a lot of icy spots to be found this morning. if it melted a little bit during the day, it has refrozen this morning. 19 in the suburbs. 22 degrees with cloudy skies rights n right now in delaware. no sign of snow right now. chance this afternoon see scattered light snow showers. could see a dusting in some areas. philadelphia, suburbs, new jersey could see snow showers and see the temperatures for most locations stay below freezing. exception delaware up to freezing this afternoon. go through it neighborhood by neighborhood when i come back to show you warmup and when snow showers are likely to pop up. that's when i'm back in ten minutes. first jessica boyington watching first alert traffic. starting off with a problem this morning. route 209 around anymore istown road. assuming we see a bit of this today. vehicle control or camera.

you can see it in the snowy area. single car appears in the camera here. route 309 around norris town road. disabled vehicle in limerick. check in with the schuylkill. really clear drive so far. not seeing or hearing any problems reported. roads are pretty dry. did a really good job clearing them yesterday. 13 minutes right now center city eastbound from the blue route headed to vine street expressway. 4:03. breaking overnight. flames hit an apartment building in philadelphia. forcing people out of homes and into the freezing cold. nbc 10 katy zachry live gathering information at the scene. >> reporter: i can tell you brutal conditions for firefighters to be fighting this fire as well as for people to be forced out of their memo. take a look behind me. 7500 block. this building right here.

apartment building that houses a number of apartments. there was a fire that started overnights. let's go to the picture firefighter took when he arrived to the scene. see fliems leaping from the building. a lot of the energy and focus was on the second floor. top right window. we have video of that. so that's where they attacked the fire. it seemed to be coming out of the top right window. eight families living in this building were forced out into the absolute bitter cold this morning as firefighters tried to put out the fire. fortunately most of them, seven of those families had people they could stay with because they cannot reenter their home. now one family had nowhere to go. the red cross was out here. they have helped set them up with accommodations tonight. is septa bus was brought to the scene. firefighters and people who will were evacuated could stay warm

in the bitter temperatures. i did talk to someone from red palm emergency. sent back here because there was a couple of pets that did not make it into owner's arms. he did find one. he found one hiding up on the second floor. back on the scene looking for a second one. back in another 30 minutes with update. i can tell you licensing and inspections inspectors are out here checking the structure of the scene. update for you as to cause of this fire. for now reporting live in mount air. u.s. postal service plans to resume normal service today, but they're asking for your help to keep the mail carrier safe. make sure that your mailbox is accessible and clear walkways and overhangs of snow and ice. airlines using philadelphia international airport say they plan to resume normal operations this morning. give you a live look at the airport. much different look than it was

yesterday. major carriers except delta cancelled flight yesterday because of the winter storm. still want to check with airline carrier before you head out to airport. see that, sparks flying in south jersey. ice and wind damaged these power lines in audubon yesterday. this morning thousands of people still without power. others cleaning up from the storm: nbc 10 pamela osborne live in. >> reporter: step out of the way and show you what's going on here. see in tree sfapd in half taking down power lineses with it. wasn't the only one other. yesterday the audubon fire department responded. wires came down on route 38 to police had to close that down temporarily until power crews

could make repairs. officials say the ice that fell here was more dangerous than two feet of snow. the ice event was widespread in south jersey. at one point the storm caused 7600 power outages here in camden county. at this point, a little more than -- around 1600 people maybe a little less than that are without power. appears most of this block is back on. minus the house that you see there. we're going to keep an eye on those numbers for you this morning. reporting live in audubon, pamela osborne. 4:07. it is cold out there this morning. you can see it. then the refreezing from yesterday's storm causing concern especially on the side roads. >> time, and, again, seeing this kind of problem. >> reporter: depends where you go. right here take a look at main street. sit clear. we took storm 4 10 out to show you conditions in our area.

take a look up this street, and see this driver here just clearly gave up because you see this is still snow covered and some snow still on some of the vehicles here, but you see just this street here. i mean, at least a few inches of snow and this is packed snow too. i just checked the thermometer on storm 4 10 we have one on the roof. 23 degrees here. all the stuff that had fallen yesterday and any of that sleet, any of that stuff that started to melt, well, it has since we frozen. so now it is a lot tougher than it was yesterday in the afternoon. so of course you have a p drivers like this one here, probably going to have a difficult time trying to make it down these side streets and especially you have some of the hilly areas and we have seen some ice as well. especially on some of the sidewalks where again you had little bit of that melting and all of that froze again overnight.

this afternoon in philadelphia. 26 in wilmington. 26 in dover. those are not the gusts. that's the steady wind. the gusts will top 40 miles an hour this afternoon. so standby for a cold one. the temperature will climb a little bit. we'll warm into the 20s. staying below freezing in philadelphia. here's that warmer afternoon i'm talking about. not by much. 28 degrees at 5:00. factor in the wind and look at the feels like temperatures. 7 degrees is what it will feel like at 11 clock. 10 degrees at 3:00 this afternoon. definitely have to bundle up. tracking flurries. most not reaching the ground right now in south jersey. moving through burlington county. camden county has seen snowflakesover head. see lake effect snow way off to northwest. that will not affect us. i think there's a chance we will see some scattered snow showers developing in south jersey this afternoon. more so than the rest of the area. 7:00 this morning just plain old

cold. 18 degrees in philadelphia. mostly cloudy day. might see some breaks of sunshine. not going to last all that long. noontime see showers off to north and west. little bit of activity. barely anything at noon. 24 degrees in philadelphia. now, keep an eye on new jersey. this afternoon snow showers popping up. 2:00 these are just going to be light snow showers on the move blowing through on the strong gusty winds. they'll be moving so you might see a quick dusting and by 4:00 in the afternoon, trending towards the shore. by early evening hour, 7:00 the temperatures are still frozen solid. the snow has moved out and the clouds will start to thin out. which means we have got sunshine to come. not so much today. over the next few days and it will bring us warmer weather to help with shoveling you may not have done. look at ten day on ten to show you how warm it's going to gog. >> he will be doing today for sure. >> honey, i would love to shovel. bill says wait until friday. talk about the refreezing on

the side roads. jessica, it's hard to navigate some of those more narrow roads. >> if you live in center city, parts of center city are a little difficult to drive. secondary roads. on and off ramp. prime example here. route 309 around norristown road. partially blocked right now with accident scene. one car involved. pretty much got to ramp and spun out. some of the major -- most of the majors at least are really seeing really clear conditions, but some of the ramps we're seeing some of that snow and ice over into the shoulders. that's where people hit those and lose control of their vehicle. now we have police activity here on the scene. got to get this guy under control. watch out for a lot of this today. also disabled vehicle so another disabled car out in lower merion on franklin avenue around west montgomery avenue. right near 295 near that point moving through cherry hill. no major problems. you can see definitely snow into the center median.

>> we didn't have the alternative minimum tax. donald trump in writing wants to end the alternative minimum tax. he would have paid taxes at a lower rate than the bottom half of taxpayers. the poor in this country who make less than $33,000. >> david said without that law, the president would have paid around $5 million less than 3.5% of income for 2005. last night t wlous confirmed the president paid $38 million in federal income tax on more than 150 million in income in 2005. return shows he wrote off more than $100 million in business losses to reduce that tax that year. the return contained in itemization. the white house released a statement that red in part before being elected president, mr. trump was one of the most successful businessmen in the world. with a responsibility to his company, his family and employees to pay no more tax than legally required. the dishonest media can continue to make in this part of their

agenda while the president will focus on his, which includes tax reform that will benefit all americans. the president has resisted releasing taxes since running for office. >> today federal judges in yand and hawaii will hear challenges. the new ban is supposed to take effect tomorrow. temporarily bars refugees from coming to u.s. and bans travel from six muslim majority countries dropping iraq from the original list. sean spicer sayings president trump is confident the justice department will produce evidence to back his claim that president obama wiretapped trump tower during the election. house panel is given the justice department until march 20th to produce that evidence. that's when hearings open on possible russian interference in the election. we will find out today if the federal reserve will raise interest rates.

hope and even with a little bit of wind, seems like it's in the teens. more than a little wind this morning. wind will be increasing this afternoon. likely do what we're seeing right now. below scattered snow showers through the area. very light stuff. i think not even reaching the ground. you may see a few flurries briefly this morning right now moving through morristown and easton township. heading out of waterford and towards jamong. that's just this morning. this afternoon see light snow showers here blowing through this afternoon. temperature climb into the 20s close to 30 degrees, but cold enough that most of what stays on the ground will stay frozen. see clouds and those clouds will be mostly cloudy. might see a break of sunshine. going to be a mostly cloudy day. some sunshine will allow temperatures to get close to the -- will allow the snow to melt. if you can get sunshine you can get melting even below 30. not expecting that much sunshine

the northtown road. cars actually spun out of control right here over into the right hand shoulder. see a lot of snow spield up on the side as well. trying to get the guy towed out of the way. road flairs out. traffic, i haven't seen any cars get by for right now. it may be all it will way blocked for this off-ramp on on-ramp right in here so i'll keep my eye on that for you. right now really be careful. we seeing a lot of disabled vehicles as we did all yesterday. now all of that refrozen precipitation from yesterday is causing some problems for drivers. lansdale another disabled vehicle. lower merion, vehicle fire. just watching this area of cherry lane around glen road. end with good news on the vine street expressway. not dealing with instruction this morning. that would be a bad idea to do that after a day of storm.
