. right now at four a wet start to the first week of 2017. keep your rain gear ready because you're going to need it. a soggy day for anyone out maybe doing shopping today. take a live look at i. 95 in south philadelphia as lots of people head back home tonight from the new year holiday. if it is back to work and school tomorrow, many of you should expect wet roads for the morning commute and we've already seen some of the heaviest rain today. >> nbc10 glenn "hurricane" schwartz is tracking the conditions in your first alert neighborhood weather. >> we do have the main area of rain moving out right now.

new jersey still getting a lot of it but the general trend is ending from west to east. but that's just the first area of rain. we're not going to get much of a break. the clouds are still here and here comes the next area from atlanta, that's just racing up to the northeast and that is going to be here tomorrow morning. take a look at this. hour by hour as we go through the night, little bit of light rain or drizzle around. so it's not going to really dry up. it's still going to be damp and tomorrow morning here comes that next area of rain pretty large area, actually, heavier rain tomorrow than what we saw today. look at that by mid-day we are just covered in rain, some of it on the heavy side. now this time you don't have to worry about any kind of icing or snow. temperatures are well above freezing now in the 40s in much of the area and will actually rise during the night tonight. so by 6:00 a.m. we're 46 and

midnight on new year's eve. >> there was an explosion. >> couple chards blew up. >> they were standing at this window trying to get a look of the fireworks. >> our kids through something through the window and he ran outside. >> reporter: and that's when she saw it a bullet on the floor next to the crib they use for their youngest daughter. >> it's a life changing moment there. >> reporter: they're not sure how they were missed. >> the trajectory came from the city side. >> reporter: a rifle was likely fired as someone was ringing in the new year. >> what people don't realize when you fire a weapon they project back to work. >> reporter: the couple called police right away, they took the bullet and are running tests on it. police are asking help finding out who shot the bullet.

>> clearly there's no-fault involved. they think that they're celebrating, they think it's fun to make a lot of noise and the bullets end up some where. what goes up comes down and innocent people can be effected and hurt or killed by that. >> reporter: now, again investigators are looking to see who could have fired this shot. to tell you how common this is, the police chief told us several years ago he was standing on that mountain and a bullet just barely missed him. this should serve as a warning to others. reporting live in mount penn township, deanna durante, nbc10 news. >> isis gave no proof but claimed responsibility today for that deadly new year's gun attack. they say they're still hunting for the gunman who can be seen on this grainy video. investigators say he disappeared amid the chaos. the shooting spree killed 39 people and wounded many others

including jake raak from new castle county. >> crazy people coming and shooting up and everything. i saul one person. >> we're learning more about raak and reaching out to people that know him. >> in philadelphia a fight between two men ended with one man shooting and killing the other and an off duty officer saw it all happen. the shots fired just after 8:30 this morning at park avenue and somerset streets. the off duty officer was not involved in any way and that shooter got away. pennsylvania governor tom wolf visited the barracks of a rookie state police trooper killed on duty in friday night. landon weaver will be laid to rest. he was shot while responding to a domestic incident. people later found the suspect after a man hunt.

he was killed during a confrontation with troopers. president-elect donald trump back in new york this afternoon but in florida over the weekend. he continued to raise questions about u.s. intelligence conclusions that russia used cyber attacks to influence the u.s. election. mr. trump told reporters that he knows, quote, things that other people don't and he said he will offer more information tomorrow or wednesday. the president-elect will have more transition related meetings at trump tower this week. and one philadelphia group is gearing up to march in the inaugural parade. they spent today cleaning the uniforms they will wear. members of the pennsylvania army national guard unit will ride horses. the first troop is based in fitler square and is the oldest military unit in the united states still in active service. the new congress will officially begin tomorrow. this is a look at the u.s. capitol where tomorrow members of the 150th congress will be sworn in, among them new local

representatives from our area, philadelphia's dwight evans. bucks county brian fitzpatrick, the new congress will be the most racially diverse in history and the senate will have more women members than ever before. in delaware county a house fire left one fall without a place to call their own. cell phone video shows smoke pouring out of the home on prospect park. this was arb 1:00 a.m.: there is no word on how that fire started. you probably aren't mowing your lawn much this winter but a south jersey woman says she couldn't cut the grass because her lawn mower burst into flames. >> we looked behind us and there was this big gigantic flames and the lawn mower was on fire. >> and when the lawn mower company wouldn't help she called harry harrison. how the nbc10 response team was able to get her a full refund.

. >> announcer: this is nbc10 news. right now four police trying to track down a naked man spotted in south jersey. >> they believe the same person's exposing himself to teenage girls and women in several communities. nbc10's south jersey sin did i long joining us from evesham, burlington county. >> reporter: erin they are definitely interested in understanding this man's motive. friday about 1:00 that's when the man completely naked chased two young girls towards these condominiums here in the distance. >> i wouldn't have known anything if the police officer didn't come to my house. >> reporter: residents who live here westerly drive in evesham are concerned enough to hide their identities. >> that's sick and it was cold

outside. >> reporter: on edge after police say a heavy set man with a lot of body hair got out of an older model jeep like this one and started chasing two teenage girls. >> the girls said he was in his 30 to 40 range and that he went to grab them and expose himself. he was completely nude but with shoes. >> reporter: it follows two that happened in medford on december 21st in the quiet huntington development, police say a man with a similar description and without clothes exposed himself. >> a female was out walking the dog. the gentleman pulled up in a black colored jeep with a white sticker in the back window and exited the vehicle completely naked. >> reporter: and a month ago november 30th he drove around in the winter cold without clothing police say before getting out of his jeep naked to look into a trash can in front of joggers. >> both instances in our town the subject was not aggressive

finished with rain for the next few days. it's 42 and just cloudy in philadelphia. upper 30s like lehigh valley. there is no threat of the icing tomorrow morning like we had this morning. 4:30 we had a little bit right around the lehigh valley and berks county that quickly moved out. new jersey and delaware certainly have had more rain today than the philadelphia area and the rest of pennsylvania, but look at all that moisture down south that's moving in our direction for tomorrow. the temperatures are above freezing. we can of prove it. this is in berks county, lehigh valley here, 39, leonard'sville at 36 even some of the colder spot like walnutport are at least 36 degrees and the temperature going up tonight. as more rain comes in, starts off a little bit patchy and light. you can see the temperatures in the morning well into the 40s

and then by mid-late morning it's raining everywhere and some of it on the heavy side. look at the allentown temperature, 40, it's not warm but not below freezing either. then we start drying out as we head toward tuesday night. wednesday is a dry day but windy and colder. so tuesday, wet. wednesday, kind of breezy and milder. thursday, the arctic air gets here and everybody is cooling down. everybody gets rain tomorrow. no snow. no ice. near 50 at jersey shore but most places in the 50s as we go to wednesday. in the afternoon. so here's the ten day forecast, the milder weather on wednesday and then the drop. that's the arctic air getting here and then it gets even colder. look at these high temperatures as we go through -- from friday all the way into early next week. we have a chance of some light snow on friday, believe it or
