the flakes are falling. snow is coming down in parts of our area. this wintry weather could make a mess of your morning commute. ridiculous and insane. president-elect donald trump weighs in on the cia's report about russian hacking during the election. crushing defeat. the eagles lose their fourth game in a row. let's hear from the birds after another disappointing day at the link. >> announcer: nbc 10 news starts now. right now at 6:00, snow is falling in parts of our region. our area will see a wide range of wintry weather overnight and through the morning. the nbc 10 first alert team is keeping a neighborhood by neighborhood watch on what's in store for tonight and tomorrow morning. good evening.

i'm jacqueline london. nbc 10 issued a first alert to make sure you're prepared for the weather changing heading our way and how they could impact your monday morning. the first alert radar is tracking snow and other wintry weather. this is a neighborhood forecast. what you see will depend on where you live. the snow is a welcomed site in the poconos. here's a look at camel back mountain resort. difference from what we're seeing in center city. a live look at broad street. no snow or rain falling in philadelphia yet, but that will indeed change. we have nbc 10 live team coverage of this wintry weather and how people are preparing. we begin with erika martin. >> this has been a neighborhood forecast. we've been talking about it the past couple days. i want to show you our hour by hour forecast pegged this really well. the first alert weather team did a great job on this. we talked about two rounds of

moisture. the first moving in in the form of snow. light snow moving in lehigh county and mount pocono. we see a break in the snow showers. satellite radar image picking up on the back edge of those leading snow showers. right now, we're mainly seeing clouds on the screen. current temperatures in the 30s in the filphilly-metroholly, 32. this is really important, now i want to show you the second half of the system moving through. hour by hour starting at 10:30 p.m. notice we see more moisture move in. we're seeing it in the form of snow for parts of lehigh valley, burkes and bucks county. this is midnight. you start to see the warmer air move forward and the colder air retreat, here, we start to see

the rain/snow line moving through the lehigh valley. we start to see the changeover through the overnight hours. it really is a neighborhood by neighborhood forecast. if you look at the bottom of your screen, you'll see your local neighborhood forecast. i do think we'll see widespread rain by early tomorrow morning. through the overnight hours, lehigh valley, towns in higher elevation will see the wintry mix. more details in a ten day on 10. back to you. not everyone is seeing snowflakes. in areas where the wintry concern is the biggest concern, residents are getting ready. aundrea has more. >> penn dot tells me they'll have crews putting salt on the roads overnight. residents are also preparing. we met a number of them here at this lowe's. they're using this as an opportunity not to just prepare for tonight but the entire winter season. >> reporter: walk into lowe's

and it is hard to miss the ice melt, salt and shovels. >> we've seen a switch over the years where customers are heading toward getting prepared to winter versus reacting to win thor. >> reporter: the winter weather is here. this incident is not raising concerns among shoppers. >> not preparing too much for this one, but got to slowly get the supplies ready for this coming winter. >> reporter: it signals a need to get ready for the season ahead. that's why jude is getting a snow blower before he needs it. tonight -- >> i'll lay down salt, just to make sure it is down so if it freezes, it'll melt. >> that's, again, exactly what penn dot is going to be doing. laying down salt. their biggest concern is freezing overnight and freezing rain. crews will work as long as it takes until this event is over. reporting live in reading, nbc 10 news. for some, the snow is a

welcome sight. randy gyllenhaal is live in allentown, where people are excited for the taste of winter. randy? >> it is starting to feel like christmas. that's what everyone tells me. we had bitter cold today, as well as a consistent, light snow throughout the lehigh valley this afternoon. good for the folks in the allentown lights in the park event to check out christmas decorations. >> reporter: a light snowfall sticks to the grass at allentown's lights on the parkway. among all the reindeer decorations here, nbc 10 spotted actual deer trying to blend in. and across town, we found people dusting off their cars and putting salt down on the sidewalks. cold enough for the snow to stick. one of the first real accumulations of the season. >> it has to be cold and snowing to put you in the christmas spirit. >> i have to say, i enjoy the summer is little bit more. >> you don't have gloves on? >> no. i'll try to stay in the summer spirit a little longer. >> reporter: further east in the little town of bethlehem,

christmas city usa is full of holiday shoppers. at the christmas village, hats and gloves are popular but merchandise had to be covered to keep from getting wet. >> the cold weather is fine. the snow would be fine if it wasn't falling on the product. >> feels like christmas, right, boys? we're ready for christmas. a white christmas maybe. >> reporter: then the day family from quaker town. they head to grab some winter ice cream from the hotel bethlehem. >> they want ice cream today in the snow. we're headed for ice cream at hotel bethlehem. >> we really want to have some ice cream. >> to each his own on this cold winter day. back here live, the crowds are lining up. you can take a drive through the lights in the park at allentown. we have been taking a look at the roads. we've seen a number of salt trucking driving around. now, the roads are clear. drivers getting by just fine. live in allentown, nbc 10 news, randy gyllenhaal.

defeat hillary clinton in the 2016 election. today, a bipartisan group of senators called for a probe into the intelligence community's findings. demonstrators want pennsylvania's electoral college to vote for a candidate other than donald trump when it meets later this month. it just wrapped up at city hall. organizers say trump is unfit for the presidency. nearly all of the state s electors have gone on record saying they will support trump. here comes the rush. they hit him. the ball is loose. fighting for the football. redskins have it. game is over. >> so painful. so close. the eagles almost pulled off a late game win in south philadelphia. instead, the birds walked away with their fourth straight loss. this time to the rival redskins. john clark is live at the link with more on another

disappointing nail biter for eagles fans, john. >> last week was not a nail biter. they got down 29-0, and doug pederson said not everyone gave the maximum effort. that's what you wanted to see if week. will they fight? the birds did fight. but they lose again. they've lost eight of ten games. who scored an 80-yard touchdown? former eagle desean jackson. what a play on the ball. the redskins had a lead. then a cheap shot, what a lot of eagles players are saying, everett on sproles. that was tough to see. and the redskins then took advantage of some opportunities, scored a late touchdown and the birds just couldn't pull this one out. cars soson wentz was under pres. sacked four times. depleted offensive line. they lost key offensive players.

two men are in police custody after a shooting in the trump casino in atlantic city. a male victim was found, suffering from a single gunshot wound. he was taken to atlantic care regional medical center, where he is listed in serious but stable condition. two men were arrested a short time later and are facing aggravated assault and other charges. i'm tracking clearing snow moving from the southwest toward the north. we do have another round of snow and a rain mix. unfortunately, more snow. coming up, i have the details on the other side of the break.

the nbc 10 first alert team is tracking a mix of wintry weather. things are moving smoothly on 95 in south philadelphia right now. but road conditions will be a concern for the morning rush. first alert meteorologist erika martin will break it down in about two minutes. the champs are back home. nbc 10 was in german town to see the northwest raiders football team return home after winning their third consecutive super bowl title. the raiders won the title in style. they beat the santa clara lions, 42-0. a lesson in christmas sweets, all for a good cause in center city today. this was the scene. kids donned their aprons for a

gingerbread making workshop. each junior chef made their personalized gingerbread house. all proceeds benefit children's hospital of philadelphia. big changes coming our way in the weather. let's toss it over to first alert meteorologist erika martin. >> we're tracking, of course, the snow we were seeing, light snow for parts of the lehigh valley, burks and bucks county. conditions right now are dry. a live look outside. notice, there's not much going on here in the philly metro area. we're seeing the clouds break. of course, we are tracking the potential for some more light snow and a change over to a wintry mix and some rain. here it is. satellite and radar image. notice the moisture moving from the southwest to the northeast. clearing snow. we do have another round of moisture headed our way. that would include snow, a wintry mix and some rain. if you look at the bottom of your gescreen, you'll see your local neighborhood forecast. starting at 6:00 p.m., you see

the back edge of the initial moisture. by about midnight, we start to see some rain moving in from the south. we also see some light snow developing across parts of the lehigh valley. notice by 2:00 a.m., were seeing the rain/snow line, telling us we do have a wintry mix. that does mean we could see slick, icy roads. we're mainly seeing rain across the delaware valley. 5:00 a.m. through 7:00 a.m., lots of rain from west to east. by about noon, 1:00 p.m., everything starts to clear. then we see a much better monday in the forecast. here's why. neighborhood temperatures are very important. starting us at 6:00 p.m. doylestown, mid to upper 20s. as we pause at 10:00 p.m., we're below the freezing mark for allentown, pottstown and doylestown. keep in mind, this is when the

next batch of moisture moves in. it is why it looks like we'll see the light snow for the lehigh valley. burks, bu bucks county. again, everything clearing by about noon tomorrow. now, right now, we're mainly seeing 30s, a break in the clouds in and around the philly metro area. neighborhoods right now, really important. notice we're seeing a southerly push, why conditions are warmer right now. robinville, 33 degrees. tomorrow, temperatures will start to climb. we're going to see lots of 40s in the forecast, starting off with the rain showers. look at this, bethlehem, 46 is your expected high temperature. much better than we've been seeing. the overnight lows, above the freezing mark. 49 for phoenixville. newtown, 51 for you. mainly seeing 40s and low 50s. certainly much more comfortable than we have been seeing for the past couple of days. again, once the colder air settles out of place, we'll get

the warm front, meaning temperatures will be warmer for tomorrow, feeling a lot more comfortable. your ten-day on 10. includes the warmer temperatures for monday and tuesday. dipping into dangerously cold territory, especially thursday into friday. overnight low thursday into friday, in the 20s. then we're seeing friday, 20s with overnight lows in the teens. john has sports coming up on the other side of the break.

they needed a little magic for the field goals. the backup long snapper came in but they couldn't complete the field goal. then burton came in, the third string long snapper. they were able to complete that one. it was not easy. burton's first snap in a game since pop warner. >> when something like that happens, you have to step up and don't. it was my job to step up and be the snapper. obviously, i didn't do a good job on the first one. it was a field goal. i don't know. i'm a professional. i should get it done. >> i'm excited. you know, i try to take advantage of every opportunity i get. it went well. unbelievable play. the majority of it is on him. he did a really good job. >> they both said the balls they were long snapping on the field in the game were a lot slicker than the ones they were practicing with because of how cold it was.
