miles. the line of storms causing that damage is now heading our way. it's why we're under a first alert. take a look. we've been cloudy throughout the day. we had fog along the shore earlier. the fog has thinned. the clouds are still in place in cape may, new jersey. very gray, gray skies. light rain falling across the area. most of that has started to thin out. you can see this area of rain is leaving. now what's going to happen next is of big concern. we're beginning to have the clouds start thinning out. you can see the thinning already in central pennsylvania. that's ahead of the line of thunderstorms that's heading our way. the problem is when the clouds thin, the temperatures soar and that warmer air starts to boil the atmosphere. meaning, we have the energy for thunderstorms to develop in the afternoon, so there's the closer look at the rain that's currently in place over parts of berks county into mercer county.
