waves again, releasing what it claims are stunning cia secrets for hacking into your phones, your tvs and what are supposed to be secure messaging apps. >> people are wondering, do the bad guys have access to this information? we'll have more on this in a moment. we're going to start with politics. formal debate over the new health care reform bill against underway on capitol hill this morning. it is facing strong opposition, not just from democrats but also a number of republicans, as well. we'll cover all of it. we'll start with nbc's hallie jackson at the white house. good morning. >> good morning to you. today, the president will meet with conservative leaders here to talk about health care with the white house, emphasizing, this is really the start of a process to figure out what's in and what's out of that new bill. on capitol hill, lawmakers today will start making changes. but for the gop, it's far from a united front. >> reporter: this morning, republican rebellion. with the white house working to avoid what might be a mutiny

brewing against a new bill to repeal and replace obamacare. >> we're going to have something that's going to be much more understood and much more popular than people can even imagine. >> reporter: so far, it is not popular with some in his own party. conservatives concerned about different parts of the plan. those on the far right, including outside groups, worried about it costing too much and not going far enough. >> this is, instead, a step in the wrong direction. >> obviously, we have serious concerns. >> we are united on repeal, but we are divided on replacement. >> reporter: more moderate republicans are focusing on saving medicaid expansion. for others, saving planned parenthood funding might end up a sticking point. the administration reassuring everyone, this is still a work in progress. a starting point, as vice president pence explained to nbc's kcasey hunt. >> we're early in the process. >> reporter: the white house is

still facing fallout from president trump's explosive tweet, accusing president obama of ordering the wiretapping of trump tower. >> have you seen evidence of that? >> no, i haven't. >> i have not seen that evidence. >> reporter: the white house still providing no proof of his claim. but press secretary sean spicer pointing to the need for a congressional investigation. >> why would the president want congress to investigate for information he already has? >> i think there is a separation of powers aspect here. as i mentioned to jonathan. >> you talk about resources and time. why waste it? >> it is a question of appropriateness. >> reporter: committee chairman nunez defending the president. >> the president has been doing this a little over a year. i think a lot of the things he says, you guys sometimes take literally. >> congressman nunez is also announcing the first public hearing of his house intelligence committee. former intelligence officials

under president obama have been invited to testimony on march 20th. and so has former acting attorney general sally yates who, if you remember, was fired by president trump not long after he took office. >> hallie jackson, thanks. if the new health care plan is enacted, how would it affect your costs? nbc news chief business correspondent has been looking at the numbers for us and focusing on three groups that could see big changes. ali, good morning. >> good to see you, willie. >> let's start with the first scenario. a 45-year-old woman who perhaps has diabetes. >> diabetes, 9.3% of the population has it. good example. she'll have guaranteed kovrcove. you can't lose coverage if you've already got it. premiums can't go up for a pre-existing condition. but this is how insurance companies get around premiums. more out of pocket expenses. all americans have seen that. and increase in the amount you're going to spend on your health care. so for people who will already

sick, costs likely to go up. >> let's move to the next board. we're looking at the poor medica medicaid. 55-year-old in some financial distress. perhaps relying on medicaid. >> under obamacare, this woman would have had subsidies to pay for health care. on medicaid, you don't have to worry about it. at this point, they can stay on medicaid. they may be eligible for tax credits. however, on january 1st, 2020, the grants from the federal government to the states that have medicaid are going to change. they're going to become block grants, and they're going to be stuck at 2016 levels. the states may slash the benefits you get if you're on medicaid. also for those who are poor but not on medicaid, if you let your coverage lapse because you don't have the money to pay for it, when you go back to get it, you'll pay a 30% penalty on top of the premium. this is to encourage people to keep on buying insurance, even when they think they don't need it. >> the medicaid revision, a sticking point even for republican senators. >> that's right. >> the last group. older americans perhaps on a

budget. >> this is before you get into medicare. let's say you're 60 years old. the credit in exchange for the subsidies under obamacare, the maximum credit you'll get if you're 60 years old is $4,000. you cannot get a proper policy for $4,000. you might be able to get a catastrophic policy, meaning if something very bad happens, you'll be covered. that's a problem for older americans. the premiums are likely to get up. as i said, the only coverage you'll get is the basic coverage. if the worst thing happens. if you're older and want insurance to pay for your normal, ongoing medical care, that's going to be -- you're going to be out of pocket a lot of money. >> young adults up to 26, people with pre-existing conditions, still protected. >> they get to stay on their parents. again, this is initial stages. a lot of this may change. >> always good to talk to you. thank you. >> thank you. now to the story we talked about at the top. the explosive new document dump from wikileaks. it is hitting close to home for millions of americans.

this claims to reveal how the cia hacks phones, televisions and other devices, not in the u.s. but all over the world. peter alexander has the latest. good morning. >> good morning to you. wikileaks released thousands of documents that it claims shows how the cia could crack open devices by apple, samsung, microsoft and google. the documents potentially reveal the agency's secretive hacking techniques to try to penetrate the systems around the world. >> reporter: this morning, growing fallout over the wikileaks document dump, what it claims to be the most sweeping collection of u.s. spying documents ever. >> it is a very, very, serious issue, and congress has got to pay more attention to it. >> reporter: wikileaks posting 9,000 pages of documents that it claims comes from the cia's hacking arsenal. nbc news hasn't authenticated the documents and the cia didn't commenting. among the documents, secret

techniques that show vulnerabilities in tvs and smartphones to spy on their owners. it exposes software tools to break into any iphone and android, and bypass what's app. weeping angel repealing how to pick up on conversations on internet connected samsung tvs when they appear to be cut off. after the company issued a clarificatio clarification, saying the sets do not monitor conversations. but they do collect voice commands. when a user pushes a button to make a search request. many of the nation's top tech companies, including google and microsoft, say they're investigating the documents. the spy tools, experts say, would have been used for foreign surveillance but now could be

used by cyber criminals to target americans. >> when you see something that is billed as internet connected, a car, a home, a light switch, whatever, just remember that that also potentially means hacker connected. >> this is the ultimate swiss army knife of hacker tools. anyone can now take a tool, decide what to attack and they can turn anybody's electronic devices into surveillance devices. >> reporter: wikileaks isn't reveals its source, but it says documents had been circulated among former u.s. government hackers and contractors. claiming one of them passed the documents to wikileaks. the release also puts president trump in an unusual position. after attacking the intelligence community. and during the campaign, praising wikileaks. >> wikileaks, i love wikileaks. >> reporter: the white house declined to comment. >> late tuesday, apple said it had addressed many of the issues described in the documents. it posted a statement that read in part, while our initial analysis indicates that many of the issues leaked today were

patched in the latest operating system, we will continue to work rapidly to address any identified vulnerabilities. what they're doing right now is urging people to make sure that you download the latest operating system to make sure you have the most updated security updates available. >> peter alexander, thank you. an investigation is underway this morning into a deadly crash involving a freight train and charter bus in mississippi. it is not the first time there's been a crash on the same tracks. nbc's gabe gutierrez is there for us. good morning. >> good morning. at least four people were killed. 40 others rushed to the hospital. overnight, crews removed the wreckage from the tracks. this is another train passing through. right now, a team from the national transportation safety board is on its way here to try to find out what went so horribly wrong. >> reporter: this morning, federal investigators will begin the grim task of forcing through the mangled remnants of a

terrifying crash. >> we need an ambulance, headquarters. we're going to need ambulances. >> reporter: a train heading eastbound slammed into this bus in beloxi. dragging it 300 feet down the tracks. >> it is a tragedy. there's no easy way to put this. there's a lot of families that are hurting. >> reporter: authorities say 48 people were on the bus. many of them seniors on their way to a casino in beloxi. >> like something out of a movie. >> reporter: eyewitness craig robinson said the bus had gotten stuck on the tracks and elderly passengers were trying to escape when the train barrelled through. >> the bus driver said they were in a panic, trying to get off the bus when the train hit. they got flung off. >> reporter: every year in the u.s., more than 200 people are killed when a train hits their vehicle. there are 240,000 railway crosses around the country. most don't have gates or stop signs. this one in mississippi did. and the posted warning of low

ground clearance. though in january, a train hit a pepsi delivery truck on the same tracks. the senior center outside of austin, texas, organized the casino trip. melissa's mom is one of the survivors in the hospital. >> joy to my heart. just so thankful. thankful that she's alive and that, for the most part, she got away with just minimal injuries. >> again, local authorities say they've had issues with these tracks before, and it is part of the investigation. last check, eight passengers remain in critical condition. willie and savannah? >> a tragedy. gabe gutierrez, thanks. another round of bomb threats against jewish community centers and schools is under investigati investigation. 14 across ten states on tuesday alone. kerry sanders is in davie, florida, at a school that had to

be placed on lockdown. good morning. >> good morning. there is a heightened vigilance to security here. in the last nine days, there have been two threats taken seriously, seemingly aimed at the 650 students who attend the school here. this morning, police say it appears that the threats here and across the country are targeted, and perhaps coordinated. >> reporter: this morning, the jewish community on edge, demanding protection and answers. yet another wave of bomb threats tuesday, targeting jewish centers and schools across the country. from portland, oregon, to chicago, milwaukee, all the way to upstate new york, where jewish community centers in rochester and syracuse went on lockdown. and here, near ft. lauderdale, parents in panic mode when a bomb threat forced this jewish school to evacuate for two hours. >> i'm upset that the kids are being targeted simply because they're jewish.

>> reporter: for anti-defamation league offices, they also received threats, including the one in new york. >> it is a scary situation. >> reporter: following a meeting with jewish leaders, new york city mayor bill de blasio called the recent rash of threats unprecedented. >> we've never seen a period of concentrated threats against the jewish community. >> reporter: since january, there had been 135 threats directed at jewish facilities, either by phone or e-mail. the alarming number prompting president trump to include the intolerable situation in his recent address to a joint session of congress. >> we may be a nation divided on policies. we are a country that stands united in condemning hate and evil in all of its very ugly forms. >> reporter: lawmakers now calling on the president to take swift action. all 100 u.s. senators signing a letter addressed to the nation's top law enforcement officials. >> we'll continue to condemn them and look at ways in which we can stop them.

>> reporter: so far, the fbi has made just one arrest in the recent outbreak. a st. louis man accused of making only a few of the threats to falsely implicate an ex-girlfriend. this morning, investigators say they're closer to arresting others responsible. hopefully, bringing an end to this wave of fear for a community under attack simply because of their faith. >> somewhat confounding to investigators, the threats by e-mail and phone appear to be cloaked by a computer. investigators still are not sure whether these calls and e-mails are coming from within the united states or from overseas. >> disturbing. kerry sanders, thank you. in new york, the statue of liberty went dark for more than an hour last night. the lights went off before 11:00. though her torch and crown remain lit. many on social media speculated the outage was related to today's a day without a woman strike. officials have said it was due to work being done on an

emergency generator. that is the likely cause. as for that strike, organizers are calling for women to take today off and not to spend money, to show their economic strength and impact on american society. schools may feel the biggest effects. 3/4 of u.s. teachers are women. some schools across the country cancelled classes today. the national strike coincides with international women's day. to the deadly wildfires in the nation's midsection. emergency crews in four states are battling fires that killed six people and destroyed hundreds of square miles of land. officials say the winds that are fanning the flames in kansas, oklahoma, colorado and texas, should diminish today, giving firefighters the break they need. bringing us to mr. roker. >> we're doing good and looking ahead to a last gasp of winter, the way it is shaping up right now. thursday and friday, we have a chance for snow here in the east coast. the wet snow will be friday morning during the morning commute. not a lot but enough to cause

remains a mystery. the active search was suspended in january. officials say they remain hopeful at some point, that plane will be found. the search is on this morning for a brazen group of poachers who broke into a zoo near paris and killed a rare white rhinoceros, all for its horn. kelly cobiella has the latest on the investigation. good morning. >> good morning, savannah. yeah, a real shock and loss for the animal caretakers who knew their animals were at risk. we all know that these rhinoceroses are being targeted and poached at alarming rates in africa. but this is a real first, targeting a zoo in a european capital. >> reporter: the zoo outside paris should have been a safe haven for a rhino. young males vince and bruno were brought here in march of 2015. sometime monday night, poachers broke through a fence and several doors, one of them metal, and killed 4-year-old vince for his horn.

his caretaker, shocked and devastated, found him tuesday morning. he had several bullets in his head. his horn sawed off, cut into sections. the horn can go for tens of thousands of dollars on the market. so valuable, gangs have broken into europe's museums to snap them off displays. at some reserves in africa, horns are sawn off to protect the animals from poachers. >> we are in a crisis. we're losing the animals at an alarming rate. >> reporter: rhino numbers plummeted to 29,000 in the wild today, according to save the rhino. prince william and kate drawing attention to their plight on their royal tour of india last year. conservationists say they're being killed at a rate of three a day in south africa. >> since 2008, poaching crisis has escalated. the demand has grown to the point where any rhino and rhino horns, even antique ones, are a target. >> reporter: for the first time,

you can expect and anticipate bruising. it is not abnormal to do that. she has a regimen for before and after. >> is there anybody who shouldn't do this? >> not really, no. >> really? >> some people with a low pain threshold. >> what about foam rolling? >> interestingly, we do advice before and after exercise. i think it is great to sort of destress the muscles so to speak. people who really believe in the philosophy of facia blasting don't believe in foam rolling. they say it compresses more. rather, you want to get in there and loosen things up. i don't know. i have to tell you, this is another example of one of these segments that we do that i feel like could apply to so many, certainly of my patients, and people at home. everybody with chronic tension and pain and things like that. >> i've got to get one. >> do it yourself. there are certainly therapists who are trained in this kind of therapy. you can ask your provider about them. >> natalie, thank you so much. we're back in a moment.

we're back in a moment. we just moved into this house and didn't realize how difficult it was going to be to tie all that space together. with an open floor plan, you need to separate it with furniture. bassett had everything that we needed. fabric combinations marry the rooms together. having someone with bassett has been invaluable. we could've never dreamed up this room without bassett.
