right now powerful snowstorm moving out of the area. a live look at your conditions throughout our region right now. >> and here's live look at the kimmel center campus camera in center city, philadelphia. all philadelphia courts are closed today, but all city offices are still open. let's give you a live look at philadelphia international airport. we spoke to an airport official this morning that said some flights are getting out and some are arriving this morning. >> to south jersey now.

a live look from pemberton, burlington county, where you can still see the flakes coming down there. now let's show you the road conditions from storm force 10. storm force 10 and tim furlong are on 95 south in delaware. look at the sunshine. we told you it was going to be fast moving just as predicted by our meteorologists. the trolley seems to be getting through the snow pretty well. >> the snow came down at a pretty good clip making it tough to see at times. business owners didn't waste time shoveling though. >> this guy, he didn't have too much trouble shoveling, although it was wet and heavy. this was a shopping center in drexel hill a short time ago. >> hopefully he doesn't hit that car right there. snowplows got to work this morning clearing out the parking

lot in mount holly shopping center. >> customers who braved the snow. it was cold, wet, slushy snow. >> the radar showing the heaviest storm pushing out. good morning, i'm vai sikahema. >> i'm tracy davidson. we have you covered this morning tracking the latest conditions where you live because they're different. >> our live coverage begins with bill henley, krystal cline, erika martin. >> it is moving out. that is wet and heavy snow that needs to be shovelled, but it is going to be frozen solid as the day moves on. the snow has ended in wilmington. ocean city a little bit of snow in parts of the area. not on the beach. boardwalk has a little bit. you can see it's on the grass, but it is starting to disappear there. drier air is working in.

no sunshine yet in ocean city, but later in the day that is a possibility as this snow is on the move. it is pushing to the east. has already come to an end. in delaware it is drying out as well and south jersey, while it has ended for cape may and cape may courthouse, corbin city and atlantic city, there's still some light snow falling in toms river and ship bottom. the snow will be ending shortly. same for trenton. this is much lighter snow than what we saw earlier in the day, but we're going to get stronger winds as the day goes on and this is why it is going to be freezing solid. that's cold air that's dumping into the area and is going to make it feel even colder as the day goes on. it's the next phase of this storm system. first we got the snow. now we're going to get the cold. krystal cline takes a closer

look at what you can expect neighborhood by neighborhood. >> here's a look at our temperatures right now. 28 in allentown, pottstown. northeast philly at 32. millville at 32 degrees and wildwood the same. that's where we saw that turn over to snow just briefly in parts of jersey, but these temperatures will not be warming up as we go through the afternoon. even though some of us are seeing sunshine, doesn't matter. the snow is on the ground. the cold air is in place. the winds are coming right from the north at 20 to 25 miles per hour. closer to 40 at dover air force base. here's are the feels like temperatures. 3:30 in the afternoon we're at 18. you also have the snow on the ground, so that makes it feel even cooler. 21 in lynnwood. we go into this evening. it only gets worse.

5 degrees for allentown. 9 for philly. voorhees sitting at 9 degrees as well. even into your friday morning. there we are at 8:00 a.m. it will be a very cold one. on top of that the problem is, as we've been mentioning, anything that you don't shovel, move out of walkways, driveways, is going to ice overnight. we'll talk more about those temperatures dipping tonight and when we see a nice pick up in those temperatures coming up in a few minutes. >> we launched sky force 10 because the sky has cleared. live over cherry hill mall right now. cherry hill mall is open today. plenty of spaces if you are home from school. >> a number of plows there in the parking lot taking care of the snow that's on the ground there, but not much of it. >> let's get you updated on

septa and the situation. heather, obviously delays and detours this morning. getting back to normal now? >> we are getting back to normal. we had our route 35 bus this morning suspended for quite sometime, but that's back. we've been able to cut back the number of weather related detours. we've been moving pretty well throughout the morning. >> any issues that you anticipate going into the afternoon rush? >> the afternoon could be challenging, especially in the northern part of the area. there's concerns on regional rail if there's high winds. there's a lot of heavy snow and trees near the overhead wires for regional rail lines, but we have our crews out and they're going to be ready in case there are issues. best thing to do is keep watching our website. >> thank you, heather. >> you're welcome. >> our team coverage continues now in the lehigh valley. >> randy gyllenhaal is live for

us in allentown. >> reporter: we're on eighth street in downtown allentown. the storm has now moved out of the lehigh valley. it came in early this morning. really heavy snow around 5:00 making those early morning drives pretty different, but the snow has mostly cleared out of the roads. the plows doing a pretty good job of handling the streets. people went to bed last night after a very warm day and they woke up with 6 inches on the ground. bright sun. 60 degrees. felt like spring. 12 hours later very same spot a very different scene. temperatures plummeting. the snow is now blowing around. this is the first major snowstorm of the season in allentown and the cleanup is well under way. >> heavy snow. we got about 6 inches.

>> not easy to shovel around. >> it's heavy. really heavy. >> reporter: road crews tell us the side streets are going to be the problem going forward. they're asking for patience, especially on some of the smaller neighborhoods in downtown allentown. we're live in the lehigh valley. nbc 10 news. >> we have a team of reporters and photographs spread out across the area to show you what conditions look like. >> nbc 10 south jersey reporter cydney long is live for us. now it looks like it has stopped. >> reporter: that's right. we talked last time about whoo a difference a day makes from our spring fever yesterday to the winter woes this morning. what a difference an hour makes. the winds have picked up right now. the snow has all but stopped falling. it left about an inch. maybe a little bit better, an inch and a half, on the grassy surfaces here and on the

sidewalk. route 70 and 73, the roads are passable. the traffic is moving. much less volume because school was cancelled today. they're happy to see us. other than a little bit of slush on the side of the road on the shoulder here, guys. it's definitely a big change from an hour ago when it was uncomfortable and blustery to stand outside. the visibility was also limited. for plow crews and gas attendants clearing the sidewalks. county offices are open and their department of public works crews, who spent the overnight hours salting, they will now move into a plowing operation, but they'll move back to that salting operation as they have 50 trucks on the move and about 508 miles of roadway to make sure are clear and safe. police are thankful that people have heeded the warnings. they say they have not responded

to one accident here locally in the marlton area. state police have also been on the move as the snow has stopped falling. they have responded to about 145 accidents and as many motor vehicle aids of people needing help stranded on the side of the road. i'm cydney long, nbc 10 news. >> here's a live look right now at 30, the street station. some regional rail lines are experiencing delays this morning. we spoke to septa a few moments a ago. no delays on septa. allow extra time if you happen to be riding the rails. >> allow extra time if you have to go out. spinouts on slippery roads keeping tow trucks and police busy. >> this is a mercedes that had to be pulled back on the road by a tow truck after getting stuck

in the mud there. wasn't so easy to pull that car back. >> as we've been saying all morning, the conditions are different depending on where you live. pavement that is just wet. other places snow covered and icy, especially where it is cold. >> that was a common theme of what we've seen a lot today. a lot of disabled vehicles. 78 in lehigh valley looks okay. this was one of the first places we started to see some snow falling on it this morning, but you can see the roads pretty much look for the most part clear. definitely still some slippery spots there. they're definitely easier to drive. there's a crash out on horsham. also on route 73 northbound just around norcross road.

moved out of the area. >> coming up at noon, philadelphia mayor jim kenny will update us on how the city is dealing with the snow. but back now to sellersville, bucks county. at least 4.5 inches of snow has fallen there. matt delucia is live. >> the sun has come out, which is good news, and that is starting to melt some of that snow that is here on the roadway here. we're having some audio issues here in our vehicle, so you might hear a bit of an echo. we also have salt trucks that have been out there as well. a lot of the folks we've been talking with on the side streets at their homes, businesses, they've been out there with their shovels and also their plows and snow blowers. some people getting very creative attaching things to their vehicles just to get their

one of our best photographers walking backwards and doing it so well. the streets were a little covered with some snow earlier today, but now most of that has been pushed off to the corners. what a difference a day makes or a few hours. this morning at 4:00 it was raining outside. by 5:30, the snow was coming down. my car was completely covered with snow. folks are starting to come out on the streets here. west chester is coming alive. let's see if we have some sound for you. no sound. we'll bring them back to you a little later on. check out this couple over here. they're walking arm and arm. the good news is we're expecting a nice weekend and i think the

weather team is telling us we should see some showers and warmer temperatures come sunday. back to you guys in the studio. >> my only disappointment in your live shot is you didn't hug somebody. when i see you, i expect you to hug somebody. go find somebody to hug. >> i've got the arms. >> let's take you to center city. >> lauren mayk is live there. you have some new information from the city's office of emergency management. fill us in. >> reporter: wet and windy is what it has been like here. we are getting quite a bit of wind here and it is cold as well. it is a biting wind. i did speak just now to the office of emergency management and they tell me they are keeping an eye on this wind and they are also keeping an eye on these wet conditions on the roads. they tell me that their streets department is spending more time really salting and preparing for the possible freeze of some of this wet weather than they are responding to accidents, which

is a good news. it is both proactive and also good news they haven't had a lot of major accidents. want to show you one other thing they were concerned about and that is the snow that is accumulating or has accumulated on some tree limbs like you see over there. it is very heavy and wet snow. they're also concerned about any of that snow as the wind picks up this afternoon. we're expecting to see that. that will fall onto any power lines and cause more problems. we'll be keeping an eye on all of that. i'm lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. you can count on it freezing. the temperatures are coming down. even though we're getting some sunshine, you saw some nice sunshine for lauren mayk, take a look at this blue sky over the city. what a turnaround from the snow that was falling this morning. and at times we could not see

across the delaware from the adventure aquarium. those are those strong gusty winds that are getting close to 40 miles an hour. the sunshine, you'll see some, but don't expect it to be there all day. some clouds are blowing back in from the west. the sun breaking through in the suburbs. especially in delaware this morning into salem county and cumberland county, new jersey, a lot of sunshine. as expected, the system is a fast mover. just moving past trenton right now. ocean county in new jersey still seeing some snow. then we'll be drying out this afternoon, but we'll not be warming up.

in spite of sunshine, look at the winds. closer to 40 miles an hour in trenton. look at wilmington. 43 mile an hour wind gusts. that's the cold air dumping into the area. you can see how quickly things can warm up this time of year with the sunshine we had yesterday and temperatures in the 60s and 70s. not with winds like these. the winds extend to the shore, so we're seeing temperatures below freezing. with those gusty winds, it feels like it is in the teens this afternoon in wildwood. 15 in pottstown and allentown. you have to bundle up. wildwood feels like 21 degrees right now. here's your neighborhood planner. 31 degrees. that's without the wind blowing. it will be below freezing in philadelphia. we'll see puddles in center city

freeze up. the temperatures dropping into the low 20s. that's by 10:00 tonight. we'll be in the teens tomorrow morning. breaks of sunshine. the cold air takes over and dumps into the area into tonight. lehigh valley will be in the teens by 10:00 tonight. 32 degrees at 2:00 in delaware. 20s are set for this evening. down to the middle 20s for 10:00 this evening. the last snow will be ending shortly in new jersey with clouds thinning out. that's what's going to allow the temperatures to really plummet for new jersey. unless you do a little shoveling or somebody does it for you what's on the ground will stay on the ground. for a look at the latest total, erika martin joins us live. >> reporter: you've been talking about how the temperatures are going to drop. i want to show in addition to those snow totals about how

quickly this is freezing over. this is really hard. all of this is becoming icy right now. this is going to be a bigger issue as you're driving and walking. keep that in mind. i want to talk about the snowfall totals as well. 7 inches for some, especially in the lehigh valley. there you see the back end of that system. i want to show you what we have. center valley, 7 inches for you. delaware county, including wayne, 4 inches for you. chaz fort at 3.5 inches. martins creek just under 5 inches. conditions right now are drying out, but we have that snow to deal with and that ice later tonight and early in the morning. >> it's left a lot of snow on the ground there for people, kids, who did not go to school

we continue our nbc 10 live team coverage of the winter storm. this was the scene in philadelphia's andorra neighborhood as people waited for the bus along ridge avenue. snow covered the grass and sidewalks. traffic is moving through without much trouble.

a live look from pemberton. now we're dealing with the winds. >> now let's head to the lehigh valley. here's a live look from allentown. the snow has obviously stopped, but there's lots on the ground. >> now a live look at i-95 in south philadelphia. roads just wet, but still could be slippery on those overpasses. take it easy. >> we continue to follow the winter storm moving through our area with reporters and photographers tracking the latest conditions right where you live. >> we continue our coverage with bill henley, krystal cline, erika martin. >> you can clearly see the snow has ended in the city, but you can also see what's on the ground from this view. the snow was greater on the grass than the roads.

there wasn't a lot in the city. we saw the warm air from yesterday. it gets held in by the ground. the snow was coming down, but accumulation mainly the grass in the city. that's how it was in ocean city. this is already disappearing with some breaks of sunshine. temperatures that are just above freezing. if it doesn't disappear during the day today, it's going to be frozen solid tonight. and the last little bit of snow just about done completely in new jersey. still some light snow in toms river, but the snow, once it's done, it's going to be frozen in place thanks to the cold winds that are blowing. the wind is at 31 miles an hour in philadelphia, and that's about the same temperature as well. the temperatures will be coming down as that wind stays with us right on through the day. breaking it down neighborhood by neighborhood, krystal cline. >> what a difference a day makes. now we're tracking temperatures in the 30s.

look at the live cameras. what a difference just a few hours makes. our philadelphia cam right now actually can see some blue sunny sky. 31 degrees the temperature though. it feels colder than it truly is. it feels like the low 20s and teens in areas. in the suburbs we're at 30 degrees. that's the same for new jersey where we're seeing again those clouds start to move out. look at delaware. all that blue sky and sunshine. we told you the sun would be peeking out. 31 degrees the temperature right now. the winds up to 32 miles per hour. here are the future wind gusts as we go through the rest of our day. they'll pick up through the afternoon in some areas. gusts around 40 miles an hour. then we go into the night. same deal. the winds start to weaken, but not enough. overnight 3:00 a.m. gusts are still at 25 to 30 miles per

hour. temperatures are going to drop in some areas, especially north of philly, to single digits. even into tomorrow morning with these gusts around 25 miles per hour, it will feel like we are anywhere from 5 to 15 degrees. lows are expected in the upper teens for areas like philadelphia. here's a look at the ten-day on 10. today this afternoon right around 30 is where we stay. the snow is out. 17 the temperature tomorrow morning. 31 only in the afternoon, which is why we're seeing anything right now that is starting to melt or get slushy is going to ice through tonight. saturday is at 46. we're 50 on sunday. valentine's day, 47 degrees. >> thanks for that. look at this. this is what a lot of people were doing this morning. only took a brush to clear off the snow on this car in

montgomery county. >> look at how much snow was in that part of the county. viewers are sending us video of what snow looks like in their neighborhood. this was earlier this morning. you can see the snow covering the trees, the grass, the garbage cans. >> even if you want to curl up inside, because we've heard from so many people, if you have a pet, you've got to get out and take the pet out. >> this guy is all bundled up taking his dog out. his dog in one of those dog sweaters. >> our team coverage continues now in the lehigh valley. >> randy gyllenhaal is in allentown. tell us how things look there now. >> reporter: maybe 6 inches of snow falling on the ground. the heaviest around 5:00 a.m. it's obviously left now. the cleanup is beginning. we have these guys cleaning off

the car. the roads are mostly fine in these neighborhoods. works crews are telling us they have gotten to those major streets. the real problem going forward is those side streets, especially those really tight neighborhoods. we're catching up with people who woke up to 6 inches of snow just one day after it was sunny and 60 degrees. >> driving in at 5:00 this morning was really bad. road us were really bad. >> put a lot of salt down and it's pretty good. >> reporter: the sun is back out now. the snow is actually starting to melt in some places. the concern going forward is as those temperatures drop again going into the night we could get some refreezing. those public works crews will be working throughout the day. but if you live in some of those smaller neighborhoods, might take until later today to get your street perfectly clean.

>> notice the guy behind you there who is scraping snow and ice off his windshield. we passed out ice scrapers to people earlier today. >> they were all wet and covered in snow. just when everybody needed you guys. the roads look great. this is actually a good thing. the vine street expressway around 24th street, the roads look dry. there's a crash out in plymouth on richardson street right around chestnut street. here's berlin, new jersey. there's a closure on route 73. detoured around cedar brook road because of an earlier crash. snow over into the shoulders and onto the side. of course into the grassy areas into the center. just a few cars really

up. hopefully that'll get clear. there they are. looks like they have closed the road off as well. our team coverage now takes us to montgomery county. >> deanna durante is live. >> reporter: good morning, guys. i can tell you conditions have gotten a little bit better since last time we were here. take a look at the road. you can see there's not a lot of snow out here on the road, and it has gotten a little colder and the wind has certainly picked up. both good and bad news. the winds will help dry off the rest of the moisture that's on the roads. however with the wind blowing more snow on the roads, that does create a problem. if you're going to be kicking your stuff out into the street, which is a big no-no, keep it clear of the drains because you can see all this water building up, which is just going to ice up tonight. here in east norton we have talked to a number of people stopping in for gas, filling up

gas cans for their snow blowers. here's one man's story. how much gas does that hold? >> five gallons. >> you had so much snow that you ran out of gas? >> no, i brought a brand-new snow blower and it did not have gas in it at all. my wife asked me to be sure it has gas in it. it didn't have any gas, so here i am. >> reporter: he had to drive through the snow in the driveway to come out here to get the gas to go back home in order to use his snow blower to get the snow out of the driveway. he was hoping that maybe the sun would warm it up a little bit. he brought the brand-new snow blower and he was going to use it. deanna durante, back to you. >> his wife told him to get some gas ofor the snow blower. police have been towing cars

we continue to follow the morning's winter storm has it moves offshore. look at those skies. >> there's a live look now at the jersey shore. for much of the morning, it was just snowing in cape may, and we did see it snow there for a short time, but it looks like it has cleared up. here's a live look at camelback mountain in the poconos. getting some fresh powder.

our team coverage now takes us to montgomery county. >> matt delucia is in blue bell. matt, how are the conditions there? >> reporter: it is improving quite a bit. i will say that, vai and tracy. we're almost at plymouth meeting. we're in blue bell right now. we're seeing a lot more cars out on the roads. right now it's just wet, so the sun is out. you see the gorgeous clouds up in the sky. the sun has come out, and so we have definitely seen vast improvement of the conditions. and because of that sun, it is starting to melt some of that snow that was on the roadways. i've been talking with people around this area. we were just in bucks county not along ago. folks who were very busy shoveling their driveways and sidewalks, take a listen to how some people have been spending their morning. >> they're the best. the whole neighborhood gets

together and plays. it's awesome. >> reporter: seems like there's a lot of people on the street. >> oh, yeah. everybody helps each other out. >> reporter: everyone is having a good time out there. the folks that have off from work or school, they are definitely enjoying this day off, but of course you have those folks who are very busy of course working. we saw some utility workers who were out just making sure the power lines, the utility lines, were cleared off. again, you're looking here another 476. we're approaching plymouth meeting right now. you can see around the turnpike area does not look bad. penndot has been making sure the roads are clear. roads not looking too bad as you head out the door now. nbc 10 news. guys, back to you. here's a live look now from south jersey. this is the scene in marlton, burlington county. our crews there tell us the snow has stopped and it's even a little sunny there now. cydney long was there a few moments ago.

you see the wind whipping through there. this is awhile ago. >> it was really coming down. plows trying to keep up with the snow and workers. they were salting sidewalks there. if you were forced to walk through it, you had to keep your head down. we were out in it. it was whipping sideways on our faces. >> this time of year it's not unusual to get quick-moving storms, but what is rare is to see them so intense move through the area. we're getting nice breaks of sunshine. look at the winds blowing at penn's landing. not much snow there. did accumulate some mainly on the grass. we've seen some nice breaks of blue, but it's not going to be clearing out completely. these clouds are on the move and

there'll be more clouds blowing back into the area. you can see breaks of sunshine, especially in the suburbs and into delaware. but there's still some snow falling. just not a whole lot. it's quickly moving out of burlington county. now it's northern ocean county getting some snow. the last snow is in trenton. you'll see some breaks of sunshine as the day goes on. the temperatures, well, they're just below freezing in philadelphia. look at the temperatures for south jersey and the shore. the temperatures are just below freezing. temperatures of 31 degrees can create melting conditions, but the temperatures are going to peak in the low 30s. that's happening early this afternoon. the colder air from the north will continue dumping in. west bradford township, euclid

township, all in the 20s right now. new hope and newtown at 28 degrees. it's a little bit colder for milford township as well. all day it is going to feel colder thanks to those gusty winds. the windchills are in the middle teens for allentown. it feels like 17 degrees in dover. even at the shore it feels like it is in the teens and low 20s. that wind will be strong and that's going to bring in colder air. so the ten-day on 10 shows 30s for this morning. they drop into the low 30s this afternoon. and then it's teens by tomorrow morning. we will get sunshine on friday and some clouds building over the weekend. saturday is the day it is going to be drier. a bit warmer too after a cold morning. 46 degrees on saturday. up to 50 degrees on sunday. there's a chance we'll see some showers late in the day on sunday and milder for monday.

sunshine up to 47 degrees and wet weather holds off for wednesday and thursday. the temperatures will be above freezing for much of wednesday and thursday. sunny skies and temperatures back to normal for february. erika martin joins us live. >> reporter: we're tracking how much everybody has gotten. as you mentioned, we're on the back end of that storm. that storm is well out to see. locally here, we're going to show you some of the local snowfall totals so far. burlington, 3.5 inches for you. mount laurel just under 4 inches. pennington, 4.5 inches for you along with maple glen. salisbury township, just under 8 inches. center valley, 7 inches of snow for you. now we have to contend with the slushy puddles and all of that
