of groups including labor and black lives matter are preparing for a march on monday on martin luther king day. >> it really represents the threat of reversing things that people, you know, my ancestors, my parents, grandparents have worked for generations. >> in northeast philadelphia, they're michael signs for a women's march the day after the inauguration, now less than a week before taking office, the president addressed divisions in the country, saying, quote, to many years our country has been angry, divided and untrusting, some say it will never change, the hatred is too deep, it will change. and the events and rallies that we are seeing are a combination of grass roots activism like this and also elected officials, democrats having their say before the new president is sworn in. live in mt. airy, i'm lauren mayk, nbc10 news.

haverford avenue. >> police still have the sidewalk blocked off here after a 16-year-old was found shotted in head inside this building here behind me, there's a video production business in that building and we were rolling our cameras as a devastated family found out the news that that teenager did not survive the injuries at children's hospital of philadelphia. those emotional relatives did not comment to us as they gathered at a jamaican restaurant next door. they said they just don't know what led up to this violence on any possible motive for the shooting, they did not get inside. it has been a violent afternoon here in this section of west philadelphia. just a mile south of here, another homicide case, police tell us that a 27-year-old man was shot, at least a half dozen times in the face, he did not survive. and no arrests in that case either, but police tell us there's no reason to believe the two cases are connected.

we're live in west philadelphia, i'm drew smith nbc10 news. police are looking for the person who gunned down a cab driver in west philadelphia overnight. the 56-year-old is in the hospital tonight in critical condition. investigators say he was shot more than a dozen times on the 800 block of brooklyn street. jimmy superfly snuka is dead according to those close to the professional wrestler. his daughter posted in pic on insta kbram. #restwell, #familiesareforever. a judge ruled that snuka is not competent to stand trial in the death of his girlfriend who was found unconscious in a lehigh valley hotel. physicians had recently given snuka a few months to live.

king in bryn mawr today. it was part of the annual celebration at bryn mawr college. two catholic parishes in northeast philadelphia could soon merge. our laid of ransom and resurrection of our lord has planned for the pastoral planning initiative. that initiative plans to merge or partner struggling parishes. there are more than a few good men from the garden state. nbc10 was in new jersey where 11 high school students received the 2016 a few good men awards. each of these young men are high school football players, they were chosen to receive the award for their leader ship and community service both on and off the field. >> the idea of creating honorable people is amazing. i'm just happy that this program even exists. >> having this knowledge and experience of the few good men organization just prepares me

performances last year. here's a look at the ringling brothers circus last year. they will return to philadelphia one final time next year before closing in may. a deadly and dangerous ice storm continues to wreak havoc across the pacific northwest. currently 11,000 customers are without power and so far the storm is blamed for three deaths. and that storm prompted the nfl to move today's playoff game between the chiefs and the steelers for tonight. you'll see that game right here tonight on nbc10. i'm first alert meteorologist erika martin, it was gorgeous today, we topped out at 41 degrees, one degree move normal for this time of the year and the record set back in 1942 with 71 degrees.
