charges. i'm keith jones. >> and i'm erin coleman. police say this whole thing was caught on a camera that was installed just minutes earlier. >> denise, police call this a horrific act and a betrayal of parent's trust. >> reporter: and a parent's nightmare. this is truly a caught on camera moment. this woman 52-year-old now under arrest. she's accused of shoving a 4-year-old girl down about five steps and then appearing to notice the camera that had just been installed about a half hour before and picking up the little girl's hand walking her down the next bunch of steps without seeming like anything happened. the little girl suffered a knee injury. the woman has been taken into customer did i. she's out on bail tonight but she's facing criminal charges. >> i think it's every parent's nightmare that sends their children to day care.

the second thing is that i would make sure that, if i were sending my child, that it was videoed exactly the way it is here now and that's to protect the children, period. >> reporter: now gableson fired from her job. the child care of the future in delaware county. the day-care center had just installed these cameras about a half hour before the incident happened. they were watching this unfold as it was occurring. now gable's charged with simple assault, harassment and child endangerment. reporting live in upper dash by. >> now to that fire that gutted the popular fitness center in northeast philadelphia today. people stuck inside when that fire started tell us chaos erupted as everyone tried to get out. fire officials are still dousing hot spots tonight. cydney long joins us live from the scene. pretty scary times in there.

>> reporter: very frightening and investigators will work for the next several days to zero in on a cause here but for one woman who was working out in the basement area she feels people could have been trapped, injured or even killed. there are two floors the main level and a basement and downstairs it felt like it was every man for himself. when the fire and smoke alarms started sounding, inside the fitness center at 11:15 this morning. >> i just thought for a second, what should we do? >> reporter: carol hoffman was working out in the basement. >> i don't know if this is real. >> skyforce10 was high above. mike wallace knew the reality. he could see the flames and feel the heat. he took cell phone footage and watched the fire grow in size and alarm. he had seen contractors using a blow torch on the roof. >> they were torching down rubber on there and i guess it slipped up under the roofing.

>> reporter: hoffman climbed the steps to the main level to see if she and others needed to get out. >> by the time i got to the top of the steps i could see people running out in bathing suits. >> reporter: fearing they could become trapped or worse she shouted to a man at the bottom of the steps. >> i screamed to him, turn around and screamed to everybody to get out. >> reporter: on the massive 40,000 square foot center main level marissa brooks and official physical therapy employees also scrambled but say they knew what to do. >> it went off and instinctively we all thought it was a drill but once we realized it wasn't we were very efficient about getting everybody out. >> there was no effort on any part of the personnel to come down those steps and say this is not a drill. get out. everybody was just every man for himself. >> reporter: now i just hung up with the general manager of the fitness center a few minutes ago. he told me there are two exits from that basement area also

escaped routes posted throughout the building, also this facility does conduct quarterly fire drills but he says sometimes members are involved in their workouts, they're wearing their headphones and they are not mandatory so they don't always participate. we're live in northeast philadelphia tonight. i'm cydney long nbc10 news. >> thank you. right now at 6:00, president trump's take two on immigration. the president signed a new executive order meant to keep the nation safer from radical islamic terrorists. this new immigration order is more tailored to pass legal muster than the previous one which caused outrage. first it puts a 90 day travel ban on these six muslim majority nations. the previous ordered included people from iraq but this new order leaves that country off. the new order does not revoke existing visas and it restores visas that were taken away because of president trump's previous order. more than 50,000 refugees will be allowed into the country this

year and the refugee program will be suspended for 120 days. however, there is no blanket ban on refugees from syria as there was with the previous order. the order goes into effect march 16th. that's a week from thursday. tonight nbc10 news's lauren mayk is live at philly international airport with inside to what this order will mean for people. lauren? >> reporter: for some folks in our area these restrictions are not as quite as restrictive as the original one. if you're from one of those effected country, you got a green card or certain type of visa you can travel now and get back here in to the u.s. but opponents are still vowing to fight this and for some people effected by it, they are still nervous. at the university of pennsylvania, this couple have made philadelphia their home but they still miss their families back in their home country of iran. >> it's makes us sad and

depressed. >> reporter: they haven't been back for a year and a half and cancelled a trip because of the president's travel ban that included iran in countries who citizens were restricted. a new order changes the rule. allowing visa holders like them to travel back and forth but it doesn't calm fears. >> even though it says that you could, it still makes you nervous? >> for sure. >> reporter: the original ban caused drama at airports when travellers from the effected countries landed and were sent back. that's not expected to happen this time but the aclu still opposes the new order. >> it's the same thing. repackaged. they've at least made it not apply to people who are in the air but it's still bans people on the basis of the country's they come from rather than on the basis of whether or not they're dangerous. >> reporter: charlie dent is still reviewing the order but does see an improvement from excluding iraq in the ban. >> it was creating bilateral problems between the united

states and iraq. >> reporter: travel is now officially okay but emotionally it might not be easy. >> still worried. >> reporter: now that couple would eventually like to apply for permanent residency but as things go forward here's something else that they are worried about. how this vetting will work in the future and whether iran will cooperate with the department of homeland security. they don't know how that will effect their future. live at philadelphia international airport, i'm lauren mayk, nbc10 news. >> now within the last 30 minutes philadelphia mayor jim kenny released a statement. i am still greatly concerned that this ban appears to be solely motivated by anti-muslim sentiment and not by any evidence that this policy will strengthen our national security, end quote. >> the head of the fbi is now getting involved following president trump's allegations of wiretapping against former

president obama. the fbi director james comey is asking the justice department to publicly reject the claims. on twitter over the weekend, president trump accused mr. obama of quote sinking to a new low and compared the wiretapping to watergate. even calling him a quote, bad or sick guy. but so far there's been no evidence that president trump's phones were bugged. a spokesman for mr. obama says the accusations are simply false. pennsylvania democratic say they won't be paying a ransom to gain back control of their online network. after a cyber attack shut down e-mail and websites in harrisburg on friday morning. a forensic audit by microsoft will help determine how long the attackers were in that system. a spokeswoman for the fbi's office, it will let us know if charges are filed. >> now to our first alert forecast and rain rolling in to the region right now. you can see the system bringing

tracking it for later tonight and potentially for tomorrow morning's rush. then we look towards the end of the week and we're talking about some snow. more on that coming up later. >> a woman caught on camera in atlantic city wielding a knife is accused of stabbing her son's girlfriend. take a look at this video from friday afternoon. you can see the woman who's standing in the door of a store knife in hand. employees quickly went over and locked the door. police say moments later they were able to get her to drop that night after she was taken into custody. they learned the woman stabbed her son's girlfriend. that victim expected to be okay. the mom is charged with assault, possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. >> tonight we are learning that chaka fattah junior will get a brief break from prison tomorrow. the son of former congressman is serving five years for prison in fraud. tomorrow he'll tried to have his fraud charges dismissed on

appeal. the senior is serving a ten year federal sentence, federal prosecutors convicted the former congressman on corruption charges. >> in montgomery county, an uber passenger is accused of strieg to strangle his drier. he was drunk friday night when he started screaming at the driver. he apparently didn't like the route the driver was taking along shady lane in abington township. the driver says he stopped the car when he put the seat belt around his neck. he was later arrested. >> coming up all new at 6:00. a south jersey boy saved his mom's life when he knows exactly what to do with the sign of trouble. >> 911 where's your emergency? >> my mom can't breathe. >> hear his 911 call for hip next. >> also new at 6:00. the pot solution. while some officials are saying

fire. >> new at six for the first time we are hearing the 911 call that has one south jersey community calling a 7-year-old a hero. we were the first to tell you about him on friday when his mother couldn't breathe. he knew exactly what to do. >> i almost cried because i was so nervous and scared. >> reporter: but 7-year-old kept his cool when his mother motioned to him to get her phone and call 911 because she couldn't breathe. >> 911, where's your emergency? >> my mommy can't breathe again. >> rocko stayed on the phone with a dispatcher for nearly nine minutes. >> and your name? >> rocko. >> rocco? how old are you? >> i'm seven. >> is that your mom coughing in the background? >> yeah. he said calmed and answered questions from that dispatcher until first responders made it to their marlton home. >> please, coughing and not

we love hearing about the warm-up starting today. this is what it looked like at 8th and race in center city this afternoon. >> we are tracking rain with that warm-up. that you can see on the first alert radar. this is a wet pattern for tonight and tomorrow. >> we're going to have few hours of rain especially in our pennsylvania counties later on tonight and into tomorrow morning effecting the morning rush. then things change. it's going to be more like winter time by the end of the week. we have cloudy skies, visibility is fine. the temperature is fine, about average for this time of the night at this time of the year. in philadelphia little cooler further to the south closer to those colder bodies of water. it's 50 in lancaster. and same story, the closer we are to philadelphia in new jersey, the warmer it is, the closer we are to the ocean the cooler it is.

voorhees, audubon at 48 degrees. swedesboro at 47, pitman 47 as well. 42 in robbinsvile and in princeton. temperature won't be going down nearly as much tonight as it did last night. we do have the rain getting a little bit closer. it's very patch j and on the light side so we're not expecting very much overnight but you can see there's more of it coming from the west and it'll be around for the morning rush, from philadelphia up to the north and west. that's about it. it's not going to rain most of the day tomorrow. it's going to be cloudy but it's also going to be mild most of the day. and then by tomorrow night we have some rain coming through but that may be in the middle of the night and wednesday could end up being dry. so we have dry weather here for early tonight. later on tonight we're starting to see some of those showers in reading. nothing close to freezing by
