what a bizarre night this was, starting with the reigning league mvp benched for the opening play for his wardrobe issues. and a violation. it included a pro bowl safety getting injured and a tweet about contemplating such, which was odd. and strong performances from the seahawks, as they improve their record. russell wilson, the quarterback. sharp in leading seattle's offense. thomas rawls, 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns. and the defense allowed the one score. kam chancellor leading that group. and wilson and chandler. nde game bal michele. >> russell, 40 tonight and 500 how do you think this team and llieoffense is rounding into had a great week of preparation. a funky week. you have to be able to play the next play. go to the next game.

they win the division, if they win against the giants. and they clinched the number one seed in the nfc, if they beat the giants and the bucs the following sunday night here on nbc. mentioned the panthers are about done. as for seattle, the seahawks will get a buy if they win out. the game in green bay next sunday, going to have a big impact on things. also, a couple of wins away from the division. going to bring in tony dungy. let's go back to what michele was asking the players on the field. what do you think the impact will be on seattle down the stretch? >> you heard russell wilson as he heard about it. kam chancellor knew a bit more. but kam said, this is a big hit for us. and i think we're going to see that next week when they go to green bay. green bay needs to win to stay in the race. green bay throws the ball exceptionally well. earl thomas makes those plays, from numbers to numbers. he's been a big part of that defense. seattle is going to miss him. and i think this is definitely going to hurt the seahawks coming down the stretch.

wintry mix. what you'll wake up to depends on where you live. we're bringing you team coverage. let's begin with erika martin with the forecast for where you live and work. >> they do have that rain and wintry mix on the approach satellite and radar image picking up on the system. essentially moving in from the southwest. we have colder air moving in from the northwest. i'm going to zoom in just a bit. we're seeing light wintry mix for berks county, chester county, lehigh valley seeing light changeover as well. this is what i'll be tracking on the hour-by-hour forecast. this is why the have the first alert for rain and wintry mix. you'll see your local neighborhood forecast at the bottom of your screen. lehigh valley, berks county, northern montgomery and chester hill so northwestern philly county. this is through 9:00 a.m. monday morning. tracking a wintry mix for some. rain for delaware and the jersey shore. now hour by hour, i want to zoom on in locally.

i want to show you for berks, bucks and chester county and north camden county. 11:30 we get this going. pause it at about 12:30 p.m. we start to see the changeover. this is the biggest concern. this is the rain/snow line. rain on this side. snow and a mix to the west there. this is what we'll be tracking through the overnight hours into early tomorrow morning. at 4:00 a.m., lots of purples, telling us we have that wintry mix. some sleet, of course. that mix of snow and rain so that, of course, means it looks like you'll see a messy and slick monday morning commute. so be aware. give yourself a little extra time for that early monday morning commute. the good news is everything starts to clear by about 9:00 a.m. this is a quick system, but we do have that wintry mix and that changeover which will make things a little more slick. back to you. >> erika, thank you. penn dot is preparing for

what could be a slippery morning commute at midnight. crews are beginning to arrive at the salt stockpile in lehigh county. that's why aundrea cline-thomas is continuing our team coverage right now. what's the plan overnight? >> reporter: the gate is now open. they're waiting for crews to arrive. they'll get in the trucks and put salt down on the roads. they'll also be monitoring the air temperature but really what they're going to be focusing on is the temperature of the pavement. that's going to determine how slick the roads will be for your morning commute. >> with only a chill in the air, it's hard for some to imagine conditions drastically changing in just a matter of hours. >> i have two little boys, so i enjoy the snow. i don't enjoy the ice. >> reporter: slick roads during the morning commute is the biggest concern for penn dot. the concern will be on the lehigh valley and the pokeio region. two dozen trucks will be out

shows no change in the tally. city commissioners plan to announce the results of the philadelphia recount later on this morning. recount efforts are under way in two other states. a recount begin thursday in wisconsin. another could begin in michigan this week. the president-elect and his supporters have been fighting to stop both. a victory for the opponents of the dakota access pipeline. cheers spread across the sprawling camp in rural north dakota. the army corps of engineers denied a permit for the pipeline to be built near the standing rock indian vesivation. the corps says in a statement that developers need to look into alternative routes. protesters have been trying to stop that pipeline construction in that area for months now. >> for the first time in history, american indian issues, heard our voices, and had the
