developing now, a jewish cemetery vandalized. nearly 500 gray stones toppled in philadelphia. cleaning up after yesterday's wild weather, we're in burks and lancaster counties where the national weather service is checking to see if a tornado moved through. plus cosby back in court tomorrow. what his lawyers will be asking for that could bring a change to this case. good evening.

tonight sacred ground has been tarnished in philadelphia. jewish leaders here at home and across the country are reacting. investigators are trying to find out who vachb dpalized in cemetery. nearly 200 headstones were vandalized. that same day, nearly a dozen jewish community centers received bomb threats. tonight the jewish community there is reaching out to philadelphia, pledging its support, while here at home police and jewish leaders are trying to fig out what happened. drew smith is at mt. carmel cemetery. >> reporter: this is the damage we're seeing, row after row of headstones intentionally knocked over, some broken in two. police say this happened after dark yesterday and today people came out to try to make some repairs. a man visiting a relative's

grave was the first report this, headstones clearly knock over. detectives then counted more than 100 others. >> this is not just a random act, i mean to topple so many headstones clearly is a concerted effort with intent. >> reporter: since the news broke, localing rabbis rushed her saying prayers and comforting people who have loved ones buried here. >> i'm devastated by this, i don't know where to cry or scream. >> reporter: we're told philadelphia's mayor is also monitoring the situation. now people are working together to right the toppled headstones, vowing to overcome what they view as an act of hate. >> to think about the effort and the hatred that went behind this, it's heart breaking, it just is. >> and there has been an outpouring of support both in person, you can see the people who have gathered here in the cemetery tonight and online

through fund raising efforts which has already begun. we also just learned that a $10,000 reward is now out from the anti-defamation league and they are asking people to come forward with information on who did this. we're live at mt. carmel, drew smith, nbc10 news. josh shapiro retweeted our tweet about the vandalism, saying i pledge full support of ag's office to philly police, intimidation against one seat is a front to all. stay tuned for complete coverage of this story on air and online. well, cleanup continues tonight after yesterday's wild weather ripped off roofs and downed trees and poles, creating a major mess. and today the national weather service was assessing damage to see if tornadoes moved through.

lauren mayk is in lancaster county. >> reporter: in lancaster county, a stretch of farm land interrupted by twisted metal, a silo missing a top, or a roof missing a piece of it. brenda high is making a pile in her yard after scary moments inside her home where she hid with her family as winds whipped through. >> we heard the window crash and we just split and ran as fast as we could. >> reporter: they waited in the bha basement. >> you could hear stuff hitting the house. when we came back up, there was this disbelief, he just hugged and just cried. >> reporter: today the national weather service surveyed this area to see if a tornado is to blame. >> we followed a path of about nine miles of damage. >> for now they believe it's straight-line winds that came through here, potentially reaching 7 5 to 95 miles an hou.

crews work to repair the damage and restore power to customers in the area. back in lancaster county, neighbors are cleaning up and helping each other. from this spot off 897, we can see damage all around us, from this tree that was uprooted to its branches now piled up and that trailer now on its side, well, look beyond the metal that's ending up in that field, and you'll see where it started, this dprooi way. >> about 50 feet and it weighs 10,000 pounds. >> the contractor lorn martin. >> he returned from vacation in florida this morning to see all of? . that tree on its side and crashed into his home and his neighborhood strewn with debris. >> reporter: what do you think when you see all of this? >> it's a mess.

front, but we go have a warmup. that feels like temperature early tomorrow morning, it's going to feel like it's 26 degrees in allentown, 26 in doylestown, 29 in philly. so you be sure you bundle up. and i have your most accurate 10-day forecast coming up in just a bit, thank you. one of the most well known unsolved murders happened 60 years ago in philadelphia. so no one knows who killed the boy in the bongs. a smaum memorial service was held in fox chase today near where a boy's body because found naked, stuffed in a bassinet box in 1957. police believe the child was 4 or 5 years old at the time he was killed, his body bruised and beaten. police never learned his name for found his skiller. two dover police officers were killed in an early morning car crash. the patrolman was with the department for four years.

tomorrow comedian bill cosby will head back to a montgomery county courtroom. the judge will hear a motion to month the case out of the county. defense lawyers say any local potential jurors have seen and heard too much negative press about cosby. the judge could move the case,

. organizers of the philly women's march created an organization to get women more involved in the political process. it's called philly women rally. today they gathered to address postcards to help reach out to their legislators. >> so that people can walk away saying, okay, i can do this, it's baby steps, i can contact my legislators and try to get my voice heard about these issues that are affecting my daily

you go out with shorts or a coat. >> she's really positive. i like that attitude, because it was a lot chillier today. owed we saw 70s today, 40s. major difference behind that cold front. a live look outside philadelphia we're seeing thinner clouds. right now 42 degrees in philadelphia. and westerlies at a miles an hour. we're seeing some moderate breezes right now in coatesville. philadelphia 16 and tom's river, nine-mile-per-hour. so again, it's not a bad situation, because at least we're starting to see the winds shift westerly and then southerly by tomorrow. some warmer air moving in. currently satellite and required image picking up on just some thinning clouds, that's all we have going on right now, and temperatures in and around philadelphia seeing lots of 40s,

but also lots of 30s. port richmond currently at 42 degrees. what about the lehigh valley? chillier up there, close to freezing mark to leonardsville. redding currently at 37 degrees, so notice how much colder it is up there. allentown 36, and walnut port currently at 34 degrees. guys that is to be expected behind a cold front. but the next weather story would be a warm front moving from the southwest to the northeast. so we do have warmer air moving into place, a warmer monday, tuesday and wednesday in the forecast, but i'm also tracking developing clouds and some showers moving in by tuesday, 5:00 a.m., it's not going to be a total washout, but it will be a dry day so keep those umbrellas handy. by 9:00 p.m., still some showers, notice they're not very

organized, but we're tracking more rain to get here by wednesday. overnight lows tonight mainly in the 20s and low 30s, philadelphia a pair of threes for you. coatesville, 23. 27 for allentown, mt. holly. and then vineland, 29 for you, a little bit better in dover, above the freezing mark, we'll take it there. 34 is your expected overnight low. your 10-day on 10 bring us a warmup on monday, tuesday and wednesday. i do have developing fog wednesday into thursday, there is your front, because you'll see we're going from 70 to 50 to 33. we do have some storms in the forecast on wednesday. i'm also going to keep the chance of a wintry mix on friday, because we do get some precip moving in earlier in the day, when temperatures will be hovering right around the freezing mark. we stay in the 40s on saturday, we climb back into the 50s on
