ago. this is for the entire area. everybody will be effected by this. it is generally 5:00 a.m. thursday to noon on friday. we are going to have windchills or feels like temperatures down close to zero. wind will be gusting to near 40 miles per hour on thursday. so the arctic air on its way in. you will definitely feel it when you wake up in the morning. you're going to feel it all the way through friday. now, the worst of this looks like it is going to come later on thursday into thursday night when it could be feeling like around zero or below zero. this is pretty cold. 5 degrees feels like temperatures. by friday afternoon we are seeing a bit of improvements. today though we are getting up into the low 40s. dry weather through the evening hours. as you can see, temperatures not reaching 40 during the day

today. these are mild temperatures compared to what we will be seeing over the next couple of days. we'll get into that hour by hour and talk about the weekend snow coming audiotape little bit later. >> all right. we'll see you then. bill cosby is back in court in his sex assault case. >> outbursts by lawyers and cosby himself. we are live at the montgomery county courthouse. you have new details about what happened there this morning. fill us in. >> reporter: there's a short break but prosecutors just finished describing the assault of 13 victims. they are trying to show him -- cosby's defense is expected to fight for a second day to keep that testimony away from a jury. bill cosby walking without a cane and flashing a smile. >> good morning.

>> reporter: he greeted reporters. the continuation of yesterday's hearing is of critical importance in his upcoming trial. he will again hear arguments from the prosecution about why the testimony of more than a dozen cosby accusers is relevant to andrea's case against the actor. the prosecution says the 13 witnesses will establish a pattern. that pattern deemed that he would meet younger women, befrind thb befriend them, isolate them, drug them and assault them. this morning she explains why what happened today matters at trial and why his legal team is fighting to keep that testimony away from jurors. >> a possible defense is he was mistaken as to whether she consented or not.

the prosecution is alleged they would tough they were also given drugs or alcohol or both by mr. cosby and then there was sexual activity and they didn't consent. >> reporter: and the defense is expected to argue they were actually just beginning their defense before they took that break here at this courthouse. they were saying these claims are incredibly old, that there is incomplete information, dates, times, other times that are missing that that is why this can't possibly go to a jury. this is the last day of the pretrial hearing. the judge says they will be here as long as it takes to sort through all of these arguments. i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. sentencing underway for another ally. yesterday fattah -- businessman

robert brand was sentenced to two and a half years. karen nicholas was sentenced to two years in prison. on monday fattah was sentenced to ten years in prison. he is due to report to prison next month. police searching for a gunman in what they are calling an execution style deadly shooting. officers found a man lag on adams avenue with several gunshot wounds. authorities say it was just inches away. trying to figure out what lead to a deadly crash. a driver slammed into another vehicle and then hit a tree early this morning. the driver was taken to the hospital where he died. this morning new details about a story we brought you about an nbc 10 exclusive. a police chase and crash could

help police in multiple high-end carjackings. it started in white marsh township and went to springfield before coming to an end in philadelphia. now, nbc 10 was there as a police chase came to a screeching halt in philadelphia. they say it may be linked to a theft rink involving high-end cars. since november 1st at least five land rovers and audis have disappeared. in philadelphia police trying to stop a gunman before he strikes again. investigators say he already struck twice over this last weekend first at the deli on rose hill street and at the mini market. here is a look at surveillance showing the gunman pushing past customers and shooting a 63-year-old clerk in the leg. this one was at the double deli.

conversations focused. it is held on the first thursday of february. he will extend the invitation. every president since eisenhower has spoken at the national prayer breakfast. temple university is introducing the newest head football coach. this is temple president richard who is the process of introducing jeff collins. this is a cool president here. collins is replacing matt rual. he is left for temple just days after leaving the team. collin is a defensive coordinator. it will be his first head coaching game. the 45-year-old worked at mississippi state.

and ongoing temple coach also has a history with collins. again years later at western carolina he announced he is bringing four assistant coaches with him. he will play on december 27th. head coach will lead in that game. happening now the dow jones is hovering around a new milestone of 20,000. a live look. right now the dow is down. i waiting the federal reserve announcement later today. they will announce it is raising interest rates for the first time this year. they expect it to rise by a quarter percent following gains. it could effect car loans. they are expected to release if

forecast at 2:00 this archlt we' -- arch afternoon. a ten-year-old boy dead and another recovering after being bury fld a snow bank. the boys were playing in a snow mound. they are trying to figure out if a tunnel the boys were playing in collapsed on them or if a snowplow dumped snow on them. the boy said he heard loud machinery. one was pronounced dead a short time dead at the hospital. we are in for frigid temperatures this week. parts of michigan are already getting a taste of the cold and the snow. that guy was all bundled up for a run. more snow and cold temperatures are expected there today.

we are getting a piece of that arctic air and very little, if any, of that snow at least far coup for a couple of days. we have cold for the whole area, generally from 5:00 a.m. thursday to noon on friday. it's going to get a little bit more tollerable by friday afternoon. gusts near 40 miles per hour tomorrow, pushing windchills down near zero. it is 40 degrees now with lots of sunshine in philadelphia struggling to get to 40 and much of the rest of the area 42. we still have parts of the city of philadelphia not quite to 40 degrees. dora are 39. chestnut hill 38. it is barely 40 in kensington. those numbers are going to seem mild once the next two days are

here. we have nothing on the radar close by and really not even that far to the west. there is a lot of clouds here. this is a weak weather system that will be racing through the area as we go through the night tonight. watch this. as we go through the afternoon temperatures are generally in the 30s. here comes this small area of snow. officially temperatures above freezing. that's later this evening. it is mostly in delaware and south jersey. it races towards the jersey shore. some up to the philadelphia area. that's 2:00 in the morning. so it's gone well before the morning rush tomorrow. there could be a couple of hours of snow especially delaware and south jersey in the middle of the night. look at these temperatures. tomorrow afternoon generally in the teens. tomorrow night in the teens. remember, we have wind on top of

that. by friday afternoon we are back into the mid-20s and there's less wind. that helps us out a little bit. the feels like temperatures, which are tollerable now, watch what happens. by tomorrow morning it is really plunging. it is down in single digits. it stays in the single digits during the day tomorrow and into tomorrow night and into friday morning. it doesn't really move much. that's big one in westchester. we have a system moving in over the weekend. saturday morning is the teens. later friday night into saturday morning snow, most likely accumulating snow. in philly we should see snow too. we may change over to an icy wintery mix for a brief period of time. it's changing the rain. saturday afternoon it's not going to be snowing. it's not going to be snowing

forecast. hey, glenn. >> yeah. we are getting closer and closer to when the arctic air is going to hit us. we issued that through the entire area. everybody will be seeing at least a piece of this arctic air. to noon on friday that's the core of the coldest air when windchills feel like temperatures will be near zero. it is gusty during the day on thursday. it will be windy when you start off the day. it is 40 at philadelphia now. we go back to the west. it feels like it's 2 below in chicago. 19 below in minneapolis. look at the wind arrows. which way is it coming? it is coming in our general direction. the feels like temps starting tomorrow morning are well down in the single digits. by tomorrow night near or below zero. friday morning is extremely low. friday afternoon things are

zero. tomorrow will be the windiest part with gusts to 40 miles per hour. it's 40 degrees right now. a little shy of 40 in other parts of the area. it is sunny. we have a land breeze at the shore today. temperatures are fairly uniform. stone harbor 41. ocean city 41. the wind direction will be critical as we go into the early part of the weekend. we have some moisture down to the south but still not quite enough for precipitation. that's what we are watching for tonight. there could be a little bit of light snow moving across chesapeake bay and maybe even grazing the philadelphia area towards midnight. it's gone in a couple of hours. by tomorrow morning's rush it's nowhere around. it could be a little coating on

the ground by the time you get up tomorrow morning. and then the wind and temperatures take oefrmt tts not feeling so bad this afternoon or by midnight but look how much that drops, 28-9 between midnight and 6:00 a.m. it stays in the single digits through thursday night and into friday morning. so that's when we are going to be seeing the worst of this. as we go into friday all of a sudden will be this area of snow developing and racing to the east. this is not a trivial system. this does have the potential for snow accumulation. this area a mix and maybe even icing. there is heavy presip, heavy

rain, heavy snow at 7:00 a.m. that snow line will be critical. the temperatures will be going up after that. so we have the snow saturday morning, eventually changing to rain by saturday afternoon. it's mild saturday afternoon through sunday morning. so we want to make sure that you know what's going ochbn. there will be tremendous changes through the weekend. high temperature friday, saturday and sunday. a lot more coming up later today. well, it was a crushing finish to sunday's match up against washington redskins. they fell to 5 and 8. david is here with us. let's first talk about the play that everybody has talked abiliabout throughout the week.
