moved the steelers/chiefs divisional playoff game from sunday afternoon to sunday night, as the storm approaches kansas city. >> so what should we expect in our area tomorrow? let's bring in nbc 10 first alert chief meteorologist, glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> glenn, the impact really depends on where you live, that's why the neighborhood forecast is so important. >> it's good for all of us, and although we're just on the edge of this thing, there are going to be many, many states affected by this in form of icing. you can see the precipitation getting closer to washington, d.c. at this hour, but you can also see it's moving pretty much straight to the east, and if that would continue, it would keep most of the precipitation south of philadelphia, where the temperature is going to be the warmest. so we should expand a little bit. here's the futurecast, hour by hour, by 6:00 a.m., no way it's snowing out there. it's not doing anything. the clouds are coming in. by noontime, parts of delaware and extreme south jersey, getting a little bit of light

snow. and then as the afternoon goes on, it spreads a little bit more. this computer model is bullish on the snow than a lot of others. a lot of other models give us very, very little to nothing. if this continues, past 6:00, like this model has, there would be the chance of some icy spots in the philadelphia area, just south into northern delaware and the adjacent parts of new jersey. the north you are, the lighter the precipitation is going to get. as we go through the night, these temperatures will continue to drop. we're already down to below freezing in allentown. 21 in mt. pocono. the temperatures are kind of marginal during the day tomorrow. even if there's snow, most of it melts during the day. more hour by hour and more neighborhood forecasts for the weekend, coming up. new at 11:00, the front end of a van was smashed after a

tree fell on route 1, drexel county tonight. police say around 7:00, the tree took out some wires before it came crashing down right on to the van. no one was hurt, but route 1 was closed for about an hour, as fire, ems, and electrical crews were cleaning up. at one point, 300 people were left without electricity. depending on the weather, the search may start up again in the morning for a missing boater at the jersey shore. family members say chris hug called a relative last night when his boat ran aground. he said he did not need help. nbc 10 was first on the scene this morning in tuckerton, as search crews looked for him from the air and on the water. crews found his boat, but no sign of him. >> we've been boating all our lives, you know. we're locals. it's just hard to believe. hard to believe. i just hope they find him alive. >> veteran boaters fear the missing man got into trouble trying to get his boat back into the chilly water. the process of doing away with obamacare has begun. the house took a major step in

that direction today. >> but with no plan to replace it, a lot of people who have coverage under the affordable care act are worried tonight. nbc 10's drew smith explores the potential impact in our area. >> this could be a lot of money. >> reporter: emily showed us the medication she uses to treat a chronic sleep disorder. she says without the affordable care act, she'd still be suffering. >> it's given me my life back, because i can get access to the medication i have now, it's given me, you know, a real second chance. >> reporter: she also works at a montgomery county home health agency, where she sees the worry about no clear replacement for obamacare. >> repeal and replace is going great. >> reporter: the house voted today to allow a repeal, with just 51 votes in the senate. >> we have to step in before things get worse. this is nothing short of a rescue mission. >> reporter: some elected leaders are organizing opposition to a repeal without a replacement. here in delaware, they're worried about a loss of funding to local hospitals, which could

>> this new viewer video tonight to have vice president joe biden getting a loving greeting at upenn this afternoon. mr. biden will be working out of the university of pennsylvania and the university of delaware after he leaves the white house next week. a data breach jeopardized the personal information of 19,000 people who worked in delaware. that breach involved two subcontractors with highmark blue cross/blue shield of delaware. many of those impacted worked for wilmington university, the diocese of wilmington and other organizations from 2004 to 2008. check with your payroll office to see if your company is affected. connecting with the community is a top priority for the philadelphia police department. making community relations stronger is a top recommendation from the department of justice. in a new report released today, the doj says the police department has done a good job making adjustments it recommended over the past year, like retraining and creating a

new unit to investigate police shooting. new at 11:00, a trenton mother faces charges tonight after her daughter was hospitalized with a lot of alcohol in her system. police say felicia hamilton brought the infant to a hospital after noticing she was drowsy and unresponsive. they say the child's blood alcohol level was so high, doctors sent her to children's hospital of philadelphia for treatment. she's in critical condition tonight. monsignor william lynn will find out in march if he'll have to face another trial or if he's a free man. that's the word after hearing in center city today. lynn is the highest ranking catholic church official convicted in the sexual abuse scandal in 2012. he already served nearly three years in prison before his release next august. a state jury granted him a new trial. new details in the investigation into the deaths of a prominent new jersey couple. the medical examiner has changed the death certificate of john sheridan to list his manner of

death as undetermined. it had been listed as suicide. prosecutors originally said the cooper health ceo killed himself and his wife. they were found after a fire inside their summerset home in 2014. the sheriff petitioned to have the suicide ruling changed. a guilty plea and a $1 billion fine in a case that led to the largest automotive recall. three high-level executives at takata are facing criminal charges. the automaker admitted today it knew its air bags could explode. the air bags are blamed for 11 deaths in the u.s. new at 11:00, a north jersey man accused of avoiding $1 million worth of toll payments. he's in jail tonight. state police arrested lester morales, while he was trying to board a plane to aruba. morales owns a trucking company. police say his trucks were driving through tolls about a hundred times a day without paying. a new movie theater could be coming to center city. the theater would be housed on

the third floor of the revamped gallery on market street. a spokesperson for the department of licenses and inspections tells nbc 10 right now it's a preliminary plan. no specific applications or permits have been applied for at this time. friends and family are remembering a law enforcement veteran in philadelphia. >> richard zapeli was laid to rest in south philadelphia today. he passed away last saturday after a battle with cancer. he was 70 years old. richard served as the first deputy commissioner of the philadelphia police department in the '90s. and he is also the father of nbc 10 assignment editor, marlena zepelli. our hearts are with marlena at this time and her nbc 10 family looks forward to her return. up next, a warning for anyone looking online for tickets to president-elect trump's inauguration. also ahead, how sexual abuse ended up in a high school math assignment.

assignment about maya angelou is sending shock waves over social media this can. this is the math work sheathe raising some eyebrows. one problem refers to angelou's sexual abuse. another about her time working as a prostitute to support her young child. but some students at penn ridge high school say the assignment based on angela's autobiography makes the work easier to understand. >> we have a lot of sad stuff in our curriculum, so it's not really -- it's not a big deal to me, because we've read so much about it and it's fairly realistic that way. >> but some parents took to social media to complain about the work sheet. so the school issued an apology. pennridge says a teacher downloaded the work sheet the from an online portal where teachers share materials. the very same work sheet caused a stir at a school in florida last year. a no-sitting rule in rittenhouse square is now in place, but not everyone is following the rule. this week, parks and rec put up

four no-sitting signs. three of them is in response to an increase in vandalism and to also protect the wall. some of the communities say the signs along with several new no smoking signs will also help curb drug use. but nbc 10 found people still sitting on the walls this afternoon. to the transition to trump. now the president-elect met with comedian and tv host steve harvey at trump tower in new york today. harvey saying it's not secret he didn't support trump during the election, but he felt obligated to get away from social media and talk to mr. trump in person. >> it's just me following orders from my friend, president obama, who says, steve, you got to be telling everyone to get out behind your computer, stop tweeting and texting and get out there and sit down and talk. >> harvey says he hopes to work with hud secretary nominee ben carson on programs for young people in cities. and we're now just a week away from the inauguration. tickets are supposed to be free, but people are selling them at

top dollar. >> nbc 10's brandon hudson spoke to am what in our area who found that out firsthand. >> reporter: when we spoke to caitlin sumner on face time, she couldn't contain her excitement for next friday's presidential inauguration, which crews are preparing for now at the national mall. >> i think it's just a wonderful thing and a wonderful opportunity to be able to witness such a great piece of history being made. >> reporter: sumner is planning to get a train ticket from trenton to washington, d.c., but for now, she doesn't have a ticket to the swearing in ceremony. tonight, she discovered someone selling tickets on facebook. when she messaged him, he said he'd already had an offer for $175 a ticket, but he'd be willing to sell it to her for $125. >> i'm not going to send that type of money. >> reporter: in fact, tickets to the swearing in should be free. each member of congress had an allotment for constituents. but we looked online and found inauguration tickets for sale on craigslist from prices ranging from $200 to more than $1,000.

while it's not against the law, the joint congressional committee on inauguration ceremonies doesn't approve. tonight, sumner is still ticketless. >> i contacted my congresswoman and they had said that at this time, that all the tickets have been dispersed to the constituents. >> reporter: but she will be in our nation's capitol next friday. >> i looked at train tickets earlier today. i can get a thursday night train out of trenton for $75 and i'll stay up all night, if i have to. >> reporter: brandon hudsons, nbc 10 news. new video tonight shows just how dangerous snowy roads can be, even for snowplows. take a look here. a tractor-trailer trying to pass a snowplow and ran him off the road in utah. the driver says he got blinded by snow and then drifted out of his lane. the plow driver is expected to make a full recovery. the other driver was given a ticket. and some in our area will be dealing with snow tomorrow. oh, yeah. glenn's joining us now with details on just what to expect. no heavy, heavy snow, right, glenn? >> right. and even when the visibility is

down, you've got to take the speed down. that was the main cause of that accident out there. the flags blowing this way again. that means the cold air is coming in and the temperatures are going down as a result. and we have some places going below the freezing mark. west callen is already down to 31 degrees. malvern is 31. exton is 33. gilbertville, 32. milford township at 29 degrees. bedminster at 31. warrington, 32. ft. washington, 32. so, those are places that are going to be well below freezing in the morning, but there's not going to be any snow falling then. just how much will the temperatures go up once the day starts? look how much colder it is since this time last night, 28 degrees colder in mt. holly. 30 degrees colder in trenton. if you want to head outside tomorrow morning, it's going to feel cold. it's going to feel like it's in the 20s. remember, we had record warmth yesterday. so that's quite a shock to the

system. at best tomorrow, it will feel like it's in the low 30s. and then, we're going to be seeing some of this snow. it's already starting, just north of the washington, d.c. area. it's a very narrow area. there's not a big storm, doesn't have the potential to be, doesn't have gulf of mexico moisture, doesn't have atlantic moisture. we have other reasons for the limited daytime problems. the roads are warm, from the record warmth we had yesterday, even today was on the warm side. the timing, the snow falling during the daytime hours, that will help it melt. and the temperatures near or above 32 also will help it melt. the problem could be, if any snow continues after dark tomorrow. that's what i'm really watching the closest, because look at this. by the middle of the day, as the snow moves in, look at the temperatures. 35, 35, 35, 35. it's not gouing to stick on roas

at 35 degrees after the warm weather we had. 3:30, it's still generally above the freezing mark. we've got a little bit of rain mixed in in southern parts of the area. and then by 6:30, it's shut off to the north and this model again has some snow, in and around the philadelphia area. and then, it's out of here. the amounts of snow, this is the snowiest computer model that we have up to an inch in westchester, wilmington, swedesboro, mainly on the grassy surfaces. not enough to even be counted in many other parts of the area. and other models, even drier than that. here we go, through the night tonight, temperatures go down below freezing, but by 7:00 a.m., nobody's snowing. as we go through the morning, 11:30, still nobody snowing. then as we go up during the afternoon, we start to see some of those snowflakes, temperatures a little bit above
