most accurate forecast. >> we are far from done with this nor'easter. you can see there's still plenty of rain moving up from the southeast toward the philadelphia area. then up toward the lehigh valley. we're getting a little bit drier air coming in from the south. toward atlantic city and parts of cape may. but there's more to come. we're also getting very close to a changeover here. parts of berks county and even into the allentown area, that would be a change over to sleet. ice pellets, frozen rain drops that bounce when they hit the ground. that is possible. we also have more rain coming right up the coast for tomorrow morning's rush and even into the afternoon. the futurecast hour by hour shows more rain as we head through the night and into the morning rush, with the possible changeover toward the north and west. you can see more moisture spinning in off the ocean. even if it's not really heavy

rain, that will also add to any coastal flooding. so will these winds. it's still gusting to 51 miles an hour in atlantic city, still an ocean wind. that means more significant coastal flooding coming at the times of high tide. we will get into where the flooding is going to be the worst and when and when all this is getting out of here in a few minutes. to the jersey shore where the nor'easter has left parts of some towns under water. as glen told us, there is another high tide to go. >> brandon hudson is live tonight. what's the situation where you are? >> reporter: we have some heavy winds and some flooding. we are on jfk boulevard. i want to you look up. you can see how strong the winds are by the moving of the traffic signs and traffic lights. i want to you look on the ground now. you can see flooding, about a couple hours ago you could see the bottom of the street. but the waters appear to be receding. for every street that looks

like, you can walk over on other side, the street is virtually dry. >> that was a wall. >> reporter: this family showed us property damage behind their home. >> it's right there. >> reporter: the wind knocked down a fence, damaged their hot tub and blew away a screen door. >> guess we're going to home depot. >> reporter: we visited shortly after 6:00. their home is along a canal. john says the city warned them about the threat from today's nor'easter. >> they called three times, move your car, pull everything in. the fact that they called us three times, people are paying attention. >> reporter: on jfk boulevard, we saw most of the flooding, from the marina parking lot to this intersection where aybar a bar is. >> it wasn't too bad. >> reporter: this motel on route 322 wasn't so lucky. water crept in the doorway.

a tow truck operator saved a driver from the flooding. firefighters are on standby ready to he's their five ton military truck just in case. >> particularly we wait until the tide goes down. we just stay on call just in case. >> reporter: coming back live. you are looking at jfk boulevard. some of the flooding over here, the waters appear to be receding over in this area. everyone we talked to today talked about this storm hitting around a year since that last year nor'easter. i talked to glen hurricane schwartz. he told me last year's nor'easter had higher wind gusts and major flooding compared to the moderate flooding we see out here. i'm brandon hudson, nbc 10 news. from the flooding to downed trees. a scary scene tonight. this tree stopped its car in its tracks. police say the passengers were taken to the hospital.

they are expected to be okay. to philadelphia now where a man died after the wind blew a sign from a building and pinned him underneath. >> that's not the only damage the storm caused. den ease nagano is in south philadelphia. >> reporter: the tree came down over several cars. it brought down a power line that was restored an hour ago. the cleanup here just getting under way. cruise worked to repair and replace what wind gusts brought down and damaged. >> i heard a noise. then i came out to see. >> reporter: damage from one neighborhood to the next. >> it was bound to happen. >> reporter: the nor easte'east toppled a tree, blocking a section of road since 4:00 this afternoon. >> it was windier than the hurricaned es a couple years ag. >> reporter: the wind factored

into the death of a man. a company sign fell from the building and pinned him to a car. an autopsy tomorrow will determine exabilictly how he di. in west philadelphia, a homeowner says he urged the city to cut down a rotting tree. the storm took care of it instead. >> our car was parked right there. where the limb fell. we got lucky. >> reporter: the neighbor's car wasn't as lucky. it took the brunt of the damage. this tree belongs to the city. it will be up to the city to clean it up and remove it from the street. the crews out tonight say most of the calls were downed trees and power lines. in south philadelphia, i'm denise nakano, nbc news. a mural was damaged. you can see huge chunks completely torn off. on top of a car below. >> no one was hurt here. murl a they secured the remaining pieces hanging off the building. heavy surf pounded the

delaware beach. officials were forced to close route 1 because of flooding there. a massive tree opened up a home on this house. there is daniel to the roof and second floor. no word if anyone was inside when this happened. the storm left hoboken terminal flooded in north jersey. you can see water on the tracks. new jersey transit says it did not affect train service. the wind certainly did. amtrak and new jersey transit suspended service throughout the garden state because power lines came down. service has since resumed. the nbc 10 app will help you get through the storm. download is for live radar plus severe weather and traffic alerts. it's free. new at 11:00, a wilmington man is dead after he was shot during an encounter with police. it happened around 6:00 tonight at a home on west 13th street in wilmington. police responded to a

disturbance there and encountered a man armed with a gun. one officer eventually shot that man. no one else was hurt. philly police say a pizza delivery driver pulled his own weapon after being shot during a robbery. police say the driver was walking up to a house near 54th and yocum streets when one of two teenage suspects tried to rob him. one teen shot the driver in the arm and the driver shot back. the driver took himself to the hospital. a philadelphia k-9 officer is recovering after an accident in north philadelphia. the officer was heading south on broad street when he collided with another vehicle near oxford street. the officer is expected to be okay. his police dog and other driver weren't hurt in the crash. engineers will need at least two weeks to get a handle on the repairs required to fix the delaware river bridge. you can see one of the bridge's steel supports split in half. officials believe the 14 inch

truss failed recently. the bridge, which connects the pennsylvania and new jersey turnpikes remains closed indefinitely. president donald trump used his first meeting with congressional leaders at the white house tonight to gripe about a loss. multiple sources confirm the president told lawmakers he lost the popular vote to hillary clinton because three to five million illegal immigrants voted in the election. it's a claim the president has made before and has been widely debunked. earlier today, president trump signed three executive orders focusing on government hiring, abortion and trade. the president withdrew the united states from the 12 nation transpacific partnership or tpp. he reinstated a ban on using american money to fund abortions in other countries. he imposed a freeze on non-military government hiring. new at 11:00, congressman mike pompeo was sworn in as the next director of the cia.

he was confirmed late tonight. he will lead the cia at a time when the intelligence community has been thrust right into the political arena. honesty and honest mistakes took center stage at today's white house press briefing. the white house press secretary stood his ground on his comment that friday's inauguration crowd was the largest ever. sean spicer made the comment saturday saying photographs were framed to make the crowds appear smaller. he also gave inaccurate information about the number of riders who used the d.c. metro friday. >> i think sometimes we can disagree with the facts there are certain things that we may not fully understand when we come out. our intention is never to lie to you. >> spicer once again said friday was the most watched inauguration, meaning on tv and the web, not just in person. former president george h.w. bush is still recovering from pneumonia. but he is out of the intensive

glen is back now to let us know if this threat is over yet. >> absolutely not. we may not be seeing the gusts as strong as what we saw today. but we're going to see more of that coastal flooding. it's going to be significant. we have more rain, plenty of it here. we cut north side with the rain, south side dry. it's not necessarily going to stay that way all night and all day. long beach island and through ocean county and mercer county getting hammered right now. the other thing that's happening is that we're trying to see this changeover to some sleet in parts of the lehigh valley and northern berks county. that's something we will watch tonight. the temperatures will stay above freezing. it will melt on the road. it could get on to some of the trees here. you can see we are getting close to allen town town on the radar. sleet is a possibility. here is more moisture from the south. that is going to be coming into our area during the morning

tomorrow. you are going to need the rain gear. this area could be seeing some sleet. those are frozen rain drops that bounce when they hit the ground. there we are for the morning rush. there's still moisture around. much less in delaware. once in a while, you can see perhaps a few snowflakes in parts of the area. more moisture still spinning right back. it's going to be a cloudy, damp, windy, cold day. we're not going to get out of this until tomorrow night. these are wind gusts today. 63 miles an hour, cape may, new jersey. ocean city, new jersey, at 61 miles an hour. during the afternoon, 40 to 50 myles an hour at the coast, 39 in philly. it's going to be windy day. we are not going to gust to 63. it feels like it's in the 20s. it's going to feel like winter as well.

plus the rain on top of that. the biggest problem is going to be this coastal flooding. we had some this afternoon. similar category, moderate. tomorrow morning, the ocean high tide at 5:00. the bay, two hours more than that in delaware. cape may, moderate flooding at the coast. high tide is 5:23. back bay is a couple hours later. during the morning rush, right? at least part of it. moderate flooding in atlantic city. a little before 5:00 a.m. add a couple hours for the back bays. that's around 7:00 a.m. rush hour. now you see the weather tomorrow. it's kind of nasty. high temperatures, barely getting above 40 degrees. we got wind gusts to 40 miles an hour, 20 to 30 mile an hour sustained winds. but we are going to be seeing improvement. look what happens wednesday. sunshine, 57. thursday, up near 50 degrees.
