breaking news, gunfire erupting inside a bar leaving a man shot and a shooter on the loose. >> nbc 10 is at the scene in west philadelphia, brandon, what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, at this hour, police say the man was shot four times inside this bar area. you can see chief inspectors right outside, but police are inside appear to be talking to customers. there's a number of police cars out here on 52nd and webster. only one lane of traffic blocked at this time. police, like i said, put this crime scene tape up in the last half hour. again, they appear to be talking to customers who may have been witnesses. let's go to video shot moments after philadelphia police got herement investigators checked the outside of the bar for

evidence on the ground. by that time, paramedics took the man who was shot to the hospital. we're looking to see what led to the shooting inside the bar and ask police if anyone else was hurt, if there's any video from inside the bar or nearby businesses. back live, now, this bar, appears to be called the blue niles falls. we'll talk to the police right after this report and ask if there's a description of the suspectist. reporting live here, nbc 10 news. now to this, tracking rain, the first alert radar shows the the system that could arrive. >> no everyone sees rain, depends where you live. let's go to glen "hur rain" schwartz for the forecast. >> for the morning rush, the best chance of seeing significant rain is in the western suburbs. the burkes county, chester county, for example, not much on radar now, so look back west to

>> another side of remembrance in south jersey tonight. this was the scene as members of the community marched down kings highway to commemorate the slain civil rights leader. >> thousands marked today with a march in the street from philadelphia to north philadelphia to independence hall calling it a day of action, resistance, and empowerment, a way to reclaim dr. king's principles and apply them to today. president-elect donald trump called on americans to honor dr. martin luther king, jr. today. >> meeting with martin luther king iii in trump tower today. he called the meeting constructive and hopes americans come together on issues like fighting poverty in the midst of national wealth. >> we are a great nation, but we must become a greater nation, and what my father represented, my mother represented through her life, what i hope i do is always bring people together. >> mr. trump did not answer any

questions from reporters there. and the meeting comes in the aftermath of a war of words between trump and civil rights leader congressman john lewis. trump tweeted that lewis is all talk after saying the russians delegitimized the presidency. he marched with mlk in the civil rights movement and endured beatings. in miami, lewis did not address the controversy, but touted the importance of speaking out. >> stand up. speak up. when you see something that's not right and not fair and not just, you have a moral obligation to do something and say something. >> lewis said he will not attend friday's presidential inauguration of donald trump. and right here, you are looking at mlk's last speech in philadelphia, a speech that had a lasting impact. >> as nbc 10 brandon hudson found out, king's words takes on new relevance. >> i need not pause to say how

very delighted i am to be here today. >> reporter: this black and white clip is a speech warren says changed his life. >> there was a hush over the whole room. >> he was in the audience in the high school in south philadelphia when dr. martin luther king jr. visited in 1967. >> what i remember the most is dr. king talked about hair. >> i have good hair, good as anybody else's in the world. >> about how you are just as good as anyone else. >> reporter: dr. king came to school of a guest of evelyn white, worked at the school, and volunteered with king in the civil rights movement. she died in 1996, but her son remembers her mood. >> she was very excited about, you know, just the opportunity to introduce him to, you know, south philadelphia. >> reporter: the introduction had an impact. he became an 8th grade teacher, taught about dr. king beyond the

today, friends, family, and some total strangers remember the life of a 14-year-old mon montgomery county girl who was murdered. they held a service in glenside for grace packer. police say grace was murdered by her adoptive mother's boyfriend and packer and sullivan planned the attack for more than a year. grace's birth mother could barely contain her grief today. >> she was a lovable little girl, and i only had three years with my daughter. >> the memorial is planned by local parented who wanted to do something to reach out to the community. philadelphia police are on the lookout for a couple accused of robbing a woman inside her apartment complex garage. happened in the early morning hours sunday at the marine club on south broad street. police say the woman was followed into the garage and robbed by a man and woman in a car. officials at the complex say they are working to beef up security. new at 11:00. a murder suspect off the streets

tonight. philadelphia police arrested matthew white and charged him with the murder of barry jones. jones was shots to death in the robbery attempt last week. white is also linked to another robbery on 52nd street. parking restrictions in effect in dover ahead of the inauguration of john carney. he will be officially sworn in as the 74th governor of delaware during a ceremony at 11:00 a.m. because of closures, shuttle busses are available for those who attend. the attorney general is sworn in tomorrow taking the oath of office at noon. he succeeds kathleen cane. >> pennsylvania beer lovers, raise a glass to governor tom wolff. >> signing into law a bill that allows you to buy alcohol in any quantity at state distributors, but as nbc 10 reports, this

bringing music to the kimmel center, want band's second stop of the mlk celebration tour. it's been a day of memories and memorials in honor of slain civil rights leader martin luther king jr. today. ♪ a wreath was placed next to king's monument in washington, d.c. it is the sixth annual day of reflection and reconciliation at the mlk memorial. president obama and first lady honored mlk day by volunteering at a family setter in washington, d.c. the president and first lady started by painting the wall of hope mural and greeted children from the community, and president obama joined in on the fun by pushing children on the swing. a packed house inside st.

new at 11:00, a national clothing store is closing for good. american apparel shutting down all 100-plus stores. the company has four locations in our area and exact closing date has not been announced, but workers in the store in center city were told their store will be closing sometime in the next four months. big changes overnight in our weather. >> first alert chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz. >> it's cloudy tonight and wet tomorrow, for sure, and, of course, we're watching temperatures up towards the lehigh valley to ensure they are above freezing. they have not been dropping during the evening hours, so that's good news, and 35 in fleetwood, and 34 in clifftown and allentown, 35, and easton. no snow.

it's too warm for that. you need the temperatures to be above freezing so you don't get freezing rain, so so far, so good. the average high is 40 this time of year. we are 36 satsurday. we gradually creep up. tomorrow, despite the rain, wednesday, warmer than that, 10 degrees above average. not much on radar right now nearby, but back to the west, there's plenty, and in ohio and indiana, it's all headed in our direction. so, yeah, it's going to be rainy everywhere during the day tomorrow, but not necessarily everywhere first thing in the day. there's 9:00, areas on the shore, especially, not getting the rain yet, but you can see there's a fairly large area of it. not necessarily all that heavy, but you can get hours of this rain coming across, and there's 4:00, the amp rush, and we still have rain in the area. there's tomorrow evening. still some rain, especially in

the lehigh valley, burkes county and bucks. even wednesday morning, rain. there's a wet pattern ahead for a while. tomorrow, wet everywhere. we expect to see temperatures in the 40s in the area, 46 in fairmount, warmer to the south, near 50 degrees, staying in the 30s in the lehigh valley. it's going to be a big contrast depending on where you live. and headed to washington for the inauguration, wednesday and thursday looking good, but friday, not so good. it's going to be raining. the ten-day forecast shows the temperatures going up as we go through the week, but friday, some of that rain from washington comes up here, but that's in the afternoon. that's some significant rain. we may get a break over the weekend, and then really heavy rain coming monday and tuesday. >> next, the battle over the

a bruce springsteen cover band drops out of the performance at donald trump's inauguration party. the b street band was going to perform at new jersey's inaugural ball in washington thursday, but after criticism, the band announced today they will not perform out of respect for springsteen himself. the boss supported hillary clinton's campaign and performed at this rally for her in philadelphia. spring steen is an outspoken critic of trump, calling him a moron in an interview with "rolling stone," and steve harvey says he was hurt and surprised by the backlash received after meeting with president-elect trump. >> the two met in new york friday on his radio show today,
