night. his case was taken from the innocence project who worked to free him along with another person who wouldn't give up on him, his mom. in a red sweatshirt and a big smile, daunte rawlins walked out and gave his mom a hug. she's been waiting nine years to see him released. now 29, rawlins was convicted in a shooting that left a little boy paralyzed. now the charges against him withdrawn. rawlins is now outside, arm around the mother he says did the time with him. >> i owe my life for my mother, so whatever she wants me to do, i'm going to do it. >> reporter: philadelphia's district attorney today said evidence including witnesses, cell phone records and sales receipts helped back the claim that rawlins was somewhere else that night. the shooting that night in 2006

left jamar wright in a wheelcha wheelchair. as rawlins sought a new trial, jamar's mother has fought against it saying that a jury found him guilty. each day he said seemed like three. rawlins said he knew he would get out, just didn't think it would take so along. daunte rawlins says she wants to go something productive with his life. he does not want to go back to jail. he may want to work in criminal justice, advocating to for people with cases like his. they have a lot of catching up to do. live in center city, i'm lauren mayk, nbc10 news. now to a break in the case of a woman murdered in yaden. tonight a suspect is behind bars and the district attorney says he is the most dangerous

criminal he's ever seen in delaware county. nbc10's denise is joining us live from media outside the courthouse. >> reporter: these attacks were random, they were unprovoked and especially vicious. prosecutors say he targeted women in camden and a mother from the burbs. >> reporter: he faces a lifetime in prison and possibly the death penalty for a crime spree from yaden county which included murder and four sexual assaults. >> i'm just so relieved he's take on off the streets. it's just devastating. >> reporter: neighbors remember the night the body of that tasha gibson was discovered on the steps of her friend's home. prosecutors say allan randomly attacked the woman in september. >> he preys on women, he either

slashes their throat or he tries to choke them to death. >> reporter: investigators with the philadelphia police special victims unit linked allan's dna to four different cases. >> some of the evidence that we were able to recover was some surveillance video, eyewitnesses and physical evidence. >> police had him in custody in october, charged with the kensington attacks. described as one of the most brutal crimes they have seen, prosecutors say allen attacked the woman at random. allan is charged with first-degree murder and robbery in gibson's case, he's also considered a suspect in a murder in camden back in july. delaware man's behind bars

jackie kullis's son was killed when an ikea dresser fell over. a nationwide recall for the product. now to the man hunt across europe for the suspect wanted in the crash at the christmas market in germany. nbc10's erin coleman live in our breaking news center. new details about the suspect we're looking for. >> we have now learned that the 24-year-old was under surveillance earlier this month. he had recently requested asylum in germany but that request was denied. officials believe he was involved in the terror attack in berlin on that killed 12 people and injured dozens of others.

of tara o'shea watson. tonight a member of the armed services committee says the department of defense is now considering military options if they can find kaitlin coleman and her husband. the u.s. is looking into whether a prisoner swap could also happen. coleman and her husband were kidnapped in 2012, their hiking in the mountains of afghanistan at the time. both their children were born in captivity. they released this video of the family pleading with president obama to rescue them. a warning for holiday shoppers tonight. dover police broke up a credit card ring. police say jonathan williams on the left got customer credit card numbers and bought gift cards. williams is still on the run, police say they arrested these two other men allegedly involved in the operation. officers want everyone to check their credit card statements if

christmas landmark in bucks county is open tonight but without two popular stores because a fire spread in peddler's village last night. the cleanup has a long way to go at the nut shop and the christian nativity store. >> reporter: this is the busiest holiday shopping week of the year in peddler's village. you can see the christmas lights. but you won't be able to go into these two stores that were seriously damaged last night in a fire. the fire started in a popcorn maker in the nut kettle. that spread to a christmas store next door.

ending on a decidedly milder note. remember yesterday at this time, we were already down in the 20s in places in chester, bucks, mo montgomery counties here, they never got this warm yesterday for highs. west brad ford township, 36, exton 35, collegeville 43. warrington 36, new hope at 34 degrees. and it will be a little bit warmer each day for the next couple. we have had some radar returns up across parts of pennsylvania. but up in the clouds, not reaching the ground. that's what's reaching the ground, but it's headed straight to the east toward new england. so we have got dry weather in the forecast for tomorrow.

you can see the neighborhoods, you can see the low temperatures, not that low. 30 in carney, egg harbour township going up to 48. long port 50, newark, delaware, dover and rehoboth beach to 50 plus. that's well above average. and it will be above average for the temperatures for the eagles game, a little bit on the breezy side. so it will feel cooler than this, but no precipitation is expected and for late december, for a night game, that's not bad at all hour by hour as we go into thursday and into friday morning, it is dry, expect a fair amount of sunshine. and then as we go to friday night, the clouds increase. saturday morning, we have got some rain moving in, perhaps a few snowflakes up toward the poconos, but as you can see, that's a fairly substantial area of shourwers, especially in new

jersey and delaware. by later in the day, christmas eve, certainly by 6:00, it is dry, temperatures a little bit above average. lehigh valley, only 36 degrees by 10:00. not going down to freezing or below freezing, christmas day itself, starting off in the 30s, above freezing everywhere. and of course it keeps warming up, so by afternoon, we're talking about low 50s. in philadelphia and across much of the area. new year's eve, different story, we got a cold blast coming, right at the end of the year, it looks cold and dry, temperature in the upper 20s. a and the rest of the ten-day forecast, you can see temperatures gradually going up, there are the showers saturday morning, covering much of the area, could start off as a little bit of a mix in the lehigh valley and the poconos. and then we peak on monday and tuesday, more showers tuesday,
