my mother's wheelchair. >> i know i'm not the only one that has a wheelchair where carpet and it don't do that. >> reporter: james argued for four months and then decided to call nbc10 responds. two days after we contacted empire, the company called james. empire told you what? >> that they would replace the whole carpet for free. >> reporter: but there was a catch, empire wanted james to sign this document before they would make good on their promise. they requested nbc10 responds to not tell her story and prohibits james from complaining to any other consumer advocacy group. and empire came up with a new document offering to refund the money instead. in an interview before she signed james had these words for nbc10 responds.
