end of the morning rush. 9:00, berks county, lehigh valley, the rain gets a little heavier, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 in the morning. it's going to be wet. it's also going to be pretty mild. temperatures well into the 40s. you can see rain in philadelphia by 9:00 a.m. some of the suburbs getting early as 5:00 a.m. the temperature is above freezing everywhere. it's just rain. not anything frozen. different story as we head through the week. got snow in there. we'll tell you when and where coming up. more trouble on the tracks for septa as the transit authority pulls more than half of the cars off the market. line. they showed us pictures of cracks in two subway cars. that prompted an inspection of all the cars on the market frankfort line. only 108 of the 218 cars will be in service. shuttle buses will be available to help ease delays.

right now septa has no timetable for when all the cars will be back on track. kobe bryant is stepping in after someone stole memorabilia from the high school he starred as a teenager. the trophy case is empty at lower marion high school. someone boek broke into the lobby and stole his replica jersey, several pairs of autographed sneakers and the championship trophy. bryant has offered to help replace the stolen items. lower marian police are investigating reports of sticks of dynamite found at a home this afternoon. they temporarily shut down areas to remove the explosives safely. a showdown on capitol hill. >> president trump's pick for education secretary. a live look at the senate floor where democrats, that's new

his alleged victims could go back as many as 40 years. the township native worked as a handyman at several -- they have identified six victims but more children could have been assaulted. in delaware, today we learned that a man kicked in the face by a dover police officer received a $300,000 settlement. i'm going to show you video of that incident in 2013. it left him with a broken jaw. his settlement was reached back in 2015. details were just released today. the city kept that confidential until the attorney general's office ruled it was illegal. thomas webster, the officer who kicked dickerson was acquitted on felony assault charges. the search for answers continues into what caused the prison standoff in smyrna, delaware that left a correction's officer dead. carney is still waiting for answers from both state police

similar ordinances have been adopted in bucks county. a full house tonight at the french theater in center city for a screening of the sir ruth. it's the creation of the new arena sorry called toru k. you can catch it next month. turning to our weather now. >> nbc 10 philadelphia shows a nighttime game of basketball. the guys working up a sweat. ditching the coats. >> he's wearing a few more layers outside of trader joe's. let's get our neighborhood weather with first alert chief meteorologist from glenn "hurricane" schwartz. he has the accuweather forecast. >> it's going to get a little wetter. i-95 right now. by morning, that road may be a little wet. wet, but not icy. we do have some temperatures in the lehigh valley that are close to the freezing mark.

as you can see, most of them are well up in the 30s. some of them close to 40 degrees. easton at 31. going up from 44 yesterday, 54 today. 63 tomorrow. probably a record on wednesday before we take the plunge. really going to take a plunge. here goes the radar as we come through at len clok. we're starting to see some of that rain get a little closer. nothing too heavy yet. don't necessarily expect much until the end of the morning rush as you can see. especially in western portions of the area and north of philadelphia. that's just around 1:00 with the rain. there's going to be another round coming in wednesday night after the record warmth that we may get. watch what happens here. this comes in. it's warm, of course. starts as rain but changes to snow.

colder air comes in and by the middle of the night, much of the area is covered in snow. that blue is the snow, the darker the blue, the heavier the snow. by the morning rush, it may be snow down to atlantic city and dover. it's a pretty wide area there and covering much of the morning hours. so here's what i'm expecting right now. generally wet roads from southern delaware through extreme south jersey. even with the snow. mainly wet, little farther to the north. and we could see briefly slippery conditions, even across the philadelphia area. even if temperatures stay above freezing, we could see still see slippery roads. it could come down hard for a brief period of time. the highest impact because of more snow and colder temperatures, that comes in the upper portion of montgomery and bucks county. the lehigh valley and berks county. that, again, is for the thursday
