oklahoma city this morning with more. gabe, good morning to you. >> reporter: savannah, good morning. oklahoma's governor has declared a state of emergency in 22 counties. and now, the strong winds that fueled fires in this state and others are moving east, claiming more lives. the powerful winds wreaking havoc across a large swath of the country. gusts reaching 70 miles per hour in some areas, according to the national weather service. in upstate new york, tearing down trees and power lines. in buffalo, this freight train derailment, knocking 20 cars off of the tracks. in ohio, dangerous driving. multiple tractor-trailers upended. and in southwest detroit, the wind causing this plane carrying the university of michigan men's basketball slide across the runway on an aborted takeoff. the team scrambling out of

emergency exits. no one was hurt. in another part of detroit, the wind fanned a deadly blaze at an apartment building that killed five people. at one point more than 1 million people in michigan had no power. the same storm system fueling wildfire s burning out of contrl in several states. the flames chewing through more than 1 million acres in oklahoma and kansas alone. those wildfires claiming six lives. and authorities in oklahoma hope that improving conditions might help firefighters. but what they really need is more rain. willie? savannah? >> gabe gutierrez, thank you to much. to politics. and the race to find out who was behind the wikileaks document dump that appears to expose u.s. intelligence gathering methods for hacking into phones, tvs and messaging apps. the fbi is launching its own investigation, searching for those responsible. we're covering it all, beginning with nbc's andrea mitchell.

to deliver a late winter snowstorm. the fbi is investigating the latest wikileaks release, along with the cia. both agencies racing to find out who is responsible for one of the worst breaches in u.s. intelligence history. thousands of documents posted by wikileaks allegedly revealed the cia's hacking capability. and on wednesday, women across the country rallied for international women's day. thousands took to the streets to mark a day without women, filling town halls and striking at work during the day-long demonstration in support of women's rights. as we reported earlier this week, casey anthony, the florida mother acquitted of killing her daughter in 2008, is speaking out for the first time since that high-profile trial. we have more of the interview and hearing from the reporter who spent time with anthony and broke the story. craig melvin has more. >> reporter: good morning to you. providing more details into her

devastating loss. >> it must have been an incredibly challenging role to inhabit. and i know you did it right after you did "cafe society." and in that film, you were this full of life character. was it a little whiplash in terms of going from one to the next? >> yeah. absolutely. i had three days between to go from that character to the next. and yeah. there was no way to prepare for that part because she is a newborn. there is no individuality that defines her. she is just sort of shell-shocked. in the midst of an existential crisis. also includes the question of the afterlife and whether or not we are alone at the end of the day. or if there's some connection that we have that you could call spirituality. >> it's a thriller. kind of a ghost story. are you a believer in ghosts yourself? were you into the material? >> the movie is scary.
