high school players on the receiving end. punch after punch. standing ovation tonight. hats off to a philadelphia favorite athlete leaving town. a 25-car pileup tonight. nbc 10 in allentown where police tell us icy conditions are to blame for this chain reaction crash on the hamilton bridge in allentown. at 9:30 there were just a few drivers waiting for a tow truck. no one was hurt. really cold out there tonight. three bursts of snow fell in parts of the valley. bucks county at a shopping center, people rushed to their cars. >> over the bridge in south jersey, a similar scene. one thing is for sure, it definitely felt like winter out there tonight. the ski resorts enjoyed today's snow after a mild

winter. tonight the slopes were crowded as fresh snow fell at camelback mountain. temperatures continue to drop tonight. we won't warm up at all this weekend. >> not much at all. glenn "hurricane" schwartz here with the cold taking hold tonight. gle glenn? >> we still have a few snow showers in the area to help make the areas a little bit wet. as the temperature plunges, more icy spots are possible. you need to check out your driveways and sidewalks in the morning for any kind of ice when you first get out there. because the temperatures just now getting below freezing in philadelphia. it's way below in allentown at 23. so everything is kind of icing over. what was water hours ago. the temperature continuing to drop. toward the teens. the feels-like temperature into the single digits in the morning. and doesn't really rise much during the afternoon.

the building he was standing in. it shook the building. you can see white horse pike, this part right here, in fact open tonight, but you can see some of the sand used to clean up this large accident. for the most part, this wreck shut down part of white horse pike. it injured several people, injured one person who was involved. i want you to check out some video. at least five cars involved in this accident. police and firefighters rescued several people who were trapped. we're told five people went to the hospital. moments after we got here, we spoke to a witness who heard the crash from a nearby business. >> i heard the biggest boom. it was like a grenade launching that went off. and it surprised me. you could feel the tremor for miles. it was crazy. one car sitting on top of another car. >> it's just a sad situation. it's real sad when you come on

to something like this and you don't know if it is going to be your last day. >> reporter: we're trying to figure out who the victims are and their ages, and if weather played a factor in this devastating crash. brandon hudson, nbc 10 news. a philadelphia tow truck driver under arrest accused of using his truck to steal cars and then sell them for scrap. he stole at least half a dozen cars from neighborhoods in north philadelphia, in december and january. investigators say he sold one of the cars for as little as 60 bucks. maro also pleaded guilty to illegal towing and scrapping charges back in 2011. this was not your average hockey fight. take a look. police in hatfield township are investigating exactly what happened during the brawl on the ice. several players from one team went to the e.r. drew smith sat down with that team night in montgomery county.

>> reporter: nbc 10 got ahold of this new video that shows how it started. a referee drops the puck, and almost all the players in green start throwing punches. watch, even out at center ice. a high school player is wailing on his opponent. some in the stands cheered it on. >> it's really sickening. it's like, i don't know what would make a kid do something like that. >> reporter: shawn phillips has broken bones in his face and stitches around his eye. they watched the video together. >> that was the first time in my career when hockey wasn't fun for me. >> reporter: the fight happened in the third period of a tournament quarterfinal. central bucks west was up over ridley 7-1. but there were warning signs with a total of 50 penalties. >> the game was kind of getting heated throughout. >> reporter: brandon went to the e.r. with a concussion. he says he didn't want to face suspension so he kept his hands down and didn't fight back. >> i ended up just taking the brunt of some heavy punches. >> reporter: hatfield police

suicide. a driver hit and killed a pedestrian around 7:30 in the southbound lanes of 130. the driver stayed at the scene. the southbound lanes just reopened in the past 15 minutes. in south jersey, a prison sentence for a man guilty. >> guilty of killing his girlfriend and her father in mount holly. today a judge sentenced dennis pozanyak to 50 years behind bars without a possibility of parole. he beat the victims to death with a pipe wrench in 2015. there could be another addition in south camden on the water. according to our partners at the philadelphia business journal, that move could bring 850 jobs to camden. the companies hope to get the green light at a hearing next week. new jersey's top prosecutor is stepping down. today attorney general jeff

sessions requested 46 u.s. attorneys resign. new jersey's u.s. attorney paul fishman is among those asked. tonight fishman said he's stepping down effective at midnight. it's customary for them to leave office once a new president takes office. a fiery news conference at thes white house today. press secretary sean spicer's flag pin on his lapel was upside down, which is the universal sign for distress. so reporters had some fun with it. >> thank you. i appreciate that. thank you. there's no promo. >> spicer was joking it wasn't a promo for the show "house of cards" which features an upside down flag in its logo. pope francis said he's open to the idea of allowing married men to become priests. the pope said he would consider the idea because of a shortage of priests in some parts of the

season that's coming soon this weekend. it's going to feel like football season, that's for sure. it's 23 in allentown now. 25 in coatesville. 25 in trenton. that's just the temperatures. it's still windy. coatesville feels like 8 right now. allentown, 10. mount pocono, 4 below zero. and we're going to feel like single digits when you get up in the morning. and only get up to the teens during the day. back to single digits tomorrow night. so it's just about as cold as last weekend was. and you know how cold last weekend was. we still have a few snow showers now coming past philly and headed toward the shore. they have complicated things in adding moisture to the roads. and then the temperature falls, and that's how you get these icy spots. you want to be careful in the morning because it's obviously going to be frozen. temperatures this weekend, and

even into monday, very cold. everything is going to be cold, including the roads before this next storm. look how cold in the lehigh valley sunday morning, 13 for the low. even the jersey shore. it's cold on monday. so that sets us up for this next storm. one of the latest models just in. monday night, that snow coming in, looks like it would start as snow. but this particular model has a coastal track, which is changing everything to rain. and that is extremely heavy rain. and thunderstorms for tuesday morning. and then extremely heavy snow to the west. so some parts of our area going to get buried with snow, and others are getting pounded with rain. most likely north and west of philly, all snow. a big accumulation likely, most likely the area to get hit hard. the philadelphia area looks like it will start as snow, change to rain, and then back to snow.

so that will complicate accumulations. and south and east, especially toward the shore, mostly rain. some heavy rain, and coastal flooding, and strong winds out of this. this is a legitimate nor'easter here. and of course, the track of this is going to determine just how much snow we're going to get. but there are tremendous amounts of moisture with this. and it is going to intensify some parts of our area likely to get quite a bit of snow out of this. this, again, monday night, after dinnertime, into tuesday, winds on tuesday, winds on wednesday, and snow showers behind it. wind on thursday as well. you can see unseasonably cold, all the way through next week. even after the storm. >> we'll keep an eye on it. is there a doctor in the house? one passenger chose the right flight to have an emergency. >> plus, the viral video of the
