california on friday. authorities say it may have been caused by a refrigerator or other electrical appliance. also the al moda county coroner's office has positively identified an additional nine victims. while they don't expect the total to rise before 36, the fire chief said this. >> the fire department will be on scene other until we can look the family members in their face and tell them, yes, we have completely searched this warehouse and we can tell that you there are no more victims in this warehouse. >> and nbc has learned from interviews and records that city and county officials had multiple opportunities in the last two years to address possible safety concerns starting with annual fire inspections, but the head of the firefighters union zach unger told us he worries those inspections never took place. >> reporter: do they have the kind of resources that they need? >> not really. >> reporter: is there talk among fifthers that there are

pearl harbor attacks. police in riot gear and students in uproar at texas a&m last night. these protesters were angered by richard spencer, a white nationalist and member of the so-called alt-right. he was there to give a speech, but the university didn't actually invite him. instead, a former student rent out space on campus and asked him to speak. around 400 turned out to see and or disrupt spencer. police say that two people were arrested butter in the were students. new developments in a shockcation of alleged road rage as the sheriff lashes out at critics this morning. right now ronald gasser is sitting in a louisiana jail after being charged in the shooting death of former nfl player joe mcknight. gasser is reportedly cooperating with athrts and was interviewed by police for 12 hours without an attorney present. bond has been set at $500,000. here's nbc's blake mccoy with more. >> the man accused of shooting
