>> right now at six, jerry sandusky sun arrested for child abuse. five years after the former penn state assistant coach was locked up, one of his adopted sons is now accused of victimizing two children. the nbc10 investigators uncovered new details about the allegations tonight. >> good evening i'm jacqueline london. >> and i'm jim rosenfield. jeffrey sandusky is charged with sex assault and child pornography. mitch blacker who's been digging into the court documents. what have you learned? >> former penn state assistant injury sandusky was convicted on 40 accounts, today his adopted son faces 12 counts. according to court records, police began investigating jeffrey sandusky in november. that is when a teenagers father told the pennsylvania state police about sexually explicit text messages that were exchanged between his daughter

and jeffrey sandusky. the court record says he was friends with the girl's mother. he's accused of 12 felonies including sexually assaulting one teen and asking for pornography pictures from her and another girl. jeffrey sandusky he held on $200,000 bail. he will not be able to post that tonight. so far his lawyer has not returned our calls for a comment. reporting for the investigators, nbc10 news. >> to our weather now, damaging winds causing havoc across our region today. skyforce10 over villanova after a tree toppled on this home along mount pleasant road today. the resulting hole was covered up by that tarp you show. the tree ended up landing in a bedroom. no one was in there at the time. and it was a pair of cars that took a direct hit in south jersey. look at this. strong gusts sent this large branch crashing right down in west deptford. no injuries here just a lot of

damage. >> the wind is creating what one man is calling a perfect storm. this is tps it's hard to see anything especially piles of trash blowing around. it all started with last week's snowstorm. >> you have the perfect storm. there's a snowstorm which has cancelled rather than delayed the typical recycling trash pickup day which is our thursday around here. >> some people did not take their trash and recyclables inside leaving it vulnerable to today's strong winds. those winds are slowing down tonight as we take a live look at the flags on top of the aramark building be in center city. glenn, things should be more comfortable when we wake up tomorrow morning? >> we're not going to be seeing anything like the winds that we've seen today, and last night. the flags already being effected by the lack of winds compared to

just a few hours ago, the direction is still the same. these are the current wind gusts and we're not even seeing 30 mile an hour wind gusts now, just a few hours ago we were seeing gusts of 50 miles an hour in many parts of the area, 26 now in philadelphia, 22 in wildwood, 26 in toms river. it's really starting to diminish. the temperature in the 30s, 36 in wilmington, 34 in coatesville, 35 in allentown and with whatever wind is out there, it feels like it's in the 20s, which is nothing too extreme for this time of the year, 16 in the poconos, 27 in philadelphia. as we go through the next few hours, we're going to see that wind continue to diminish as you can see down to 14 miles an hour at 11:00, making it feel like 22. but we have some more windy days

this week. i'll tell you when and just how windy coming up. >> take a look at this. it has nothing to do with weather. a wild ride home for some montgomery county this afternoon. a van burst into flames after colliding with their bus in horsham. it happened around 4 this afternoon along lower state road. the bus is carrying students from our lady of mercy catholic school. they're all fine, but someone in the van was taken to the hospital to be checked out. >> new at six, we'll have to wait a little longer to see if the soda tax is here to stay once and for all in philadelphia. that lawsuit was dismissed but now there's an appeal. the city wants to push the appeal through quicker but today the state supreme court denied that request. the appeal will go on this april. city argues a long and drawnout legal process is delaying the program. a renewed push to get prayer back into city council meeting. a public hearing will take place

about a half hour tonight. councilman guy organized tonight's meeting at the police athletic league in philadelphia. >> dupont has reached a $900 million deal to settles thousands of cancer lawsuits tonight. they will split the bill with dupont used to own about 3,500 lawsuits have been filed blaming cancer cases on dupont's production of teflon in west virginia. >> now the hunt for a thieves that stole credit card victims. they're accused of swiping $17,000 in less than an hour. it all happened in the middle of the night while victims were asleep. >> deanna durante shows you what to look for. >> reporter: take a good look at these guys. there's no attempt to hide and it looks like normal atm withdraws. but police say that changed after a flood of victims came

forward saying they had been ripped off. all on the same night and police would learn it all happened at this atm. >> we don't know if these guys are local. >> we have no idea where they're from because they're certainly taken advantage of folks, it's a lot of money $17,000. i'm sure that's going to continue. >> in less than two hours these man withdrew cash from the accounts of unsuspecting victims. some live in western pennsylvania, some in scranton and some in philadelphia. >> reporter: we know all of them were collecting social security benefits and we know all of them still had their atm cards on them when the money was stolen. this is one of those cases that has police warning you before you enter your pin. make sure there are no loose parts around the slot where you put in your atm card. the key pad should be clear, no tape, no loose bolts, nothing on top of it. police say those skimming devices are getting smaller and

smaller making it harder for you to spot them until you get that statement with the zero balance police can't be sure how they gained private information. they say there's no victim connection to this bank. >> we believe that there's a lot more victims out there, people a lot of times don't check their bank statements that carefully. >> reporter: you are urged to look at these guys again. if you know them, turn them in. >> now take a look at this. new video to show you tonight of a robbery in progress again. watch as the woman here in the red coat appears to be helping another woman at an atm inside a chinese restaurant when that money comes out the woman in the red grabs it. the two struggled then the woman slams the victims head in a door and throws her right to the ground. >> we have new details about a deadly shooting involving police in cumberland county last week. the shooting investigation be turned over to the new jersey attorney general and he wants

the officers name released. prosecutor say dar ril was shot in bridgeton but they have not said why officers was shot or whether he shot at police or anyone else. >> new jersey lawmakers want to keep presidential candidates accountable for what's on their taxes. it would require candidates to release their federal tax returns in order to get on new jersey's ballot. they are responding to president trump not releasing his returns. they hope other states will draft similar legislation. >> the former trump taj mahal is at the center of a battle. investor karl icahn closed the casino. governor chris christie vetoed that bill but new jersey senate is meeting today and override that veto. >> governor christie heads to

washington tomorrow for a lunch meeting with president trump. he was even tapped by the president-elect to lead his transition team but he was ousted from that role. michael flynn in the past hour the white house said president trump is vauevaluating the situation. flynn apologized to vice president mike pence over a controversy involving russian sanctions imposed by the obama administration. flynn talked about those z-angss with the russian ambassador before president trump took office. vice president pence has previously said flynn assured him sanctions were not discussed but since then, flynn told the white house that topic may have been come up. >> new details tonight about hate flyers dropped off in south jersey neighbors after hour report last night. another person is called police saying they found a similar flier in morris town. yesterday people living in

cinnaminson found these letters at first it almost looks like a valentine note with hearts but a closer look here reveals messages asking people to join the kkk. police are asking anyone who finds a more flyers to call them. >> you drive along i-95 into philadelphia the message is meant to shame philadelphia's mayor. this is what it would look like right here. the message says welcome to philadelphia where we don't value our public school children. stoeshl studies children is raising money on the gofundme page. he's blaming the district for failure to negotiating a fair contract. today the school district responded by saying our desire is a contract which fairly kpen sats our teachers but also retains the fiscal stability that's the district has fought so hard for. >> parents in one philadelphia neighborhood are dealing with a new truss trags which it comes to school. a popular school is implemented

those flags blowing out there but they are and the temperature in the 30s generally mid-30s across the area. we got up to 42 degrees today, which is right around average. and with the northwest wind that is a land breeze and that's why the temperatures are uniform. 36 in ocean city, 36 in mullica township and egg harbor township, 36 in north cape may, 37 in denis township, 36 in ventnor. and it all calms down the ocean. the winds blowing the other way at the speed they were blowing today you'd be getting some flooding. the gusts have died down over the last couple of hours if you're watching us at 4:00, gusts over 40 and very, very quickly we're seeing that go down. the big storm is a blizzard really. off the east coast, still hitting maine and cape cod

pretty hard with the snow. some places have gotten up to 30 inches of snow, all we get out of that is some gusty winds and as that storm moves out those winds will be diminishing. in oklahoma and texas and it's forming into a storm and in a typical winter it would come up in our direction and depending on the temperature will be rain or snow and you can see the moisture building up, by wednesday morning, but it still looks like the track is going to be too far south to bring any precipitation into the area and that's why we have a dry forecast for this week. valentine's day included, dry weather and less wind so it won't be as bad a hair day as what we saw today. and you can see the temperatures, it's definitely chilly. you need the winter coats but not quite as cold and certainly nowhere near as windy as what we
